"Ow!" he exclaimed. "Well, I certainly won't miss this goatee," he muttered under his breath, giving the other an injured look. "Anyway, we need to get leaving. The more time it takes us, the more time you have to spend as a woman."

"Aw, you mean my entertainment is over?" Zavier asked, feigning a look of distaste before replacing it with a grin. He came to his feet to stand in front of Dax, towering almost a full foot over him, and wrapped both his arms around him. "I'll miss you, kid," he whispered in his ear before kissing him on the top of his head. "Be careful.. and write me if you ever can. Tell me what all out there. Promise?"

At first Dax tried to shrink away from the taller man, but couldn't bring himself to pull away fully. Instead, he just nodded against the other's chest. "I promise," he said sincerely, finally returning the hug. "I'll miss you too, Zav." He then pulled away, smiling softly at the man. "Guess it's goodbye then."

"Not unless I have some reason to find you.. then yeah," he said. "Later. You too.. 'Lucian'." He gave Sayael an almost knowing look before returning to his seat.

After the two had finished with their good-bye, Sayael grabbed Dax's free wrist with his un-sticky hand and pulled him along out into the light. He squinted up at the sun, shading his eyes with the other hand. "I'd say it's about noon... probably a bit after... We're making pretty good time, but we have quite a ways to go. Come on!"

"I'm coming!" Dax said, trying to take a last glance back but his vision was already obscured by the other people within the bar. Sayael was right, though. They should be leaving. He rewrapped his unfinished pastry and placed it into his own saddlebags before freeing Jacqueline's reigns from the post. "Should we do anything about the horse's appearances when we get into the woods once more?"

"Yes. I forgot to before but I had already been planning to once we left the city." He gave the other a smile - very different from his usual smirk or childish grin - glad the other had figured that out for himself. He walked to Isfahel and vaulted himself lightly onto the horse's back with a grace and ease that only came with practice.

"You know, one of these days you're going to miss and break your neck from doing that," Dax said, climbing into his own saddle. He resisted the urge to automatically swing his leg over to the other side, instead settling for side-saddling it. "And don't expect me to come and baby you the entire time, either. I might play your wife, but I definitely will not be your mother."

"Don't be ridiculous. I've been practicing since I was seven and have fallen enough times to last a life time. It's not a skill you lose, unless you start riding with stirrups." it was normal to mount horses this way in his kingdom because there were no styrups to help oneself up - you just had to jump. He squeezed his knees in slightly, a signal for Isfahel to start up, and they were off. They were on the outskirts of the city and could now ride easily enough.

"You've been practicing to jump on a horse since you were seven? .. How useful," he muttered sarcastically. At seven, if he even tried to jump on one of the Ice Kingdom's horses, he'd smack right into its flank. "Hey, here's an idea.. How about when we change our horses disguises, your Isfahel could be a mule?" He laughed quietly to himself at the thought of such a beautiful horse being turned into a degrading animal.

Sayael glared at Dax. "Isfahel, bite her," he said, pointing at Dax. The horse looked up at Sayael, looking a little perplexed before snorting at him and returning his attention to the road. He had too much sense to try and n** at someone riding a horse that would be only too willing to bite him back if there was no neccessity for violence.

Dax had been prepared to manuever away from the other horse, but merely laughed again when he did nothing. "I guess even your horse doesn't listen to you it seems," he stated, smiling brightly back at the other's glaring face. "It was only a joke anyway. Don't get your panties in a twist."

He crossed his arms over his chest, looking grumpy - showing just how balanced he must be because now he had nothing holding him on top of Isfahel but his legs. "He does, he just thinks you're too bitter to taste any good."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 02, 2006 7:51 pm

"Bitter-sweet, lovey," Dax said with a wink and lips pursed in a kissing manner. He always seemed to be fine with the flirting and teasing as long as it didn't involve physical contact. That was what flustered him so much. "It'd be too much for any horse and yourself to handle."

"Really? Give me your hand and I'll try," he said, grinning slightly. For someone who was flustered by the slightest of physical contact, it was funny how he flirted verbally. Sayael was more physical than verbal as far as that went. He might just have to cure Dax of his insecurities before the trip was over.

(~Niiight)

Dax stuck his nose in the air once more, keeping his hands securely on the reigns. "No thank you. I think I've had my share of being touched today as it is," he said haughtily before turning a sly look toward the other boy. "Besides.. You haven't earned the right to take a taste of me yet."

"Oh, Ellian, such high-handed egotism - just remember that I have your masculinity in my hands," he said with a sly grin. The other talked too big for someone who shied away from simple affections.
