He was indeed amusing...if she didn't know better she would guessed that he was flirting with her. But that was a human thing now wasn't it, and he held those human mannerisms. "I'm quite fond of humans actually...well some. I at least enjoy thier little maxiums and sayings. Sometimes there are no truer words than the ones they come up with I think." A little grin at him, brushing red and silver from triple colored eyes. "My sword skills lack I can handle a dagger and whip pretty well. But my ally rests in my bow. I dare go so far as to call myself an expert in that notion." Okay...so she liked to brag about it a little.
"Priorities make themselves known quick enough, though yes I believe you already have most of them already in order. Any straggling ones will fall in line as they need be." Though he couldn't resist a chuckle at the notion. "I'm sure she'd enjoy that as well...someone who won't give into her out of frustration."
She reached over to the floor and picked up a bag, untying it she reached in and pulled out one of those gold colored horseshoes that were an Andal unique item, flashing one at Malik. "Indeed, they have." And a look at the horse, what with her affinity to animals. "Though I do hope they are to her liking...of course the color can be easily changed without destroying the properties innate to them, that is if gold is not her color." Dropping it back in and holding it out to Malik.

"Yeah some of their sayings might be blunt or rude but they get to the point eh?" Arthur said with a small grin. Piper was a beautiful woman, her silver and red hair matched her it never seemed that anyone could pull that off and her eyes were stunning it really gave her a unique look, but of course she belonged to Malik and he didn't want to piss that guy off.
"Daggers and a bow eh? pretty good combination you got there, I tired my luck at the bow but nothing good came out of it I actually shot my instructor by mistake, damn was he pissed." That got a small hearty laugh from Arthur as he went over those few days. "Though I might take it up again after all I got all the time in the world correct?" he said with a small smile. It was finally good to talk to someone like this after so long, being on the sea has its good points but damn did he miss having some company.

"And some are quite eloquent." Another little chuckle, watching him a moment as he seemingly watched her. An interesting little elf that was for sure. "I'm sure he was...no one likes getting pinned with an arrow." She offered him a smile, even though she knew was feeling self concious both from hidden ears and bruising from getting a beat down the prior day. Then a little nod of her head. "Never to late to learn, especially for an elf young as you are."

"Yeah no one likes to be shot at or stabbed by anything, but we still train ourselves to defend with a weapon." He let that part go as he brushed the side of his face with his eye patch. The day he got that was hard, the bar fight he gotten into was by mistake and he paid with his eye, sometimes he could still feel a bit of pain from the wound like it doesn't want him to forget what happened that day. Arthur placed his hand back in his pocket and grinned at Piper, a smal blush ran acorss his face when she commented on his age.
"Why thank you Lady Silverfeather, and do I say the same appiles to you, it's not to late to take up some pratice on the ways of the sword." Arthur now had a small smile on his face, it seemed like Piper was making sure he felt welcomed here, he was glad he offered up his sword incase she ever needed his help or he would feel like he's cheating her out of something usefull.

Malik gave a slight nod, and a grin. those were going to be fun. and he was particularly going to like this duel to be of words. it had been quiet sometime where a duel of words between him and someone else had taken place that didn't end in bloodshed. and this time, using a blade to emphasize one's point wasn't going to be an option.
"Question. if me and this watery monarch engage in this little duel, and I happen to best her...what do you think the possible repercussions would be?"
Nightmare snorted and shook her head lightly with a bit of a nod. Gold colored mithril woudl work. that was acceptable...but why was she getting new shoes? that was the real question.

Concentration and research did not go together, at least not when the focus of the former was not on the latter. She was having a considerable amount of trouble focusing on anything but keeping that power balanced and those threads from moving around too much. Was it required to maintain this all the time? She suddenly felt bad for Sevilin though he'd never showed signs of caution about his threads. Maybe this was just when one was beginning to learn, training exercises and things like that. She slowly stood, walking perfectly balanced in that odd way and out to the hallway, steps measured and precise. Violet eyes honed in on Piper and she heard those same voices she'd heard earlier. The newcomer. Not one for a lot of company she intended to go straight past, after all she was covered in bloodstains and her clothes were worse for the wear, not a way to meet someone who could be important or be used later. Therefore a simple nod to both and she slipped past Arthur and continued her way up the stairs. She'd glanced at Piper briefly, assessing the damages, though she hadn't said anything. Presently she was entertaining and that was not the time to bring up what had happened before. She would catch her later when she was alone, if Piper would even be alone around her anymore.

"No they certinally don't." Keeping that little friendly smile of hers. Yes indeed, Piper was certinally the PR in the pair that her and Malik made up. Of course that wasn't always a bad thing, as shown here. He was genuinely pleasant, even if she was nervous around him because of old fears. But that was the way it was to be. Though a little chuckle at his blushing...that was just cute. "Oh believe me, I've already started in that endevour...or rather have been talked into it. I don't prefer the blade and the front of the fray. A bit picky about my trainings. Though a slight passing look to Zahara as she had passed them in the hall with a nod...Piper went quiet a moment as Zahara had done so and then with a shake of her head, she returned smiling attention to Arthur. "And that was Zahara Val'Ril." Her friend...or used to be.
"Repercussions? No need for those. If you best her, well then you best her and she bows down and out gracefully now doesn't she? We like to think that we're all right in what we speak, but in fact and truth, we just aren't." A little chuckle from him, sitting up some from where he was seating as Fianna vacated his lap. Another look to his pages and a few marks made of paper before he looked back to Malik again. "Even if that dual was more than verbal. But hopefully things will go smoothly. Not a bad woman, just horribly protective.
Fianna had indeed slipped off of Kieran's lap and had moved over to Nightmare, leaning on the stall door and reaching a hand out to pet at the creature, boldy as ever without hint of fear in the action when others would have been hesitant to pet something they had never touched before. But this was a wood elf, she was good with animals of any sorts. "Isn't that nice, you get new shoes and a vacation."

Arthur shrugged. "But still if you lose your daggers and bow during the middle of a fight then what will you use? It's best to be trained in it, just in case." Arthur did make a valid point, what would Piper do if she did lose all of her weapons? scratch the enemey to death?
But before he could say another word he saw Zahara pass them, he paused for a moment as he watched her a little stunned, his eyes followed her until she disapeared when she reached the top of the stairs. "Zahara huh?" was all he said as the colour of her eyes just stayed in his mind for a moment before he turned back to Piper with a worried expresion on his face.. "The blood on her cloths...what happened?"

"I'm not too bad with a whip, and I am quite hands on violent when I need to be." A little nod and one of those fond smiles, the kind you got when you thought about someone who was always there for you. "And Malik would be at my side." Bows singing with swords in battle. She watched him watch after Zahara a moment before he felt the need to ask questions. Piper suddenly looked a little guilty. "That's probably a mix of her blood, and mine. We got into a fight yesterday...weapons involved. And yes that is ineed the reason why I'm not entirely presentable today. She was accusing me of something that happened, though I'm still not quite clear on what I did that was so wrong to warrant a beating." A little sigh.

Arthur nodded, knowing that something happened before he arrived it wasn't right for him to force himself into what happened unless they actually wanted to talk about it to him. "Well thats okay Piper I'm sure what ever went wrong between the both of you can be fixed, I think you two just need to talk it over together...without any weapons around." the last bit was ment as a smal joke and he laughed at it, trying to lighten the mood a little because Piper did seem a little upset about what happened between her and Zahara.
Thought thats when he decided to get back to the last topic they were on not wanting to linger on the topic of thier fight, for reasons of not wanting to seem like he wanted to get into her personal life. "You use a whip eh? thats impressive I never came across anyone who uses one as a weapon." he was impressed by Pipers skills though, he had a good feeling he could rely on her in a fight if it got tough.

"Oh, I'm sure as well...things are just too fresh right now though. She can take all the time she wants to be mad at me or whatever it is she wants to do." A little shrug...Piper was like that though wasn't she? Let anyone who wanted thier space from her to have it. Even if it wasn't pleasant to feel ostrasized. But back to Arthur. "Hm? Oh yes...my father taught me. With the right uses and strikes, it can be quite the effective weapon...though I use it mostly as support." A little shrug and a chuckle. "Nothing too impressive really? Just a quiet little elf with funny hair."

Arthur raised his hands in defense. "Hey I never thought of you like that Piper, I'm impressed on everything you have told me, you are indeed a very talented woman." he had a small grin on his face, trying to flirt with a lady wasn't really one of his strong suits since he was shy back when he was young and didn't know how to speak to them but it happened now and then.
"So your father taught you how to use the whip? well that man must be a good teacher, although at the moment I have a very strong feeling that he wants to study me..." A small shiver went up his body as his voice trailed off, it just felt creepy to see someone look at you with that kind of intrest.

After a soothing bath, Zahara discovered a rather pleasant surprise when she stepped back into her room. She and the tailor, despite their previous disagreement had come to an agreement and together they'd designed some new clothes for Zahara. One of those outfits was finally done and wrapped up in paper just to keep it safe until she could see it. She ripped into the paper and blinked at the fabric lying before her. It was a light blue color, far more pastel than any color she'd ever worn and she wasn't sure if it would actually look alright on her. The tailor had insisted she let him pick fabrics and colors and she had hesitantly agreed. The top was simple, enough fabric to cover what needed to be covered, held up by knotting the two ends in the back. The skirt was more of a long piece of cloth that when folded in a certain way formed a skirt with shortened sides and then the cloth was folded over to hang down in the front. The wraps and folds in the clothing gave a different feel and even the gloves were looser than she usually wore. And last of all was the cape. It was a beauty of an item looped over her shoulders with two bands and then fastened around her neck with a purple clip. She glanced down at herself and had to admit that her trust had been well-placed. He'd seen her hesitancy and assured her that he knew what he was doing. Pulling on her boots she exchanged her usual hoop for a more elegant navel ring, one that actually had an amethyst in the middle of the stone hanging down from a small chain. She ran her fingers through her hair, changed the clip in her hair and then stepped out into the hallway and listened just before the top of the stairs. Piper was still down there with that other elf...ah well, she'd just have to see if she could steal her away. Coming back down she once again slipped past the other elf and made eye contact with Piper, "He's harmless really, just a curious elf. Although it's better to just let him ask questions and answer them, a delight to talk to really." she said speaking of Kieran before a nod to him."He's a lot like his daughter in that aspect..."

Another laugh as she seemed tp put him off, but in the amusing way. "Come now, don't worry about that. Though you are en elf indeed, your tongue becoming sliver...perhaps one day even quicksilver." She shook her head lightly before giving one of those subject changing sighs in acknowledgement to it. "Yes, he did. Taught me in my daggers as well. He's a scholar, actually." Though a full laugh as that look of 'oh elvish gods, he's interested in studying me' crossed Arthur's face. "Oh don't worry, he won't stuff you in a jar and shake you around. He respects personal boundries. Just easily inquisitive these days." Though her own triple colored eyes then found themselves held by lavender ones as Zahara added in her two cents on Kieran. A little smile, perhaps of unease as she compared father and daughter to Arthur. "I suppose we are...we just don't know when enough is enough sometimes." She clasped her hands together, letting fingers worry at her engagement ring for need to do something. "How are you feeling Zahara?" Said as she averted her eyes the slightest bit and looked to Arthur.

Arthur nodded a bit. "Well it seems like your father is a well talented man if he did train you in use of your daggers and whip." thought Arthur did shudder at the thought of being stuffed into a jar, it just felt weird on how Kieran eyes just looked at you with that certain I want to know everything about you look in his eyes. But he was happy that Piper told him that her father wasn't going to do anything serious to him. "I'm glad to hear that."
Arthur was kind of taken by surprised when he happen to see Zahara slip pass him and stop to engage in their conversation. "I will...take that into consideration..." About right now Arthur was trying his very best not to stare at the dark skin elf, she was very beautiful and the cloths she was wearing were not helping him in trying to concentrate on the conversation. Her eyes were stunning a beautiful violet, and her white hair was beautiful it really stood out from her dark skin. But with the very little clothing that she wore it allowed him to see her navel ring which the little amethyst gem sparkled a bit.
But luckily for Arthur he was able to tear his gaze away and looked at the ground a little as he listened in on the conversation that was going on between the two women.
