It has been confirmed Krystal is in the game in some way though. Her voice actor confirmed it.

I think she will be a playable character. She is the only Starfox character who isnt gun oriented. Most series have three characters now as well, it seems logical to bump the Starfox characters up as well.
A. Not Metroid.
B. Not Donkey Kong
C. Not Earthbound/Mother
D. Not Metal Gear Solid
E. Not F-Zero
F. Not Mr. Game and Watch
G. NEVER STAR FOX!

Alright we can go toe to toe on this one.
A. Come up with two other well known characters. Come to think of it there is a new Metroid character in Brawl
B. Yeah, but they did step up the character amount which was my main point.
C. We have a new Earthbound character, and call me stuborn but I think Ness is still there as well.
D. 3rd Party game enough said.
E. I dont know enough about that game to say anything.
F. He is the only character in those games
G. Why is it so unlikely? Hmm? We don't even know if Falco will return he was a clone after all. She is the perfect fit.
H. Mario series - We are already up to five characters, and many think Luigi will be back.
I. Kirby - They added two new characters and now there are three of them.
J. You are forgetting that we still have months of updates so even if those game series don't have more characters whose to say that they won't?
Therefore why couldn't she be a playable Starfox character?
