Arthur whistled a little to himself as he slowly made his way down the steps again, his katana bouncing lightly against his hip with each step he took. These are days he is so happy he was picked up by his human parents, who knows what could of happened to him.
Slowly he reached over to his little case that he had clipped on the left side of his belt and opened it. Inisde were a bunch of stubby little cigars, so he pulled one out, closing the case and sliently looked around. Placing his finger on the end of the cigar he whispered a few words and a flame shot out of his finger and light the cigar up. After a few seconds he pulled his figner away and shook it out before placing his cigar in his mouth and puffing away lightly.
Now where to? Arthur's mind wondered wich way he could go from here, as long as he didn't run into Malik again. so with a small sigh he took off his katana so he could sit down on the steps and figure out which way to go.

Oh how the gold in her eyes, unconciously to her of course as most times, flicked with the mention of camping out. Even if it was Underdark style...she was lucky to get Malik out of the house and into that type of situation, even now and down here. Besides...lake that didn't have Underdark things in it meant swimming. Joy, cold water or not. After all...temperature wasn't a big thing to elves. A little smile to him, and the lightest nuzzle under his chin at his hug before before she pulled back. "Very well then, you go get brushed up and place nice with the other elves." A little laugh, letting him walk away with somewhat of a sigh before her attention was caught by Arthur sitting on the stairs. Another tug at her bandana, discomfort from not covering her ears for so long setting in...funny how the apperance of a surface elf could spur her self conciousness on that aspect. With a little smile she walked over to him. "Don't worry...he's not as harsh as he seems."

Of course for Sevilin being as attuned to energies as he was, he was able to trace what she was doing. She was rather well at this, though he expected nothing less from her, her magic prowess being enough for him to know that she would have rather focused attention when needed. Well...that pleased him, it made his job a hell of a lot easier.

Though his ears twitched lightly at the particular sound that entered her voice...was that panic? Why would she be panicking. "It's alright, you're not ripping yourself apart, adn you're not binding yourself either...let it settle, you have to be in charge of it..." Though then he thought better of this and presented another option. "If it's too much...just let go. Wipe the board clean...no color, no shape, no lines." Maybe this was too much for her after all.

Kieran and Fianna of course were sitting out in the stables where they had left too earlier. She was lavishing attentions on horses and he was scribbling away in a journal. "You think he's going to handle this alright? I mean...I don't want any...incidents."

He looked up from his writings and drawings. "I think he'll do just fun. Everyone slips up, be he tries hard. After all...he went so far as to speak surface elvish to you to make you comfortable."

She tensed again but this time out of injured pride. Too much? She could handle this dammit! She could handle this and a lot more and now she was determined to prove it to him. It took her mind off her fear and forced her to keep her focus completely trained. Shje was focusing so hard she almost lost control and even felt those threads start wavering as though they were going to snap. His voice worked wonders in calming her down, soothing her when he rfear and anger threatened to take a hold of her and not let go. "I can do this..." She steadied herself and then felt the strings pull taut. She lessened her hold and felt them slacken just a bit. She was in control, she could move the strings anyway she chose or tighten or loosen them according to her whims. "I'm fine." Said with absolute conviction.

Arthur silently puffed away at his cigar as his mind tried to think up of any questions he could ask if h met up with people who are already living here. Luckily for him Piper happen to come along, being a little startled by her presence Arthur took his cigar out of his mouth and put it out against the bottom of his shoe. "Sorry I don't know if I'm allowed to smoke, another habit I picked up from my family..." he chuckled a little as he stood up, his katana in his one hand.
Arthur smiled a little as Piper was trying to lower his worries about Malik. "It's okay just somethings were said and I may of took somethings the wrong way, oh and by the way if I did say anything insulting about you or Malik then I'm sorry I can be defensive about certain things." Arthur tighten his grip a little more on his katana as he stuck his hand out to her. "Even though I've already been introduced by your father I still think a proper introduction is in order." He looked at her with his one emerald eye and smiled lightly. "Arthur Murdock, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Malik stayed back a bit, hearing them speaking...he thought about him. after all, he knew this place better than anyone, and how to hide in plain sight in darkened shadow, and cloaking himself in them, including his magic. he'd give this a few minutes and see what was being talked about. after all...thier worries and anxieties were important. they would be the ones vouching for him to even come to the plane, much less sit in on this council. Surface elvish..yes he did need to learn and brush up on that.

And then the panic was go, after a few moments her voice speaking of sound assurance in what was happening. And feeling out energy patterns he knew that she more or less had a handle on it now. And after a few moments, still standing in that awkward position with her...he stepped his boots out from between her own and let go of her hands, stepping back compeltely from her. "Well done."

Yes, that was just praise that left his lips, accented by that lop sided grin that he probably wasn't aware he produced from time to time either. It was a rare sight to say the least. A little nod of his head. "You...may feel a little off, if you maintain that. Things shift. Though if you keep it constant...then you get used to it." Hell, he was always maintaining it.

She watched him put out his cigar on his shoe and then apologize. Normally the smell of tobacco smoke made her nose wrinkle in dislike but that wasn't flying right now, hurt too much. Of all the days to no be pretty or even presentable for that matter, had to be the one where a stranger came seeking her by name. "I can't fault you for how you were raised now can I?" But a little nod a sideglance at him holding his sword before her eyes focused back to his. "He's defensive of what is his is all. We've been less than fortunate with those we've run across, it's understandable." And he was drow too. Quite surprised though that Arthur did not look at her like she was crazy, since it appeared she was marrying a drow when she was surface elven, and they were supposed to hate each other. Even humans thought badly of drow. But another smile and she offered her hand into his. "Piper D'vinn...if you would. Though I do admit, more pleasure in this meeting than usually receieved. I thank you for that."

"I spoke with him earlier, when him and Pip were having thier tiff. It's amazing how he speaks of her...such an encompassing gambit of things...how she can frustrate him to no end yet he would do anything for her." A little chuckle...she was a romantic after all. But she cleared her throat, getting back to her original point. "I told him it would be better if he stayed with you first off, he mentioned that he may have trouble with the air and what not."

"Reminds you of us, does it?" A little chuckle, turning his eyes back to his journal and continuing his scribblings. "Yes seems like a good idea, what with the mountains keeping the air relatively filtered. Though it's winter still yet...he may adapt sooner than we thing. Spring still isn't for a few months."

"Three years and a quarter of a month of spring. I mean, I like him Kieran...I'd rather not have him die from something simple as a season change." A little sigh and she walked over, taking his journal from him and plopping in his lap, leaning back against his chest. A little laugh. "Think he can stand againt Talithia?"

He laughed as well. "Anyone who can stand against Talithia has to be a god."

Arthur smiled as he shook Piper's hand, she had a firm grip to her and he gave her the same right back. He nodded lightly when she told him how defensive Malik has been lately. "Hey it's no worries Piper I can totally understand that I've had my close calls as well and always felt edgy afterwards." Even though he didn't show it he was kind of surprised that she was actually marrying the guy, but really there is was no reason to question their love, its there and a surface elf who fell in love with a drow was bound to happen sooner or later.
After she re-introduced herself Arthur let go of Pipers hand and placed it back in his pocket. "Trust me Piper I'm just happy to meet more surface elves or any elves for that matter, thank you for taking me in." Arthur then waved his free arm down the opposite corridor as like an invitation. "After you Miss?" he asked with a smile.

She stood there for a few minutes maintaining the position by herself and then it finally sank in that she had done it. A serious feeling of accomplishment welled up in her and she felt her lips lift in a true smile, one she very rarely displayed. She opened her eyes and waved her fingers still feeling those threads then she dropped her hands to her sides and still felt them. Experimentally she wiggled her toes inside her boots and they still had the threads as well. Slowly she sat down, keeping her energy still in that one spot in her chest. "So that's it then...?" She now knew how to harness her energy and that excited her, she really didn't knowwhy but it did. A silly smile quirked her mouth and she leaned back in her chair. "Does it always feels like this?"

He was...amusing in a good way to her. An elf who acted so human and didn't think twice about it. Indeed, she had seen others try to immitate humans, even she had but this was new to her. "Hm, yes well our close calls never seem to end. As I often say, trouble follows me and Malik like wolves to blood." Funny though how she chuckled after that now wasn't it? "Yes...mostly half elves and drow down here these days isn't it? I'm still surprised when I see surface elves down here as well." But she took his gesture as the 'let's walk and talk' notion. Though she was sure under normal circumstances, had she not been in a place where she felt safe, she wouldn't be so comfortable. But she oblidged him, chewing on a cinnamon stick, her other hand letting her fingers twine into her collar. "So...grew up with humans did you?"

Pivoting on his boot heel, he walked back to his end of the table and sank down into his chair as well...that had been partially nerve racking for him really more than anything. "Just in the beginning...soon if kept constant, you doen't even recognize it. Us rune mages do it as a sort of safe guard...to know when we've siphoned off all of our excess energies during runing...when the reserve runs out that means that we're tapping into vital energies of our bodies. Which can be dangerous."

"You might be surprised just what it takes to be a god."

Slipping out of the dark, including casual dismissing the magics that helped conceal him.

"You have some concerns about me, Fianna? feel free to critique. and Talithia..is this the Sea Elven, or the High Elven monarch?"

A slight grin.

And the moment ended and the good feeling all but evaporated. She watched him walking back to his own side of the table and knew he was doing it to get away from her. She sighed softly and nodded tapping those nails delighted to feel the threads moving with them. This was a rather interesting way now wasn't it? And Sevilin heading back most likely signaled the end of the runing part of the lesson. She grabbed her book and began flipping through it idly searching for a random page. Disappointment was not an emotion she was comfortable displaying. "How much time is left?"

Before they began walking Arthur quickly placed his katana back on his belt and let it hung lazily against his hip as he walked beside Piper. Even though it was rare to see a surface elf these days he still found it hard to find any elf at all since most of them have to hide themselves or they are forced into slavery.
As Arthur walked beside Piper he hopped he didn't come on too strong, the last thing he needed to do was to freak out the person who agree to let him stay here in the first place. "Yeah I grew up with humans, I was lucky to have or I would be dead or worse." He paused for a minute to reflect on certain times of his life before he continued. "I never knew my parents, if that was what you were going to ask me next, I was a baby when I was found, in my parents boat out on the waters." He stopped as he seemed to have stared off into space for a bit, thinking of the times he had with his first parents. "But they took care of me so I'm grateful." Arthur said with a sad tone but he looked at Piper with a smile across his face. "So what type of elves are your parents?"

Okay, she about jumped off of Kieran as Malik more or less popped right up there. That was something she certinally wasn't used to at all, and being in the Underdark made her all the more jumpy after all. Though Kieran had hold of her so she didn't get to do that. She did let out a relieved breath though in recognition. "I suppose I should be used to that...or at least I should get used to it. Morning Malik." A little smile to him as she relaxed back against Kieran again. "I just don't want you horribly miserable during your stay...and Talithia is sea elven...and about as graceful and deadly as a jellyfish."

Kieran only chuckled at that, not often did Fianna speak ill. But it was hard considering Talithia...how anyone put up with that woman was a mystery. A pet through Fianna's hair and then a look over to Malik. "Talithia is...hard to deal with. Stubborn as anything you've ever seen and almost vicious in her convictions. I dare say she was ready to knock me for a loop last council."

"Only because you agitate her as well." A little shake of her head an a look back to Malik. "Perhaps I was a bit worried, in all honesty, that her temper may spark your own...she has the ability to spark tempers in even those of us who can seem gentle as the wind." A little pat to Kieran's arm at that line.

"There is no time left. You're free to go, to rest up if you wish. I'll leave you alone for the rest of that day on the matter." Sevilin cutting lessons short, really? Despite his mannerisms he did have a few threads of understanding within him, and he remembered being young and doing that as well...you were too preoccupied to do much of anything for the next few days. Well provided that she kept the state. But he'd let her have the rest of the say, she was probably dying to get away from him anyway.

"Generous humans. In my experience they are not so...and I'm not native to Labyrinth but from what I have found, they look at elves of any type with disgust, think us lower than them and no good. I recall being in Deepwater for tournament and seeing elves and half elves with brands of slavery. Sad really." A little sigh, stopping when he did, though yes...she was fidgety around him...nervous motions being made. The chewing on that cinnamon stick, the tugging at her collar, wringing her hands lightly, or tugging at her bandana. Amazing...after all this time it still his her as hard as ever. Though her attention was diverted with his question. "Even when not among elves you're intuitive enough to know they are not of the same subrace. My mother is a wood elf, and my father is a moon elf, whom I take after in my looks obviously. On my plane of origin, I'm what is called a Bridge elf." Arthur...if she has her guess was either wood elven or high elven...then again thie was Labyrinth, who knew what kind of surface elves were here.

That got a little grin.

"Is that so. She's liek the ocean she lives in. the tides can change in a moment, from calm glass to turbulent waves. Those kinds I can handle. They all break eventually, like the ocean spray on the rock. and I can give as good as I get."

Theough a slightly smugly evil look.

"Or should I perhaps give her a 'special' necklace to handle her?"

Which got a chuckle before Fianna thought him serious about it. after all, he was planning to give them jewelry. which made him consider what Piper had said about broog before. perhaps his alone time coudl be put to profitable use.

"But Of course for me, it's lesson time. we have only so much time, and I have a great deal to learn about Andalian politics and dealings."

Arthur shrugged. "Well I guess I was the lucky one to have found a group of humans who are caring, but I guess that comes from them being swordsman, they carry a certain type of honor for things. But yes it is sad to see elves and half elves condemned to slavery, if there was a way where that could be lifted then I be happy to see it come to pass."
Even though he was trying to get to know Piper a little better he noticed that she tended to do certain things with her hands or an article of clothing. She must be nervous around me, can't say I blame her... he was nervous as well but he did his best to stay calm around her, hoping that this awkwardness would pass soon.
"Bridge elf huh? never heard it explained like that before...I never knew my type really, not that it matters to me at all I'm just happy to be who I am." he had a small smile on his face when he said this, it was half truth though he was nervous to be an elf and show himself as one since what happens to any of them if they are found out.
"If you don't mind me asking you how old are you? might as well know because to me you don't look older than two hundred." he said with a nervous chuckle.
