Elrohir's dark face paled slightly, and his jaw dropped in shock.
"Nina ... what are you doing here?" he blinked. He took a closer look at the child that was with her, and his eyes grew even wider. She looked like ... Donovan ... but ... Kara ... too ...
"Who are you?" he asked stupidly, completely confused.

Lin gave Elrohir a funny look as if he had lost his mind, or maybe he hit his head she thought. She was always told if you hit your head hard enough you could forget things.
"Don't you remember? I'm Lin!" she pipped up as she looked up from where she sat. "Yup yup, Lin and I are here on a visit," Nina replied back happily, "Well.. actually Lin is here waiting for her parental unit to come home and away they'll go into the sunset."

Elrohir stared at Lin. She looked strangely familiar, and not just because she looked so much like Donovan (who apparently was indeed her father, and so he was left with no doubt as to who her mother was) but for some reason he just couldn't figure it out.
"Why do I feel like I've seen you before?" he asked her, cocking his head to one side thoughtfully.

"Because... you took me up the mountain," Lin reminded him, "Don't you remember?"
Not that it was a bad thing for her that he didn't really remember, it meant that he couldn't really get too upset for her leaving things out when she asked them.

"Why in the world would I do a thing like that?" Elrohir blinked. "Children aren't supposed to be up on the mountain ..."
Now he was really confused. First, if he had done it, why did he? And second, why didn't he remember it?
Well ... he had been way beyond tired, that might have had something to do with it ...

"Because I asked you to," Lin replied back matter of factly, "And because I wanted to go up to where Earendil was," she explained a bit more, "So up we went and you carried me all the way up and I stayed there and had talks with Eanrendil and got to see Eldrin's house!"
She smiled sweetly up at Elrohir, not that she meant the sweetly part, it just was a habit of hers.

Elrohir looked down at Lin through narrow eyes. Obviously she had taken advantage of his complete and utter confusion, being so exhausted - though to be fair, he wouldn't have even remembered if he hadn't run into her again. On the one sense, he had to admire her daring, her cheek; but on the other, it sort of irked him that it was so easy for him to be taken advantage of when he was so tired.
"I hope you got what you wanted, then," he said stiffly, and turned to walk away, intent on heading to the Dining Hall for some breakfast.

Lin crawled off Nina and hurried over to Elrohir trying to catch up with him. She wondered if something bit him when she wasn't looking, or at least that's what some people would say. It took a few running strides as she jumped and pounced on his leg, hugging him happily.
She snugged, because he looked like he could use a hug.

Elrohir looked down at the sudden weight on his leg, and seeing Lin snuggling it he did a double take.
"What are you doing?" he asked, raising one eyebrow at her.

"Hugging you," she replied back looking up even though she could only probably see his chest, he was so tall to her (as the majority of the people were), "You looked like you could use a hug."
Nina giggled at that, partly because the kirin found it absolutely funny, "Hugs make the world go around."

Elrohir blinked. Did he really? Well, apparently so. He knelt down to pick her up, saying, "Come on, I'll take you down to breakfast with me."
Why? Because he plain and simply didn't know what else to do. He held her in his arms like a baby and headed towards the tower stairs once more.

Lin smiled being held the way she was, as she watched the scenes passed before her from where she sat in Elrohir's arms.
"Is it almost time for breakfast?"
Nina followed closely, where there was breakfast there was food and where there was food it meant that Nina could have good suneaters for herself.

Elrohir nodded. "Whenever we get there, I'm sure it'll be ready for us," he replied. It always was. "What sort of things do you usually have for breakfast?"

"Fruit!" Lin grinned, "And.. sometimes I share an egg with Mommy or Daddy... but if it's those small eggs I can have one by myself, and then we have biscuit with it. Yukito has waffles sometimes, he shares but he puts too much sugar on his waffles.... Daddy sometimes has a... bao. I'm too little to have things by myself."
Breakfast varied as it was no surprised iwth the mixing of cultures every single morning.

"I meant here," Elrohir chuckled, unable to help himself. "What sorts of things have you been having for breakfast here? For that matter, how long have you been here? You weren't here four days ago, when I left with your dad and your uncles."
