Oh, business! Reese straightened slightly, interested. "They're welcome to come here," he said, giving Toby a smile. An entire clan? "Are they peaceful?"

"They're sprites," Toby said. "They don't eat meat, not even bugs, and they're humanoid. They'd be good company, I think. They're the smaller version, so they can be a bit hard to hear sometimes, but I feel like they'd be very comfortable in your forest."

Not even bugs? Reese was impressed. "Sprites?" He asked, and smiled. "Yeah, they'll be fine here," he said. "They'll get along with Holly, too."

"Alright. When would be good to bring them over, then? We need at least eight days before we can head over, so we'll be good about 10 days from now. That's no earlier than the twenty-seventh. Today being the seventeenth."

"Come the twenty seventh," Reese said, then. He was excited! He'd never had humanoids live in his woods; besides himself and Holly. "Can you spend some time with Holly while you're here? She misses you."

"Alright, we'll try. It'll be the twenty-seventh or the next day." He smiled then and shook his head. "Of course I can. You'll have to show the sprites around anyway."

Reese smiled brightly and turned to face the nymph instead of the beacon. "Holly! Toby's coming to visit!"
That caught the Nymph's attention. "Poppy?" She asked, reaching for the beacon. "Poppy coming?"

"Yes! In ten or eleven days, I'll come visit, okay? You're going to have a lot of new friends in the forest." He felt better knowing there would be more than one set of eyes to watch the little nymph as well, even as fast as she was growing.

"HOORAY!" Holly cheered. She beamed into the beacon's screen. "Miss Poppy! Love you!"
Reese was smiling. "Now the forest won't be so empty!"

"I miss you too, honey!" He turned to Reese's projected image then. "Yeah, I thought you might like it. We can talk more about what sort of entities you'd be willing to let in when we're actually there. You'll always have dominion over the forest, we're just here to protect it, and you, and them."

"Peaceful ones. But anyone who needs help, as long as they promise not to hurt my trees or Holly. Or the new sprites." Reese was sure he'd develop a fondness for the little creatures soon enough.
Dominion. He liked that word. The guardian grinned. "Right," he agreed. "I like having your help. And Holly likes you."

"We'll have to be out there for a few days at least, to make sure we mediate everything. It's sort of silly, but it's required."

A few days? Well, that sounded great. Reese rewarded Toby with another smile. "You guys can stay in your tent again," he suggested. "I can keep you safe. But it's starting to get chilly, so bring warmer blankets this time. And maybe a coat for Holly."
He really didn't want his nymph to go into hibernation during the winter.

"Oh! Actually. Would you like us to bring her more than that? We have trunks to keep it in, and she'll get cold in the winter like anything else. She'll go into hibernation if she's too cold. Usually, anyway." She was also growing a lot faster than any of them had expected.
