More weird dreams. sweatdrop I listened to the remix I posted too much yesterday, so it ended up being an AG version of Street Fighter, except, not so much. It was just the same fight over and over. Zero versus Zely as Dan and Vega respectively.

Everyone is rich except meee.. gonk
I am not rich in Gaia or real world money.. especially after paying for Japan I will be in debt.. but I'm sure richness is a good perception of making one feel better about the self, but only temporarily if one cannot share riches with someone to bring happiness, and/or if it's a lie it reflects one's insecurities (calling one's self rich when one isn't, and/or using money to buy love and not having it be genuine).. so richness may not be the best path..
..but.. I want to buy stuff.

Temporary happiness will not stay forever.. things that change are more exciting..

Wow... Rasuki, me, and Hollywood_addict all have our b-days in a row! eek

Anata no tanjoobi wa nan nichi desu ka? what day is your b-day? I am on the 22nd..
June 20th. sad Maybe I'll break mentally on my b-day and go around wearing Goth Loli in an attempt to look younger. lol

Isn't it ironic that when you're little, you always want to be older, and then when we're older, we want to be younger, and some of us humans go into mid-life crisis? Why don't we accept the truth and worry about other things, that we can more strongly control?

Why do cities like LA get the reputation for being high crime? Is a big city life with little room a negative influence any many people? What is it about the big touch city ethos, or is it more like self-fulfilling prophesy, where if one is told something enough times and there are not many other depictions, the individual becomes what people say they are?

I think it has to do with the fact we've become to submissive to the wills of criminals and gangs that they can kind of run the city how they want. That and we just have such an access to things that can do harm and really don't do much about it.
People who are poor (around poverty level or less) have a higher likelyhood of turning to crime. Though the US claims to be the land of opportunity, that's sometimes not that true. It's easier to turn to crime to make a quick buck. For some, that's the only way they see it. I mean, I don't think there are a lot of middle/upper class folks going out committing crimes here and there. In major cities such as LA, there is a dense population. More people means more resources are taken up and generally, not enough...especially for those suffering at the poverty level. If you have money, you don't need to worry about those things. If you're one of those poor people, there is no room to get resources or move to a nicer place. Also, not to mention the living costs of California and other big places such as New York or Florida.

I guess there gap between the rich and the poor = everyone is not created equal, because we don't start on the same group with equal rights because we don't all have the same amount of money.

Another thing I was thinking about while reading your post was your idea on high population. Maybe this is some of what is going on in China now? There are too many people, so many people over there are poor, because of lack of perfect resources to go around? Then, there's the dilemma between 1 or 2 child policy.. when there are many already alive people dying, when do you draw the line between new kids, who could take away from already alive people with established lives, and new people, who take over from the dead and carry the culture? Where to think business and where to think humane? Is it fair to make new kids suffer a horrible, unequal life, which many have done suicide or other countless things to avoid? Unless situations improve, I am hestitant to say that it is fair.. unless one can guarantee a better life, maybe one should hesitate in acting against the needs of the people..

Another thing that came to mind was your mention of crime amongst the lower-economic class. I believe I learned some in Women's Studies/History that among East Asian countries, prostitution is higher, because that is all they can do in employment to make a living AND SURVIVE. Amongst Vietnam, the Phillipines, and Okinawa for example, I think I have heard that they are high in prostitution, and are low economically. Hence, they congregate around Americans who supposedly give the impression that we're rich, and GIs in particular if there's a base. It makes me sad to have to revert to the lowest selling one's body and sometimes personal pride/confidence just to survive. I wish there were other ways for people to survive without people cheating them out of something, because they are worried about fulfilling basic needs and have to go with what sells the most money (making a quick buck)..

Also, noted from Zero Omega (somehow I missed the original quote from backtracking), there seems to be a big problem on balancing between RIGHTS and SAFETY. It was evident in the Patriot Act when the government said they could spy on us to keep us safe, but in effect, it also took away some of our privacy rights.. where to draw the line seems to be a problem.. when to yell at the people who carry around weapons and use violence and when to critique ourselves for supplying them?

I think Fitzgerald explains it best in The Great Gatsby. The American Dream is, indeed, dead.

Is that what that book is about? I have heard lots of people talking about it.. it is a diffiult read??
