Bulbadoof CarcharOdin Bulbadoof What is so wrong with the starter? Are the gen 5 ones super bad or something? I don't have a problem with any of the starters in Gen 5, but I figured this time around I'd try and make do without using one. The game gets noticeably more difficult. Also, team so far: Lucario, Lv. 24 Genesect, Lv. 24 Magnemite, Lv. 22 It seems like everyone is doing it. I was just wondering if they were like insanely subpar or something. I honestly think there are just better options than the starters this time around. In Black 1, I replaced my Emboar with Cobalion because Emboar just didn't feel like he was pulling his weight. If you wanna get tourneyfag about it, yes, they're probably the worst set of starters since Gen 2. The only really useful one is Dream World Serperior because spamming Leaf Storm and boosting your Special Attack instead of losing it is pretty nasty.

No, people just rely on them so much to carry you through the game that it's more interesting to see how you do without one. That's all, really.

Is the storyline basically the same except for a few more bells and whistles, a la Yellow/Crystal/Emerald/Platinum?

GSC was technically a sequel to RBY, but I'm assuming this is far more plot-driven?

Skyla seems to be a magician or something... In any case, she's once again a pushover...and her Gym still reeks of potential hospital visits. Team: Lucario, Lv. 33 Espeon, Lv. 31 Magnezone, Lv. 35 Genesect, Lv. 33 Frillish, Lv. 32 Anyone want to recommend me a good sixth member? Preferably something either Grass or Flying type (or can learn those types of moves).

Also, I have fought six people via Random Matchup now. Four of them have ragequit after encountering a Lucario that is completely unaffected by psychic attacks or after finding a Vanilluxe that can breathe fire. Zoroark is quickly becoming my favorite. XD

I just need to stay the ******** away from fire (2/3 of my team is Steel-type), but fortunately Jellicent and Ferrothorn work great together.
