How could one evening both drag and fly by? Zell trotted between Maryline's closet and her, over and over and over again. Duuuude! He was sure glad there was not any plans for the family to give each other gifts at Christmas! Though... he did see the fun of making sure everyone had a simple little bit of something to feel special over. Maybe that's what the stocking tradition he'd heard about was good for. Small things, just for fun and warm fuzzies.

He watched Peter's fuzzy white face smile and the rabbit hop away -telekineticly floating his present above him as he hopped away after his charge. Zell gave a huge wave and grin to everyone as he stepped past Maryline to wish everyone a happy Renascibilitas before making sure the door was shut so that not only could everyone get back to whatever room they wanted -Trel had already taken Theron to have his bath and some of the fae and smaller creatures who liked such things followed- but it gave Maryline & him the privacy Zell found he was near desperately craving. Putting a hand on the wall, the other on the door, with arms on either side of her Zell leaned in and kissed his girl tenderly and warmly but chastely on the forehead. He vibrated lightly with longing to take her into his arms but he wanted to give her the chance to cool down from everyone if she needed to. "Heh Heh. Yea, woman-princess... sure is."

He wasn't even thinking of his own present, his 'surprise' Maryline had promised him for after dinner. Everything Zell could possibly want... he was looking slightly down upon her with tenderness in his smiling hazel-blue eyes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Run away? The degrees of silent shock were apparent on the faces of all three though with degrees of variety suitable to their personalities. They let the matter drop, none sure what to say about that. Percy's lips pressed tightly together and he looked away. He had in a way himself 'run away' when he chose the Ministry over his family. He was not proud of what he had done now... but then he was so full of righteousness. His thoughts were still there when he dared to glance as he felt Anon's eyes upon him -and then wished he had not as she said such things about him. Oh his face was completely crimson, Percy could tell. It probably felt like he had a fever to the touch, as hot as his skin felt to him. At least feathered ears should hide the blush there.
Ginny blinked, not having expected such a reaction and certainly not ever having expected to hear Percy described in such a way. The blonde was nodding, absently looking off to the east with a tiny blush of her own and a sweet, dreamy smile in her blue eyes as she removed coat and gloves as if in a trance. "da... they are, aren't they...?" That brought Ginny around. "Suuure... we all know you're thinking of a certain shy little alchemist" Illyana's faint blush spread & darkened. "Huh. All that about Perce? huff. He's just a brother" And considering she had 6 of those... well Ginny certainly had experience with the concept. Having brothers that was. There was only one boy she would ever really like, though if she became bored enough and met someone interesting enough she might consider dating again. Purely dating. She was simply no longer interested in snogging anyone else. So she probably understood more than the others about hurting after someone & boyfriends being out of the question.
Concerned Percy lifted his eyes to Anon. The name Lucifer was traditionally not associated with good things. Anon hurt because of him? The wizard's frown deepened and he looked down at his cocoa as he sipped anew.
>>She watched him contently as he crossed over to her and poked his head out the door to the many creatures outside. The door closed, and a shadow fell upon her. Bright blue eyes flicked up at the blonde, her heart quickening slightly as he leaned down. How many months? And the male still made her blood sing with the barest of movements<< Except... >>Her breath fluttered as she stepped forwards and sweetly kissed his lips. She only had a moment before his arms encased her, and in truth, her body anticipated it. But...she couldn't melt yet. Not quite yet. Maryline bobbed under an arm a second after her lips touched his, leaving the intense little corner that had been created<<...for you. >>It was almost the single hardest thing for her to walk away from the man, and to her dresser. There she proceeded to open her little blue bag and pull out a drawer. She reached in and slipped a small object into the pouch right before closing it, and walking back towards the door. Maryline reached for the handle<< Yours...is outside.
>>Which of course, she innocently blinked at him, hand going still on her neck. That was a bright shade of red! Had she said something wrong?<< Heh, he really isn't that bad. Bit rough around the edges certainly, but diamonds can be found in the blackest coal, ya know? >>Another sip at her drink, gaze flicking now to Ginny. She lowered the mug and swallowed<< Bad boys are all right and good for flings, but its the sweet ones that'll last. He's going to make some gal very happy one day. >>And now her eyes flicked back to percy, bright and cheerful<< So, what days good to play?
His eyes flickered closed for the flutter of her lips on his and Zell reigned in his disappointment as from there she slipped away. That's why he was holding back anyway, right? Still... he couldn't help but be a little disappointed. After their day.
Wai-it... 'except'? Yea. Delayed reaction. Only his head moved, turning to watch her as if he didn't trust the rest of himself now that he got himself into that position. Zell blinked. For him? A slow sheepish smile spread across his boyish features. Duuuude... He'd forgotten all about it. Zell moved to lean casually against the doorframe where Maryline had been as she came back, arms folded just as casually over his chest.
He put his hand over hers with a grin. "Outside? Let's see it then." A merry twinkle in crinkled eyes that almost but didn't quite wink and he was helping her open the door, not touching her anywhere but the contact of those hands as he 'followed' with jaunty step behind her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Last? Illyana's thoughts were indeed drifting... but now wondering once again what her feelings really were for the younger Elric. They weren't thoughts she cared to share, not being much of one for sharing such things anyway. Her fingers lightly touched the crown on her golden waves, pale skin still blushing softly. Meanwhile Percy's blush was only increasing. If that was even possible. Ginny was making a face. "He's still a brother...." She muttered softly, at the same time -somehow- snickering at her brother's discomfort.

A discomfort which just went to nearly shooting his hot chocolate out of his nose. Percy coughed and sputtered, something he had been trying not to do at Anon's last comment but that came out when she asked about playing. Thankfully it quickly became apparent to Percy that she was talking about the video games before he could really get embarrassed. "ah, eh... any? I guess?" Dark eyes blinked behind horn-rimmed glasses. He thought they weren't to see each other after today... right? Was that changing?

>>The princess lightly blushed as he overlapped her hand with his own, shyly glancing up at him<< I can only hope that you like it. >>She turned the handle and stepped out, walking into the hallway with Zell. The female then turned her hand to take his, and reached back to close the door. She stopped them in the hallway<< I love you. >>And that hand that had closed the door, reopened it, having it swing inwards. And there it stood. Amongst a glorious garden, the massive castle manor sprawled out before them behind a gleaming white gate in the setting sunlight. Halographic gaurds stood at stiff patrol on the horse beaten path leading in, with sentries all around. The spirals of the manor stretched high into the pinkish blue sky, grasping at the clouds as birds twined past. Her home. Her Kingdom. As she remembered it in her most coveted memories<< Welcome to Dreia.

eek Deep breath percy! Are you alright? You've been acting a little...odd. >>Her soulfull eyes flicked with concern as he choked on his beverage. She didn't think a guys face could get so red before!<< Did you catch a cold outside? Oh! I know this great recipe for chicken noodle soup... sweatdrop too bad I can't cook.

"How couldn't I?" Zell asked. Playful. Lovingly. Dude... she was so cute when she blushed! "It's from you." Damn... but he wanted to kiss her when she said that, voice husky as he murmured a loving but silly "Me you too" as she opened the door and he gasped.

Hazel-blue eyes were wide as keeping her hand Zell stepped inside and pulled her along with him. Stunned beyond words he shut the door automatically behind them and just as automatically placed what door it was in the scene so they could get back to it. He jogged forward a few paces, her hand still engulfed in his. Eyes bright he turned from the sight to just beam at Maryline. "Dude, girl... D'ya know how much I wanna just hold ya right now?" A warm chuckle rolled from him, billowing out and falling like an easy waterfall. " 'I can only hope that you like it' " Zell mimicked her with happy jest. "Maryline, this rocks! I mean... it's totally awesome! Gettin' to see your home..." Zell shook his head, smiling in stunned & muting shock. Words were failing him again, and his body was vibrating with how much he wanted to take her in his arms... to swing her around. He couldn't think of a better present. Seeing Maryline's home, getting to walk through it... why it was getting to know more about her! How awesome was that?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He could hardly say he was fine could he? Percy certainly did not feel fine. "No. No. Not a cold." Why would he get a cold anyway? "Perce is always odd." Ginny interjected with all the straightforwardness of a little sister. Which she was.
"You can't cook? Just a soup?" Couldn't everyone cook soup?
>>Tick...the male stepped onto the fresh green grass. In the real world, frost held tight to the world. But in her memory, Dreia remained in a perpetual spring, where the ocean and gardens held the most beauty. The door closed behind them, and she was yanked forwards with his jog, giving a soft gasp of surprise. She almost ran into him when he stopped<< N-no? >>She uttered in shock up at the male, eyes slightly wider. She had been hoping that he'd like it, but never did she think he would love it<< I...wanted you to see...my family. >>Maryline straightened, and took a deep breath, interlacing their fingers<< Perhaps we shall get to my Father by the days end yet. >>And she walked forwards with that, gently leading the fistfighter with her before he decided he went long enough with next to no contact. The gaurds instantly tensed, and moved towards eachother to pull the gates open. She bowed her head towards them<< Sir Christoph...Sir Melhide... >>She was not lying when she said she had memorized every name within her castle<<
Uhhh....If I try to make a soup...it might try to eat me in revenge for spawning it. sweatdrop Putting it lightly. I once tried making a cake from scratch before. It literly did try to eat me then. >>Well...not really, but it might have if she had let it bubble over enough to escape the oven on its own<< I can make anything in a box. I can do boxes. Macoroni and cheese...poptarts...I can make spaggetti...
This was just too cool. Again he held off holding her, some subconscious thing saying that it would be all the sweeter when he did if he held off now. Zell contented himself with their laced fingers. "Wha? Your Pops?" Then it was back to stunned silence, letting Maryline lead him along as he contemplated & internally fretted over meeting Maryline's father. He'd never met a King before. Closest was meeting a President -and somehow Zell figured meeting Squall's Pops, Laguna Loire, didn't count. Didn't even come close. He fell into more of his 'SeeD step' beside her... and then nearly tripped as the holographic guards reacted. Despite his training Zell's eyes went wide. "You recreated the people? So guess I should be on my best behavior?" He whispered for her ears only. It didn't matter that these were recreations of long dead persons. It wasn't really about impressing a program. It was about respecting their memories... respecting that they were persons important to Maryline. And a little bit of curiosity. If these memory holographic imprints reacted as the real persons would have... perhaps he could see how her father would react to him. As a king... Zell couldn't imagine him being very fond of Zell's complete lack of pedigree. It'd be hard to impress the king... but perhaps the man could dig him.
>>She stepped through the gates, moving slowly towards the manor entrance. Which of course, was a good half an hour walk from the gate entrance, the highly lavished garden unfolding on eitherside of them with rose bushes, dafodils, tulips, and the like. Slowly, she shook her head, a bit...sad<< This is all my memory of what was. All these people have long since passed on, and how much is left of my castle? >>The gates swung shut behind them, but the princess never so much as glanced behind her<< How could I fortell how they would react to their Princess bringing in a commoner, much less holding his hand? >>The gardeners looked up as they passed, falling into deep bows at the sight of their main Lady. The things they repeated day in and day out for her. Though perhaps...perhaps the people she knew most could...perhaps<<
Zell nodded. There was so much possible with the magic of the door and yet... so much it couldn't do. He wasn't sure if he could even try what Maryline had done: to recreate even a reflection of her memories within the people she knew. How could he recreate Ma, if Ma couldn't be as he remembered her? Maybe it worked for guards, who didn't move and didn't respond anyway... but Ma? Who Zell was sure would greet Maryline with the same open arms she'd have for him? Naw. He couldn't do that. Couldn't chance her being like some marionette. So he was just viewing 'a day in the ordered life', huh? He could dig that. He did dig that. Zell grinned. That also meant...
He lifted their joined hands, bringing the back of hers to his lips as he took a step closer so that as they walked, they touched. Hazel-blue eyes twinkled at her over their hands, his brow arching & waggling. No reason not to make this stroll even more enjoyable, heh?
It hadn't really dawned on Zell yet that Sir Mujaki would likely be one of those they would see.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Well, not everyone can cook. Even if they want to. Why, my kitsu self won't let Miaka even in the kitchen alone for all the times she's tried to set it ablaze." Ginny waved off the problem with a warm laugh & bright smile. "Cooking from boxes is at least a good many steps up from that."

Percy nodded to his sister's words, offering an attempted smile that still bore his confusion. How had they got on the matter of cooking again anyway? Illyana was no help, gazing off and giggling at something no one else could know -most likely.

Should he bring it back around to the video games? If he did, it would seem like he wanted to... did he want to never live that down? Ginny would be sure to tell Ron & the twins at least. Probably all of their brothers, truthfully. The twins would be worst though -with their constant teasing & needling. Sure, Bill & Charlie would have their fun with it but never to the extent or annoyance as the twins.

His hands wrapped around his cup, too focused. Anon would likely go home in his robes, the way he was avoiding thinking about it. He had gotten quite accustomed to being without them, to be honest. At any rate... it was easier to forget than think about Anon wearing them.

"Anyway.... weren't you talking about setting up a date with my dear stick-in-the-mud brother, or would you really rather play nursemaid to his ills of embarrassment?" Brown eyes sparkled with nearly as much mirth as the twins were capable of. Oh yes... she had gone there. Even Illyana came out of her reverie, and Percy... Percy looked as if he would rather the floor opened up and swallowed him.

((Creepest thing ever, I actually was thinking last night while I went to sleep of what it would be like if they met up with Halogram mujaki))

>>Him and Maryline both. She barely thought up to her father, about seeing him, how good it would feel to hug him; improper or not. Speaking of which...she softly blushed as he kissed her hand, feeling his leg slightly brush against hers. Perhaps it wasn't too late to just, go back. Dissapear into her room for the rest of the night to show him this another day. Alas...they were already halfway to the manor. Curse her soul<< You cannot fanthom how different this feels. >>So close with a man who was not her knight and approaching one of the most dignified establishments in the world? Different indeed<<

I once caught the kitchen counter on fire... >>She murmered absent mindedly, taking another sip at last. Here, she finally sputtered, face turning a deep red<< Well...I... >>she reached up to wipe a drop of hot cocoa off of her cheek<< yes. A date. A month, a day, a time. Um. How does next week sound to you percy? I can do next week. Wensdays are best, but fridays are good too. Really... sweatdrop

Spiked blonde head shook, his eyes lightening from their mischievous sparkle. "Nope. Can't." Zell might not be her knight anymore in name and position, but he was as good as still being so in his heart when it came to protecting her. But he had none of the thoughts Maryline did about the situation. Even able to put off how much he would like just what she thought of a possibility in the light of this new adventure. Enough for the moment he was pushing a limit -even in his own mind- at the additional contact.

Besides... he fully expected to disappear into Maryline's room after the tour.

"So you walked around here everyday? That'd keep ya fit." Zell winked playfully between taking in the sights all around him. So cool.

"I can be free on Wednesday..." Percy started with a wave and a thin smile.

"Oh, Perce is always free. I'll even tell Seifer to schedule around it for you." Percy coughed intentionally. "I cn handle that myself, Ginerva." Yes. Intentional use of his sister's proper name. "Don't call me that!" her brother shrugged & pretended he did not hear her. Illyana laughed softly.

>>As they moved, a slight splash was heard, but she didn't turn her head. No, she knew very well of the small, man made 30 by 40 foot pond to the right. Rimmed with white marble and a little outcropping for her to be surrounded by water in three directions. Like the three other small ponds surrounding the main manor, it was filled with a collection of multi-colored fish who bobbed to the surface whenever she came near<< When I found the time, yes. This is a very serene area. One of my favorite places to go. >>A light breeze, carrying the scent of a thousand flowered mixed into one unique fragrance, lightly wisped past them to the tall pine trees surrounding them. Their back was covered in thick, dense forest, perfect for hunting, and putting the finishing touch of the beautiful front yard of her home. They came to a straight away, the path narrowing as rose bushes turned into hedges. Two gaurds stood at the thick wooden door, held at attention the instant they saw her, sweat on their brow<<

>>she drowned the last of her hot cocoa before abruptly standing, shaking her head<< Ah! Well, then its settled. Wensday, noonish. I should be heading out now, solstice getting worried and all. And I really have stayed here longer then I should. I'm just gonna start heading home how, it was very nice meeting you all... >>She turned, looking around blankly before locating it. She instantly strolled towards it, still holding her mug. The female paused infront of it, clearing her throat slightly<< Um...what...general direction...is my house?

He did look at the splash, curious. But then this was all wonderfully new to Zell and he wanted to soak up every little detail. Because it meant something to Maryline. "Nice for that."

Zell nodded as he looked around with an easy smile, completely at ease. Noticing how the sweat appeared on the guards he didn't even think but flashed them a bright, reassuring grin. Easy to forget they would not react to him, but old habits die hard. "Why're these ones more scared of ya than the others?" He murmured, again more out of habit than anything.

Different gaurds. >>They obviously tried not to look at her as she approached them, however twin gulps motioned at her nod, pretending not to see her as they quickly turned as one and hurried to open the large doors for her<< I once caught them sleeping under this shade upon the close of horseback riding. Gave them both such an ear boxing, they almost began to weep. >>And slowly, her proper voice was creeping back<< If they were to ever slumber on their shift again, I warned I would have them drawn into town, every stitch taken from their bodies, and stood to be switched in town square. For the remainder of my stay, they were never caught again. >>They walked through the entrance, into the first room of the huge castle. It was large, triple the size of Marylines room at zells cottage, with a painted ceiling high over their heads of angels flying amongst eachother in the clouds. Chandaliers hung from them from seemingly delicate gold chains, their soft candlelight illuminating the room even as the large paintings ten feet from the ground, splashed light onto the floor. Vast halways streteched out to their left and right, with a large staircase rising directly opposite. Red carpeted, this staircase again broke off into a Y before joining again in the center, the top corners branching off into opposite directions for even more hallways. But the center of it, where the stairs made a upside down triangle, had a rather large picture. It held three people. A tall, handsome man in red and gold, a large red crown upon his head. His face was kind, but hard, sharp blue eyes piercing the painter for every hour they stood for its creation. Standing to the left of this guilded man, was a slim boy of about 18. Short, gleaming silver hair brushed into gentle gold eyes, the crimson webbed wings gently pressing into his back. Hard work and tremendous stress were already etched onto his face, but there was still a strong sense of boyishness to him. And his hand rested upon the backing of the luxorious chair. And in it...cascades of gold flowed freely down her neck and back as Maryline smiled at the painter. The dress she wore was high collar with lace and frills of a soft lilac color, long sleeved and poofy, though try as her father did, it didn't hide her slim waist. Her hands were folded in her lap, heartshaped face slightly tilted as her bright blue eyes shone. The painter had made her gorgeous, truely a very high class work given the time frame. And almost realistic enough to seem as though she would just stand and walk out of the painting to join the living Maryline. A truly beautiful family portrait from a painter in Spain<< Which direction do you wish to go?

Well duh they're different guards... Zell thought to himself having seen the differences of face and not just in their reactions. But even had he been intending to voice it he didn't, torn between laughing & guffawing at the 'why' Maryline was telling him. Hazel-blue eyes went wide.

"Dude! No way!" Yet it was a hushed exclamation, filled with awe. That was some threat! And knowing Maryline... not an idle one. His lopsided grin held his pride of her. Sure... sucked to be the guards, but that was cool! You don't slack on a mission. Sure, Zell would be playful and could probably never pull a guard duty like that as far as standing still... but he would never sleep on the job.

It was all he could do at first not to whistle appreciatively as they entered the first room. Until his gaze fell upon the painting and any chance of whistling was gone at the sight of it. Maryline, of course drew his eyes first as she always would. When he could look from her to her companions... well it did not take a genius to figure out who the men where. Her father the king looked like the epitime of the perfect king, and Zell found himself feeling the teensiest bit (or perhaps more) glad he wouldn't have to be facing the real king considering Maryline & his relationship. Not that he would balk from doing it... but it sure seemed daunting even from just his portrait. Then there was the other...

His eyes did not harden as one might think for a rival, but softened in compassion that the knight who had so clearly been her friend could never see her again. Oh, he was glad not to have to fight him for Maryline's affections... but to never see her again at all? Young, boyish optimism half-wished that there had been a way they could all be friends. Especially looking at him now in that picture: younger, his age. Woah. That was kinda heady to think about.

"Huh?" Zell blinked a moment, not having expected the question then laughed softly with a trace of embarrassment. "Dunno... I don't know where either leads. Guess we could always go left." His shoulders shrugged, reiterating that one was really as good as the other to him but that if she really wanted him to choose he had.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He just blankly nodded as the day was set, rising also to his feet as she did in an almost gentlemanly fashion. Percy's movement was more reserved however, as if a habit or teaching he was not sure he should do but performing anyway. He was getting a little confused at all these changes. One minute they're just coming here, the next saying they're going to ply video games and he has no real choice in the matter, the whole what-the-heck was up with the aerial stunt thing, and now time for hot chocolate taking longer than the time she was planning they'd play video games? Or at least... that was what Percy could make of it. Which wasn't much. The red-headed boy shook his head to either make some sense of it or clear it. "It was nice meeting you too, Anon. No more curling in snowbanks though, got it?" "That goes double for me." Ginny said with a smile, gaze then going to her brother expectantly.
"Here... I'll walk you out and point you in the right direction if you wa..." His sister's voice didn't let him finish. "What!! Don't tell me you're not intending to see her home, Percy Ignatius Weasley!!" Percy sputtered & floundered, eyes widening behind his glasses. But they could be at this for ever if they continued insisting on seeing each other home. That's how he was in this mess with this strange girl in the first place!
