I play baritone and valve trombone, anyone ever heard of that, its so sweet its shaped like a trombone but it has valves. I love it, I play it in jazz band

Its really amusing in concert band and in marching band when we were in class practicing its separated by the sexes. I'm first chair and there are three other girls after me and then four boys. biggrin I love trying to see how much stuff one can throw into the bell of a tuba at football games.

I played Trombone in Junior High...My last high school didn't have a band (imagine how much that sucked!) and now I'm afraid I don't remember how to play it! All I know is that C is 6th position (if I'm wrong about that, I'm hopeless -_-;;; )

I also played trumpet, but I low brass is much cooler. ^^
I am LEADER OF THE NERD HERD, which is actually quite funny, because there are only two actual nerds in my band, and they are cool ppl, lol.
Anyways, in all seriousness, I think playing an instrument is more of a public service. When you play well it can be a musical experience, and that makes it enjoyable for the audience. Though, being in band is awesome fun. ^^

I don't look for sheet music online, unless I want to play a serious peice. If I wanna play something like family guy, then I find the notes, and make my own sheet music. It takes time, but it is free and it is fun to do....I sounded like a total geekwad just then....and then I said geekwad....oh well, geeks are cool.^^

I have been in band since 6th grade, and I am in 8th going into 9th, but me and my freinds are pretty advanced for our level. Our teacher is awesome. We play 10th and 11th grade music sometimes, as sightreading. I wasn't bragging by the way. I was just stating that lower grades are just as good as anyone else, not nessacarily talentwise, but all the same.
