"And I love how people keep telling me that, 'Oh, you're really a great trainer, Nina! You've got such potential to become an even better person, you just don't realize it, rarara!' They don't need to keep fricking lying to me. Not to mention potential doesn't do a person any good if they can't actually tap into it!"

Nina stopped ranting for a moment, and took a quick breath. She chuckled.

"I just don't understand it," she went on. "Do these people feel so badly for me that they believe lying to me will make me feel better about myself? And are they ignorant enough to not realize that I can read their thoughts from the get-go if I so choose? Telling me I'm a great battler won't make me one!" She kicked at the ground in frustration, splattering sopping wet mud around. "I can't stand it, Raimundo! I just can't! It's too frustrating-- I've worked so hard to get my Pokemon as strong as they are, and it's so disappointing to see them all get cast aside as if they were nothing!" Her body was shaking a little due to her lividity.

Raimundo approached the girl, taking her wrists in his hands, holding her still. He looked straight at her as he spoke.

"Nina, I told you before, losing is a part of being a Pokemon trainer. You can't win all the time. You need to accept your losses along with your wins. I personally believe that losing is a much more valuable experience than winning. You see, if you lose a match, you will learn the flawed areas of your Pokemon, thus allowing you to learn where they need to be improved upon. You should know that there is no perfect Pokemon trainer out there--your friends, Whitney, even Sabrina, they've all had their share of wins and losses, I'd wager. It is due to those losses that they've become the powerful trainers that they are known as. If you aim high and achieve higher, you'll be up with them in no time. I promise." His eyes softened, and his trademark smile appeared back on his lips.

"I... really?" Nina asked. A few tears rolled down from her eyes, but the rain hid this. When she saw her friend nod, her tension seemed to deplete a little, and she let out a soft chuckle.

"So," Rai said, taking her hand, "whaddaya say we head back to the Center? Whit's probably getting the worst thoughts of what we're doing out here." Letting out a bit of a laugh, Nina replied that it'd be a good idea. They headed off a few moments later.

My god, she thought, all of those times my friends have been telling me things that I didn't want to hear... They were true. And they were only looking out for my best interests... I'm such a jerk. I don't deserve the friends I have.

Kilik recalled his partner, clipping the ball back to his belt. "I got to hand it to you, Rena. Your Electabuzz must be high class to have bred something like Elekid." She blushed slightly, nodding at him. She turned when Mike came running back, ready for another round. Other than the battle against Dramon (which she only caught the last half of), she really hasn't seen what Kilik's Pokemon were capable of now that he had left the Rockets.

"Three on three," he repeated with a nod, unclipping one Pokeball from his belt, pressing the button to enlarge it, "I've always wanted a match with you, Mike. Even though I know that your Charizard and Breloom are much higher leveled than anything I've got." His fingers tensed on the ball residing in his grasp. Didn't he also go toe-to-toe with Giovanni? he thought, That's got to take guts...unless he's just an idiot. "So, let's not waste time, shall we?" Kilik smirked, tossing the ball up and catching it.

He came walking back from the Center now, grumbling to himself. "I guess it's a crime in this world to ask a girl if she knows another girl's phone number!" Mazarin lifted his hands into the air and shook them, "Man! Women, they're mysteries, I tell you!" He paused and looked from Rena to Kilik to Mike, then back to Rena. "Oh. What's happenin'?"

Misty flinched a little; having Goldeen bash the floating platform into itty-bitty pieces wasn't exactly the plan. However, it had Sunfire on the run. "Supersonic attack!" Misty called, bracing herself for what was to happen next. Goldeen leapt out of the water once more, its tail fanning out behind it. Its horn shimmered for a moment, then a pulsating, resonating tone rang throughout the gym, causing the windows to vibrate and anyone inside to cringe at the sound. With the attack complete, Goldeen dipped back down into the cool, blue water, waiting to see what would happen next.

Jerk. Mike let out an annoyed snort. Making me pick first. Thinking back, he knew Kilik's ((God I hate my life)) strongest Pokemon was his Flareon, followed closely by Weezing. He didn't know how strong the Bug was, but he decided not to take a risk and assume it was just as strong.

After a moment or so of deliberation, the boy shrugged, sending out the only Pokemon he really could. "Might as well." With a rather unenthusiastic toss, an Ultra ball was sent onto the battlefield. After the usual sparkles, Beacon was revealed, bouncing in place, his ears bobbing up and down.

"Give em hell!" Mike said with a cheery voice.

Keegan nodded slowly listening to the girl speak. "Well then, I was following you. Definitely following you." He shifted a little as she went on, and sighed. "No, that was Sheena. And no, she's not my girlfriend. She's just, well, excitable." He paused, thinking of how to word what he was going to say next. "I guess it's a good thing you're not jealous, because there really was no reason to be jealous in the first place. All right?"

A sharp pain shot through his side and he groaned slightly. "Now that we have this little misunderstanding cleared up, would you mind letting me up? There seems to be a rock trying to imbed itself in my kidney."

Kilik blinked at the Ampharos before him, tossing the ball up one more time and catching it. An Ampharos? Shaking his head, Kilik tossed the ball that he was messing with. The sphere landed on the ground and twitched for a moment. After a moment's hesitation, the ball finally released its contents in a bright flash. The poison-type Pokemon levitated above the ground with a bored expression on his face, looking at Beacon curiously, crossing his eyes a few times making the Pokemon appear in and out of focus. He giggled to himself. "Ready to play, Weezing?"

While the majority of Nina's anger had been lifted off her shoulders, a few bitter thoughts still remained in her mind. She thought of the times she felt excluded from her group of friends, how they all traveled together and she always seemed to be by herself, how just yesterday she was able to go with Mike and Kasiya but was forced to depart due to circumstances involving Maorde...

That doesn't matter though! It's my own idiotic fault for not being more sociable or trying to call them and say hi, or... something! I've got nobody to blame but myself. They're all close with eachother because they actually interact. I'm just the stupid annoying girl that's kept around because nobody has the heart to tell me to get the hell away from them all. And it's my own fault that I'm that person.

"Hm. Well, you're both like, still clean, your clothes aren't like, falling off or anything, and your hair isn't like, messed up or anything. That's, like, a really good sign!" Whitney grinned as she saw Raimundo and Nina roll their eyes. "You're very subtle, you know that?" Sarcasm was ridiculously present in her voice, although Whitney didn't seem to notice it.

"So, like, I know you just got back and junk, but when were you gonna go and try to beat Jasmine?"

The psychic was quiet for a moment. "I want to go now, actually. I just needed to come back and get you, first." She was actually a little shocked at what she had just said, how she wanted to challenge Jasmine immediately, but realized it would be better to do it now than to wait and get psyched out over it.

Nina walked toward the door, opening it and stepping partway outside. "Well?" she said, looking over her shoulder with a smile, "Are you guys coming or not?"

"That is all right. I knew that being on a Pokemon journey was dangerous when he left. Especially with what he is planning on doing. I did not stop him then and even now I still encourage him. He could do anything and I would be proud of him." She said simply. "So why did you start on your Pokemon journey?"

There was silence in the room as both Dante and Meowth stared at each other. After a moment Meowth sighed. "I do want to help you out but I do not want to go looking for Legendary Pokemon with you. I dont think its a good idea and I do not think that you should be doing it." He said shaking his head.

They were quite for a few minutes before Dante said softly. "So I guess this is it?"

They were silent for a few moments more as it sunk in. "Yeah, I guess it is." Meowth finally said.

"Come here." Dante said motioning over to the bed tha the was in. Curious the cat pokemon went over and jumped up on it. "I hope that traveling with me has been a good experience for you. I hope you leave and become your own person and not some lacky or another trainers pokemon." He said before doing what his Mom always did when she did something that was tough for her. He gave Meowth a small kiss on the top of his head before looking away somewhat embarrised. "Umm, good luck."

Blinking a few times before smiling slightly Meowth just turned to leave the room. "Thank you for everything Dante. Your a good kid and I do hope you make your dreams come true." With that being said Meowth left the room and Dante's team forever.

Goodbye Meowth! I shall miss you!

"Oh yay, your Weezing!" Mike said with a slight giggle, he always liked the dorky ball of gas. All pleasantries aside, he needed to start the fight off quick, Beacon was blessed with neither an impressive move list or a wide array of higher brain functions. "Thunderbolt it Beacon, start us off strong!"

"Hi hi." He said with his usual nasally voice. Waddling forward a few hops, the Ampharos shook his body, building up an electrical charge and shooting it right towards the Poison Gas Pokemon.

"Oh! I'm sorry," Kasiya cried, and stood up, brushing herself off. She couldn't help but feel a little relieved, although she didn't quite know why. "I didn't mean to tackle you," she added, shrugging a bit. "It's not everyday that people just appear out of nowhere. Speaking of which, how'd you get here so fast? I sent that message pretty late last night." Fairly certain he'd end up following her, she started walking towards the gym again, her hands behind her head. "I haven't even made my challenge yet." She thought of the irritating glass walls she'd have to find her way past, and sighed. Gym puzzles were part of the test after all, weren't they?
PostPosted: Tue Mar 13, 2007 5:38 pm

"Thank you," Keegan mumbled, and picked himself up off the pavement. He stared incredulously at her when she said she hadn't meant to tackle him. What exactly had she been trying to do then, lead him into a waltz?

He paused, watching her walk ahead of him for a moment before he decided on an appropriate answer. "I called in a favor," he said simply. His thoughts were pulled back to the icy look in Sheridan's eyes, and the fear present in the young Vulpix. The feeling that overcame him then was like he'd jumped into a pool of icy water, and he shivered despite the warm sun shining down on them. "That's how I managed to get here so fast," he said finally, his voice a little sad as he walked after her, slipping his hands into his pockets.

"You master call you Bacon," Weezing laughed a bit, spinning around in the air very slowly. He tilted on his axis slightly, mostly forward towards Beacon. The bolt went right through the center of the Pokemon, where there was a space, and collided with the ground below. "Weezing! Use Sludge!" Kilik called out. Now that he thought about it, Weezing really didn't know many other moves that would cause damage. After this, I'm getting him new moves... he thought, My wallet is looooaded. Weezing made a gagging noise, following by a belch, which was then continued with a black gunk that fired from his mouth.

"Man, is it just me, or did my IQ drop a few points when Kilik and his buddy released those two?" Mazarin asked Rena, pointing at both Weezing and Ampharos.

"You mean you had an IQ to start with?" Rena giggled.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 13, 2007 5:54 pm

Mike let out a stupefied gasp as Weezing 'dodged' the attack so easily. "Agh!" What's worse is that Beacon was hit by the grime, even though it didn't do a major amount of damage, it was the principal of the matter! "Try another Thunderbolt, hit him this time!"

Not noticing Weezing's off handed comment was direted towards him, the Ampharos worked up another static charge. "Ano!" He cried, throwing his arms in the air and releasing another lightning bolt towards his foe. Even he wanted it to hit this time.

The night went well for Ky. The extra blanket happened to give him just enough warmth to make it through the night in the cold, though it also left him sweating a bit when he slept into the day. Waking up, he was met by strange stares as trainers saw Ky's odd resting place, right next to the PokeCenter's window. He simply smiled at them as he folded up his blanket and sleeping bag. He then returned to the Pokemon Center.

"Thanks for the blanket, Nurse Joy," Ky said as he placed the blanket on the counter.

"No problem. I'm guessing you had a good rest. If you're looking for your friends, M.A. is sitting over there," she said, pointing towards a couch.

"Thanks," Ky said again. He saw M.A. just sitting on the couch, looking to be in a daydreaming kind of state. "Hey M.A.! Have you happened to see Crenu anywhere?" He found it odd that Crenu wasn't around. Then a thought came to mind. 'I bet he's fighting Bugsy. That would explain why he was gone. He must've been training,' Ky thought.
