With a final clanking of the cargo ramp for the Pride of Mantell clattering closed Revak turned to the captain, "So we'll make the modifications on Bestine?"

"Yes Revak, plus there I'll be able to update my ship's registry so we can do it legally." With a sigh pushed back from the console and punched in a quick code, "Good thing your ships are so hard to detect on sensors, having two starfighters in the hold tends to attract imperial attention."

"Yes, and we don't want to much trouble." Revak nodded slowly.

Jenel grinned, her eyes glancing otu the bridge, "Alright. Ord Mantell control, this is Pride of Mantell requesting clearance for departure."

"This is control, good luck Mantell. Clearance granted."

As Link walked the darkened streets of Paradise City, he found himself passing an empty city block.

He paused and glanced at the square, noting it wasnt completely empty. A Statue of Boba Fett, the man who liberated Ord Mantell from the Vong, stood there like a sentinel, the T-shaped visor of its carved helmit glaring at the city spread out before it.

Intrigued Link stopped and looked up at the statue.
Fett, the most legendary bount Hunter in the galaxy and one of the great unsung heroes of the Vong war.

Link gave a brief chuckle. "A Complex individual, that one."

Movement caught Link's eye and he turned, his hand on his sword and ready to draw.

In the empty street, a solitary figure stood there.
He was clad in Snow White full Mandalorian armor over a black body suit, a high powered carbine gripped in his hands, a kama attached to his ladden equipment belt, and a sash was flipped over his left shoulder and billowed in the breeze. The nose cone of a rocket/jetpack combination, a mandalorian favorite, poked over his shoulder. Strapped to his right leg was a holster for a heavy blaster pistol, obviously customized.

Link's eyes narrowed.
This man was not like the last Mandalorian he fought. This man was the real deal. He bore the aura of a proffesional warrior, one who was a master of his hard one art. There was no boasting, no bluffing in his stance. Just calm certain death."

"Are you here to avenge the defeat of your friend? The Mando who attacked the Dead Space?"

The silent warrior gave no answer, not even a shake or nod. He just continued to stare coldly at the jedi.

"Then if not that, then what do you want?" Link asked, his hand seeking purchase on his sword's hilt.

"You." The Mando stated in a raspy, gravelly voice.

Link's eyes narrowed. "Fine. If defeat is what you wish, then come."

"As you wish, Jetii." The Mando stated flatly. He raised his blaster and fired in one swift, smooth action.

The Red Bolt raced towards Link and quickly the Jedi darted out of the way.

Link suddenly charged, closing the gap between the two in an instant, and drew.
His sword struck, but did not cut, striking the Mando as though he had struck a solid metallic object.

Link's confusion lasted just long enough for the Mando to grab the jedi's shoulder.
A massive electrical jolt thundered into Link, transfered from the Mando's gauntlet. Link gave a cry of pain as he was jolted.

With a sudden throw, the Mando hurled Link across the street and snapped up his blaster. The man's range finder slid down and he snapped off a trio of blasts, fireing from the hip.

Stunned as he was Link barely managed to control his landing, let alone dodge the bolts. One of them pierced his cloak and another came so close he recieved a burn across his side.
Link flipped to his feet, his sword held up in an Onguard stance.
"Nifty trick." Link said with a wince.

"Beskar over a powered armor liner. Your sword cant cut Mandalorian Steel, and the impact absorbtion of the liner rendered even that blow inconsiquential." The Mando nodded to Link as he drew an attachment from his belt and slapped it to the underside of his carbine with a click.

Link winced again as he shrugged off the pain.
"That hardly seems sporting." Link stated as he shifted his stance. The man had attached a micro-grenade launcher to his carbine.

"Neither do Force powers. I just leveled the playing field." With that the Mando pumped the grenade launcher and send a cylindircal mini-grenade on a direct course with Link.

Link sped himself up in an attempt to escape the grenade's blast radius as it exploded with a burst of smoke and shrapnel.
A fragment slid across Link's cheek, cutting a line across it.
That was too close.

The Mando didnt pause and instead fired another grenade at his jedi opponent and Link dove behind the cover of a land speeder left parked in the street. The vehicle took a hailstorm of shrapnel, but held. The jedi was glad he wouldnt be sticking around long enough to explain what happened to it though.
This is getting me nowhere. Link thought. Time for some counter measures.
Link lept over the badly damaged speeder and faced his opponent, holding his sword pointed at his opponent.

The Mando snapped off another grenade with a crack as the round was expelled from the barrel.

Link stepped back and swept his blade bfore him in a horizontal slash, blending a force push with the sweep of his sword.

Caught on the wave of Link's Force push wave, the Grenade turned back on its owner. The Mando suddenly rocketed away on his jetpack as the grenade burst apart in his wake. He landed on the top of a small shop and flipped a setting on his blaster. Leveling it at Link, he opened up with a full auto burst.

Link's eyes widdned in surprise and he Force sped away as the blaster fire traced his path. The Jedi dove behind the corner of a building grabbing whatever cover he could. As he tried o catch his breath, he noticed a singed burning smell. He glanced down at his cloak and arched an eyebrow as its hem was almost entirely burned off.

"The Way of the Iron Dragon may not be enough for this man." Link muttered to himself as he slid his sword back into it's sheath. "Annoying it is to have only one of my sabers, but it should be enough."

Before he could make his next move, Link's ears caught a rapidly nearing screech a moment too late and could only brace himself for impact as the building corner exploded.

Link slowly blinked awake, feeling entirely in pain. he growned as he felt heavy weight pressing down upon him.

Must remain calm. Focus. Exhale pain, inhale strength.

He forced himself to breath in a regular manner, set his mind to ignore the pain that arced through him and he pushed himself out of the rubble as the permacrete chunks and rebar bits fell away from him.

"Ow..." he muttered. And he meant it. He felt he had at least a dozen painful bruses and several new cuts and scraps. But he was still alive.

He shook the dust from himself and looked up to see the Mandalorian outside the pile of rubble, staring at him like a spectre of death.

He was missing his rocket. That explained the incredible damage it did.
"Su'cuy, Jetii." He said dryly.

Link drew his lightsaber from his sleave and slapped it to his scabbard's metallic casing. He kicked the rubble aside and stanced as though he were going to draw his sword, instead grasping his saber hilt.

The Mando just pointed his gun at the wounded jedi and snapped off a shot.

Faster than thought, a blue blade crashed into the bolt and sent it flying back at the mando.

The Bolt caught the Mando in the chest and rocked him back on his heels.
Before he could recover Link was upon him and had severed the man's gun barrel from it's stock, then had smashed the saber into the side of the man's helmit.

The Blow could not cut through the Mandalorian steel, but it did knock the Mando back.

"Way of the Star Dragon: Return the Package followed by Magpulse Strike." Link stated as he stanced again, his dark blue blade humming menacingly.

Unfazed, the Mando snapped up his left arm and fired a gout of flame at the Jedi. Link swept his hand and a stiff wind blew the flame away from him. Swiftly the Mando burst forward, aided by a small blast from his jet pack, and slammed hs gauntleted right hand into Link's jaw, sending the young Jedi flying. Link quickly backflipped and landed on his feet some ways away, his lip bleeding.

"I didn't bother to name that one." The Mandalorian remarked in his raspy flat voice. He raised his left arm again and fired not a gout of flame but a blaster bolt that Link quickly parried. The Hunter swiftly drew the modified heavy blaster pistol at his hip and fired that, which Link also deflected.

The Mando begain firing both blasters at his foe, gradually drawing closer as his blaster bolts kept Link from taking the offensive. Then he flipped his right wrist over and fired a whip chord at the Jedi, the chord quickly binding Link's arms to his side.

With two strides the Mando closed the distance between him and the Jedi and pistol whipped Link across his face, knocking him to the ground.

He placed his boot on Link's chest and leveled the heavy pistol at Link's head.
Tied up, beaten and defeated, Link grit his teeth as he stared down the grooved barrel of the blaster pistol.

"You fought well, Jetii. Much better than much of your kind." The Mando said in that coldly emotionless tone."You were good practice."

Link's bruised face went from resigned to confused.

"I needed the work out. Its been some time since Ive hunted down Jetiise, and what with the recent bounty posting on your kind, I thought I'd get back into shape. But for you I'm making this a case of catch and release."

The Mando stepped off the jedi and holstered his pistol.

"You spared that di'kut Norran's life when he took that job for Gordo. You also openly reveiled yourself as Jetiise to stop the lizards and chiss from destroying the spaceport in their petty feud. That took guts in this age."
The Mando flipped his sash back over his shoulder and continued. "I can respect guts."

"Who are you?" Link asked as he struggled to a sitting position.

The man was silent for a moment and glanced briefly at the century old statue of Boba Fett down the street.
Then he turned and answered.

"I am Mandalore the Immortal, Lord of the Mando'ade. Remember that name, Jetii, remember it and fear it."

With that, Mandalore swept up the pieces of his carbine and turned down an alley, walking until he disapeared in the Darkness.

Link struggled against the whip chord and sighed.
"Terrific. And this one had just gotten all cleaned up too. Oro...He could have at least helped me get out of this thing..."

A blasterbolt screamed back up the alley and flashed past Link, burning through the whip chord.

Link blinked in stunned amazement and quickly shrugged the broken chord off. As quickly as he could manage he made his way out of that part of town, having had more than enough excitement for the day.

Elladan began his prepared dialogue. "I'm a member of the Loyalist Empire, those loyal to the late Emperor Roan Fel. We're in rebellion against the Sith led by Darth Krayt, who have seized control of the Imperial Navy after the assasination of Fel and the Council of Moffs. Our main goal is to overthrow Krayt and defeat his forces and replaces the Fels on the throne."

"What's the state of your military?" Mandalore asked.

"We have two systems under our sway as of a week ago: Wayland and Taris. we attempted to seize Bestine, but the Sith already moved their, and we've set our sites on Onderon most recently." Elladan didn't feel obliged to tell him more than he had to.

"Technology?"

"The ships we've been forced to construct are on match with their fleet regulars. The ship I'm in can nearly match an ISD. The ones we've started producing alongside these troop-transports are much stronger, and nearly as capable as a Nebula."

The Madalorian was surely blanched by now. In his eyes, he saw a Republic cruiser so old and decrepit, it should've been falling apart before his eyes and raining on the moon below. If the chiss wasn't bluffing, then even his resistance would be futile. "Proof?"

"Fire your lasers at us if you want. Your technology is surely better than the Old Republican technology you think you see."

He looked to his side and nodded to an unseen gunner, and moments later, Mandalorian warships surrounded the Acclamantor and fired a single volley each. Normally, this would've broken the shields, slammed into the hull, and likely splinterred the ship. Instead, the shields held strongly and absorbed the lasers almost like it was nothing. "Impressed?"

In the depths of hyperspace, a passenger transport bore Link to Tatooine.
bandaged and sore depsite the bacta and medicne he had taken, the young Jedi had used his rapidly dwindiling money to secure a comfortable cabin for once.

Credits had their uses.

Link lie on the cot in his cabin, staring at the grey bulkhead above him.
"Honored, perhaps this one should be feeling, for having gotten handed a beating by Mandalore himself." He winced painfully. "So why does this one not feel honored? Perhaps he should have gotten an autograph."
He sat up slowly and sat on the edge of the bed.

"More training is needed. So difficult, that battle should have not been. Stronger I must become. Perhaps a thing or two, this one could learn from those of the B'omarr order. Something that involves not having the brain removed..."

"It is ready for deployment. Have you the sullustian we needed?" HM asked the admiral.

"I'm not sure why you wanted a second test subject so late. Nor do I see why you wish to deploy this latent virus upon their populace. But we have him. He was sent to the base this morning. It should prove to be useful." Veers replied, breathing deep and standing more erect in the presence of the droid.

Hyperspace to the system would have made little sense. A small shuttle containing the dark lord had already left, prepared to land in a much more remote location than needed. There, the virus would be taken into the tunnels, and Ferno would find appropriate hosts for a true epidemic to take place. How he would manage to administer this weapon was unknown to Veers, and he almost did not want to know. His master had ordered everyone to stay out of system, but close enough to allow for a speedy pickup.

"May I inquire into the workings of the weapon, Master HM?" Veers asked, curious as to why this seemingly minor attempt to disrupt another major corporation.

"Basically, this virus is latent, giving us enough time to leave for several days before the first symptoms arrive. It also breeds by allowing the host to breed the virus themselves. Each sullustian produces inside its body for a full week a full army, so when it explodes, it cannot be stopped. When the epidemic reaches full strength, the gratuitious Sith shall come in with a cure. But half the planet shall be dead by that time. We will not have to worry about sorosuub being a major contender for our opposition."

Veers pondered the prospect for a moment, but not being too intelligent on biochemical warfare, much less anything involving medicine, he seemed to not get much of the proposed theory. "So you invented a cold? a really bad one?"

"Basically, yes. One which feeds off heat. The hotter they get, the more active it becomes."

Veers knew at least enough about Sullust (he had little else to do for the past ten days) to remember its geography. "Ah, geothermal heat on a volcanic planet would provide a cesspool of breeding. Right?"

HM turned his attention to the Admiral. "At least you're on the right track. But you're wrong. Contact me when you figure it out. I'll be shutting down right now."

The Pride of Mantell dropped out of hyperspace at the edge of the Bestine System, and into the lengthy line of ships at one of the Customs Stations waiting for entrance deeper into the star system. Above the massive hulk of the newest incarnation of the Golan stations a pair of Imperial Star Frigates hung watching over the lines of Civilian traffic.

One was a Gladius-class, an interdictor that watched as Predator fighters swooped around the civilian vessels pulling sensor readings from the ships. Beside it was a Wombat II, a four hundred meter long vessel bristiling with offensive weaponry, a challenging opponent for even a heavy frigate.

Revak watched the two ships and frowned, "Are you sure they won't pick up our fighter craft?"

"Yes," Jenel hissed, a sound that was even stranger to Revak's ears coming from a human, "I've told you a dozen times Revak, to most sensors your ships look like solid hunks of metal, not a complex machine or starfighter!"

"Alright," Revak replied with a sigh as he turned from the bridge, "I'll go see how Calra is fairing."

He walked down the cold hallway to the aft compartment twitching nervously. He hoped Jenel Olo was right. He didn't want to fend off that sort of boarding party, especially with Calra in her current state.

Calra glanced up as he slipped into the room and sighed, before picking up a piece of jetfruit and tossing it in her mouth.

Revak smiled slightly, "How are you feeling?"

"Better..." Calra answered as she picked up another piece of jetfruit and popped it in her mouth.

"You know, you shouldn't be eating that," Revak answered, "You have no way to burn off the energy it gives you..."

"Let me deal with my pain my way," Calra hissed back, but softened it with a smile, "As long as I'm hyped up on these I don't feel the pain."

"Thats something, I suppose," Revak replied with a sigh.

"Well..I suppose Palpatine was a bad man...but surely he treated the citizens of his Empire better than this," Ashe said. "Then again, perhaps he only treated the humans of his Empire better," she spat out.

"There's, like, totally no 'suppose' about that," Freya said icily, her eyes narrowing to slits in annoyance. "My ancestors, whose family perished on Alderaan, would roll in their graves at the mere thought of someone mentioning anything about Palpatine being a good man," And, may Palpatine totally freeze and burn in Corellia's Nine Hells for all time,
"However," Freya continued, "My large hairy friends here will totally agree on your second point,"

"What's that, Ebony?" Vera asked, glancing at the display in the cockpit as the little droid brought the Omega-class shuttle through Nar Shadaa's pungent atmosphere.

"The ship needs a name, Vera, in order to be registered," the readout said.

Vera nodded and lowered her head in thought. She then smiled. "Please name it Star of Kalustha, Ebony." The droid twittered and renamed the craft, Star of Kalustha. "Thank you, Ebony." The droid tootled and set back to the task of finding a landing pad for the ship to settle down on.

Soon the shuttle had set down, and Vera, dressed in an unassuming tunic and short skirt rather than the flashy Imperial Knight armor, lead Ebony down the boarding ramp and onto the thoroughways of Nar Shadaa. She was overwhelmed by the city-moon, noxious gases rising from deep chasms between high-rise buildings that were caked with dirt and looked severely worn, though some seemed of recent construction.

Vera had little idea of what to do, and so trusted Ebony, who was busy downloading maps from nearby computers and retrieving electronic credits from long-forgotten accounts. They took an air taxi until they came to a cantina that looked slightly more civilized than the others they had passed. After paying the taxi driver, Ebony rolled out, with Vera in tow.

After introducing her family to their wookie protctors, Aurora made her way to the hanger where Freya and Gorry were. Sapphire rolled after her after beeping his goodbyes to his older owners.

Aurora exited the repolsurlift and walked over to the group. "Freya, are we all set to go?"

Looking Ashe up and down, Gorwooken said with a frown He gave the woman a closer look, he thought he recognized her from somewhere... Either way, he didn't trust her.

(( elvis: I think Ashe is a chick. ))

"Yes," Freya answered Aurora. "Shall we be off, then?"

(( oops: sweatdrop how inadvertantly sexist of me.))
Gorwooken said, looking around them. It would be unwise to leave her here alone, he knew, in the end, he knew that he'd probably need to ask Freya to invite her along, or... well make sure she wouldn't be telling anyone anything.

((For your ease, all posts from my second character will be in blue… By the end of the RP you might start calling him the blue eyed devil.))

The Imperial shuttle whined as it dropped out of hyperspace over Garos IV. It’s bulky shape was closely escorted by two imperial predator fighters. Ahead lay a fleet, one worthy of an Admiral’s command, six Wombat II-class Star Frigates, three Stalwarth-class Star Destroyers, and at the center of the formation was the mighty command ship: the Revenge II-class Star Cruiser Hektor’s Shield.

Crouched behind the two pilots Rear Admiral Borill Elsyn watched through the primary viewport as the pilots worked, maneuvering the ship round the escorting frigates and toward the command ship. The pilot keyed his comm, “This is ISS-3128 requesting landing clearance for the Hektor’s Shield.”

Instantly a cool calm imperial voice answered back, “ISS-3128, you’re cleared for hanger A.”

Glancing at each other the pilots began maneuvering the vessel toward the central open bay, careful to avoid the hull which rose to either side of them. They slid though the hanger doors and into the primary bay and settled onto the glinting black hull plating.

With a hiss the boarding ramp descended to the landing floor and Borill glanced backed to the aft compartment where the troopers that were being transferred from Ord Mantell waited. With a sigh he glanced at Commander Corak, the Intelligence Agent assigned to him for this mission, “Shall we Commander?”

“After you Admiral,” The Commander answered with a smile. Admiral Borill Elsyn grinned before stepping onto the ramp.

Outside a strong and cultured female voice bellowed out, “Attention!”

Borill walked down the ramp and into an awe inspiring display of imperial might. A full division of over ten thousand storm troopers stood at attention with officers lined up parade ground fashion. Before him stood a small collection of imperial officers, at the center was a commodore, a chiss.

She saluted smartly as he stepped off the ramp, “Admiral.”

He nodded back at them, “Commodore Speck’ul’lenet.”

“Yes sir, you can just call me Kull.” The Chiss nodded slightly before glancing to the other officers, “I believe some introductions are in order.”

“Yes, but I’m afraid that’ll have to wait…” Borill glanced at Commander Corak. “History is on the move Commodore, and those that can’t keep up will be left in the dust.”
