"Not enough," he mused. "I want to do more. Let's travel next summer. See anything you like."
"It's like missing a place you've never been?" Cody guessed. "I've had moments like that," he added, thoughtfully. Nothing drastic, nothing like Dari had experienced. "From books," he explained, then.

"I'd like to go anywhere. I've seen so much of the world, but I've never truly experienced it."
His free hand stroked Cody's back. "Sort of, except parts of me were literally there. The couple had children at home. I can remember the co-pilot's friends." And their dying moments.

Oh, ******** the meteor shower. He wasn't paying attention anyway. His love needed comforting. Cody turned and wrapped both arms around Dari, intending to pull him close. "I can't imagine," he said. Dari deserved so much happiness. They'd go on that trip. They'd get married. They'd...
"I want you to move in with me," he blurted.

Dari happily thumped into Cody's chest, and then peered up at him.
"I thought we would get a house after we get married."

Oh... A house was even better! But that was a long time from now. "When's our wedding?" he asked, and then seemed to realize that had probably sounded impatient. "I don't think we ever decided?"

"Autumn, you said," Dari reminded him.

Autumn? Could he claim shenanigans? Could he claim drunkness? Nah... He smiled then. "My favorite season. The colors are beautiful." He paused then, studying Dari. "Like you."

"I remember," Dari said. He grinned and brought up his free hand to cup Cody's cheek and leaned his chin up to kiss him. "We'll need to ask the others how to plan it. I don't really know how to do this. Or we could hire a consultant? Or a planner?"

"We could," Cody nodded. "Honestly, I'm good as long as mom isn't the one planning it. What a nightmare that'd be!"

"Don't worry. If we can keep her out, we're all set. I don't have parents to talk us into things!" Then he laughed. "No, no. I have Maia. That's not true. Hopefully she'd be busy enough with her own wedding."
He sipped his cocoa and turned his eyes to the sky again.
"...we could just get married in a courthouse if you'd prefer."

Cody took a sip of cocoa and choked, staring at Dari. He took a moment to recover, eyes wide. "No," he shook his head. "Not good enough. We're getting married on our mountain." He stroked Dari's cheek. "I'm just worried about mom taking over and making us wear coordinating awful colors."

Dari nodded. He was fine with that too! It was the marriage he wanted. The ceremony could be special, but it wasn't necessary.
"Aren't we supposed to wear coordinating colors?"

"Mom is terrible at coordinating!" Cody wrinkled his nose. "I'm sure Maia would be more help. You taught her how to shop, didn't you?"

"Uh. Well. More or less. Toby's lost when it comes to women's fashion. He does have preferences, though. She's learned them, and abuses her powers to various levels of good and evil." He smiled.
"An autumn wedding in gold, orange and brown. Where will we have it? Would your parents like it to be at a church?"

"Fashion in general has my head spinning," Cody admitted, and grinned. "I can't blame him. Oh?" He grinned and looked to Dari. "You didn't tell her those preferences?"
"Perfect," Cody smiled. "Probably. But it doesn't matter to me what they want. And besides, I can always argue the whole nature is closer to God than some stupid building. I was thinking we could do it on our mountain."
