I just finished reading Double Eagle and I absolutely loved it. I am a big fan of air combat and this booked looked at something that to be honest is never really talked about in any other book. I would highly recommend it.

Is Rynn's World really that good? I heard complaints regarding bad editing and shoddy story telling.

Thanks, but that won't be necessary, I've got a friend who buys every book that comes out, might borrow it from him when I get the time. I've only recently been able to read Ravenor, so I might get to Rynn's World somewhere around 2014! sweatdrop

Well I've purchased Soul Hunter, Salamander and Heroes of the Space Marines.
I read only like 2 of the Heroes of the Space Marines before getting a bit bored. (Only really liked the one of the Iron Warriors[Honsou!!], didn't much care for the one about the Imperial fists on the bikes.)
Switched over to Soul Hunter and am really really really enjoying it so far. You can tell this book will be good.

Still need to read Salamander, though I did make a small start on Soul Hunter, I stopped after they captured the Navigator, though I do plan on finishing it when I feel like it.
And Heroes is really, really bad with exception of the story of Honsu. The worst in the bunch had to be the Crimson Fist story, just crap.

To be honest. I'm looking forward to what Honsou is planning to do. I mean. Does he really want to attack Ultramar? An not just the subsector or sector but I mean. Does he really want to attack the Ultramarine bases or some crazy shenanigans?
Dun read that unless you want to spoil some books. (Unless you've already read the Ultramarines books an the short story on Honsou.)
How was the short story about the Salamanders? I planned on reading it before the Salamander book, to atleast get a taste of what it'll be about maybe.

Just recently got A Thousand Sons, the Thousand Sons view point of the battle on Prospero and so far I like it, still in the first chapter though. Because of this book, currently the Thousand Sons is up with the Iron Warriors, and Alpha Legion as my most favorite space marine legions.

Thousand Sons is an excellent read, slow to start with the action but it delivers, oh does it ever deliver.
I've finished Nagash the Unbroken yesterday, which was a real page turner as I was really hoping to get to the hinted at fight between Nagash and the Skaven. Instead, we got the creation of vampires and ghouls along with a glimpse at the prince who would slay Nagash the first time. So yeah, this book is suffering from the "second book in the trilogy" syndrome, but it is still a great read.
Right now I've dug back into Soul Hunter, I've been told that it will get good, even better than Abnett. So far, it's okay.
edit.
Soul Hunter's first CMOA: A Night Lord grabs a deaf Imperial Navy crew man, demands to know if he's from the gun decks. The man in panic draws his auto pistol, fires at the head of the Night Lord, only to have bullet ricochet of his helmet and smack into the head of the Navy man. Cue the laughter of one of the other Night Lords.

the Black Library Believe us when we tell you that Space Marine is quite unlike any other Warhammer 40,000 novel you’ve ever read. First published in 1993 – though completed some years earlier – at a time when the background to the Warhammer 40,000 universe was still in a state of flux and not yet fully coalesced, the book follows three young Imperial Fist recruits from their formative years in the underhive gangs of Necromunda through to fighting as part of the First Company within the bowels (literally!) of a Tyranid bioship. Not only will you find squats in this novel –Tzeentch-worshiping squats at that – but also Space Marines controlling Titans, Space Marines with lasguns, the Pain Glove and more than a small amount of toilet humour. Oh, and a Zoat. How could we forget the Zoat? Although the temptation was great to rewrite significant portions of this book to make it conform to current background, as a curiosity piece, an historical snapshot of the Warhammer 40,000 universe circa the early 1990s, this book is invaluable. It also serves as a shining example of what can happen when a respected genre author at the height of his powers is let loose on an established shared universe. burning_eyes
