Daddy! How could you tell them!

Sarah, calm down..The men just want to look at these horses, study them..They won't hurt them, I promise.

I've seen tv, daddy..They find new animals and they kill them and open them up and look at their insides!

Where did you hear such a terrible thing?

I saw it on the television..A scientist said so, they killed a baby piglet with two heads and looked inside it, a baby, daddy! They killed a baby! You have to promise me they won't kill Honey and her family. She has a baby, I saw!! Honey had a baby, they can't kill them!

*The man hesitated, looking over, seeing the young black and gold colt nurse from the golden mare. He sighed quietly, knowing he couldent promise anything to her, that the men Crawford was sending probably would capture these creatures and preform autopsies on them, even the foals. It was too late now, even if the pegasus did fly away there were still the flightless ones that remained. How could he tell a horse to hide?*

They won't kill them, I promise..I'll tell them not to..

*Tears in her eyes, she quieted down as he led them back to the beach. His clothes were tattered, torn and burnt from the crash. His shoes were nearly nothing and even his hair was somewhat shorter. His hands and face were dirty with soot and ash, caked on by sweat. He walked onto the beach, well away from the tide and piled wood into a mound. He found two rocks and began scraping them together over some dead grass and woody plants. After several minutes, his fingers getting hot and darker, sparks finally spurted from the rocks and he cupped the grass in his hands, blowing softly into them. As it began to burn, he placed it under some dry, rotting logs and a large fire soon roared this way and that with the changing winds. Hissing occassionaly at the drops of ocean water that would spray over the rocks.*

Even as darkness fell on the island, Ghost did not move from his place, all senses trained in the direction he knew the humans were. An eerie feeling settled over him and no matter how he tried to reassure himself that it was nothing bu the night chill, he couldn't shake it off...

Evander too felt the ominous feeling Ghost felt. He snorted and trotted to Ghost's side. "What do you suppose it is?" He asked him quietly, his crimson eyes gleaming in the darkness.

Prince yawned in his sleep and curled up closer to his mother's side, snorting softly.

*The man sat by the fire, his children and Moddy comming closer, as well. Through the evening silence a static emerged from the radio, a voice overcomming it.*

Jay, this is Crawford one..I have been informed I mussnt send the troops in tonight, it's too late. We'll send for you tommarrow. But we have located the island and any minute now, if not already, a box will be dropped off on the shore. It's filled with necessities.

*The voice went and the static faded and the silence was again interrupted by the distant sound of a helicopter in the distance, growing steadily closer. After several long minutes it was hovering overhead, lowering slowly and the crate dropped, falling on the sand hard, making a dull but loud thud. The sand was blown every which way as was the grass and plants and humans. Without pause, the helicopter gained height again and flew quickly off into the distance.*

Diamond eyed the helicopter. She set a long whinny, and uneasy whinny and pranced next to Jewel. She tossed her head, and her eyes rolled in back of her head, sweat covering her body. She didn't know what this flying creature was, and it scared Diamond as it set her mane whipping against her coat. Jewel woke aburetly and let out a squeal. She scrambled to her feet and raced under her dams belly, hiding. Her tail tucked between her legs and her ears pinched back.

*The man, in the dim sunset, stood up and stayed still as he watched the winged filly sniff about his children. He had grabbed a camera from the crate, and slowly lifted it from the ground. As he held the box up to his face, he slipped a sling around his neck to steady it. The filly, with curiosity, watched the man as he stared at her with the box infront of his face, and suddenly a great flash lit up the night sky for a moment.*

Don't scare her, daddy, she's a baby

Don't worry, Sarah she's fine..Just going to see spots for a few seconds..Don't you and Jacob want a picture to remind you of this island? I bet Mommy would like it, too..

*From the front a slip of paper slid out, he grabbed it and waved it in the air, the picture slowly developing.*

*The man stood, still a bit weary of these horses. All of his life unicorns and pegasus were impossible cratures, how could a horse have a horn? There was no use..How could a horse have wings? Horses are mighty heavy animals, their wings would have to be the size of houses to lift their great weight. They play so rougly, their bones coulden't be hollow like that of a songbird. And even birds are very small and light. He did not bother with the stallion tonight, trying to gain it's trust would take a lifetime, if not longer. He was too old to learn to trust what he's always feared.*

*Sepsis and Moon had fallen asleep, even with the disruption, Dreamcloud was drifting, cuddled next to Kaio and the children were also drifting off. Soon, one after the other, the island fell asleep and dreampt of odd things, fearing the comming day. And as it broke behind the caves, the sound of the returning helicopter arose across the ocean's horizon. It was not alone, following behind was a large plane, somewhat like the one the man had come in. Several minutes passed by as the children and the horses stared, fearing. The heli landed, and slowly the plane descended and landed violently onto the island, creating a trench as it went. It came from the east and passed by the scar the ship had left, seconds went by as nothing came of the two mysterious aircraft, but the man rushed in, all of the island springing into fearful, curious life.*

*As men poured out of the back of the plane, they looked around for a moment, long rods and ropes in their hands, all kinds of different devices. As they rapidly approached, a tall man with curly red hair approached the man.*

Crawford, call off your men, you can't let the people know about these horses, these things arent suposed to exist.

But they do, Jay and now that we've found them do you realize how incredibly rich you and I will both be? You can now fulfill all of your wildest dreams, Jay.

*Jay stepped aside, calling the troops to stop. As the men grew closer, the horses grew uneasy and began backing up, sidestepping. Jay shouted again.*

HAULT!

NO, MEN, GO!

Crawford, call them off!!

I can't do that, Jay, they won't harm the horses, we need these creatures alive to make any money. Otherwise none of the people will belive us, they will think it's a plaster cast.

Crawford, these are living things, some arent even a year old, leave them be!

You're the one who told me about them, if you didn't want me to do this you wouldent have told me about them.

I made a mistake, Crawford!!

*As the men ran towards the horses, some twirled ropes over their heads, some lunged at the horses with these rods. One armoured man pressed the rod to Dreamcloud's rear end, causing her to shake and fall to the ground, a surge of electricity, Kaio squealed as a man grabbed hold of him, and Dreamcloud unsteadily coughed and neighed desperately after her foal. A rope landed around Sepsis' neck and she bucked, Moonstruck backing away as a man came near her, also whirling a rope. Sepsis reared and struck the man's head, he died and fell to the ground and she charged towards the man taking hold of her foal, with an enraged power, she bit hard and tore at the man, tearing off clothing and trampling armor, as she tore down to his flesh she tore away at that, too and salivated all over his open wound, killing him with unbearable pain. As he screamed, rolling on the ground, his leg broken, Spesis was rushed by more and more men, fighting them away from her and Moon as hard as she could, the scene went on, the children hiding.*

Oh for god's sake..

*Craword shook his head in dissapintment, reaching into his coat he pulled out a gun and fired two shots at the gray mare, tranquilizer darts. One hit her in the neck while the other missed, causing her to whinny shrilly at the shock, she twirled round trying to pick the dart from her neck, but it was too far from her reach. Her vision began to fade, causing her to become blind for the time being, and after several long seconds of darkness she could not feel her neck, her head and her back, and finally her legs and she dropped to the ground, seemingly dead. As Crawford watched this with pleasure, He aimed one at the golden mare who was freeing her colt and he shot her twice on her spine. She went down more quickly, loosing the ability to see and to feel all at once, she stumbled around aimlessly, falling to the ground and soon laying still.*

*Sarah leapt up, snatching the dart gun from his hands, as she ran towards Dreamcloud, she set the gun on the ground and knealt near it, feeling her golden mare's chest.*

What did you do to Honey!?

*Jay grabbed his son and ran to his daughter, fearing injury to her, he placed his hand on her arm and she wriggled it away, an angry glare, blinded by tears as she looked around the island. It had once been a relatively peaceful haven, where she could escape and her fantasies ran wild. Unicorns and Pegasus ran free and wild and she could live among them, the only think missing was a beautiful white castle and prince charming. Now she glanced around, horror filling her eyes as blood and death surrounded her. These wonderful creatures being tied up and shot down, and as she looked to the plane, her Honey's baby was being shoved into a cage. She stood and picked the gun up, shooting it in the direction of the man. She fired many shots, some landed on the man infront of her, one on the man shoving Kaio into a cage, most onto the ground, and as the men slowly fell, not all with the armor and thick clothing, she dropped the empty gun and pulled the dart from Dreamcloud's back.*
