Lin nodded, "I put it back into the bag when we left the clinic. Just give me a moment and I'll get it."

Since she didn't take her bag with her, they didn't have the currency for this area, so she didn't see the need to take the bag. So Lin had to make a quick trip back to the room to grab the sling for the couple.

While Lin went back for the sling, the others stacked their dishes and waited for her by the door. Uruloki made himself comfortable in Lancaeriel's arms, a method of transportation for him that actually allowed him to rest, when he wasn't giving directions or translating.

"Perhaps later we should head out of the city for a bit and let the Pokemon run around," Earendil suggested as they waited. "I'm sure that after two days of flying and then all of us going straight to bed yesterday, they're ready for some exercise."

"That's a good idea, maybe by then Andarien will want to come too. He's probably still sorting through all his gears," Miyuki murmured thoughtfully.

It had been a long while (to her) since she interacted with Ai and Yasu. It would also be nice just to see how Yasu was coming along. As she was thinking more about this, her mother came back with sling in hand.

"Here it is," Lin smiled as she handed it to Iorlas.

"I'm sure Andarien would be happy to come," Earendil agreed. "Hopefully he'll be finished sorting his gears again, or at least ready for a break."

"Thank you." Iorlas smiled at Lin and accepted the sling from her. She put it around her and held her hands out to take Amir from Daeron. Once the boy was safely in the sling, his head resting against Iorlas' chest, Iorlas turned back to the others.

"Ready," she told them.

Lancaeriel opened the door and led the way outside. It had warmed up since earlier that morning, and the streets were just as full as they had been, with dozens if not hundreds of red-haired elves milling around, going about their business.

"You remember the directions to the tailor?" Daeron asked Iorlas as they started out.

Before Iorlas could respond, Uruloki spoke up. "I can guide you around the city. The tailor isn't far, just past the market."

"Perfect," Miyuki grinned.

That was much easier than following someone else's directions on a piece of paper.

"Lead the way!" she added with a giggle, "Or rather, we'll be following Lancaeriel."

Since she was carrying Uruloki.

"You could walk with me rather than behind me," Lancaeriel pointed out bemusedly as she began to lead the way forward.

Despite how busy the marketplace still was, they had no trouble passing through the crowds. The people simply moved out of their way without needing to be asked. As such, it didn't take them long to arrive at the tailor's, a red-stone building with a thick canopy over the door and front window. The canopy was a vibrant green, and had an enormous needle and thread stitched into it with golden thread.

It wasn't at all hard to spot, not with that canopy hanging over head.

"that's kind of pretty," Miyuki murmured thoughtfully.

And it was unique compared to using a wooden sign.

Lancaeriel smiled at Miyuki's observation. "It is an eye-catching way of showing off the tailor's work," she agreed. "And hopefully an indication of what we might find inside."

She laughed softly, her eyes sparkling. "Even if it is just for Amir."

"Who says children can't be well dressed?" Uruloki quipped. "Some people believe that children should be better dressed."

Lin chuckled and nodded, "True... well dressed in a way that works for children."

A child could easily be well dressed and still have it practical, it just took a bit of figuring out as Lin had learned over the years. It reminded her of when Miyuki was little and how pants would never work no matter how cold it was outside.

She opened the door for everyone else, since some of their group had their hands full.

"Thank you," Lancaeriel smiled at Lin as she passed by her and into the shop. Shiro and Kaito followed her, then Iorlas and Daeron and Wren, and then Earendil put one hand against the door to hold it open for Lin so that she could enter ahead of him.

"After you," he smiled warmly at her.

Inside, the shop was well lit by sunlight streaming in through windows along the walls as well as a large window in the roof. One wall was shelf upon shelf of bolts of fabric of various types of colours. A second wall had patterns, measuring ribbons, scissors of various sizes and designs, boxes of pins, needles, spools of thread, stacks of paper, jars of ink, and a mug of quills. In the front window, mannequins carved out of wood showed some of the styles of clothes the tailor specialized in: some robes, some tunics, some pants, some dresses, and others.

A large table in the center of the room had measuring lines carved directly into it, and there were scraps of materials and other tools of the trade scattered over it. There was a counter along the back wall, and aside from a doorway it took up the entire wall. When the group entered the shop, a red-haired woman stepped out from the back.

Miyuki made a beeline for the mannequins, just because she wanted to see what sort of styles this place had that was different from other places she had been. Though anyone who knew Miyuki knew she would eventually look at the fabrics as well.

"This is lovely," Lin murmured as she glanced around.

While not as clothes interested as her daughter, Lin could certainly appreciate the design and layout of the shop.

The red-headed woman greeted the group cautiously, and immediately Iorlas and Daeron headed over to speak with her to arrange for some clothes for Amir.

Despite the fact that Stirring was just ending and the weather was still relatively cool, the clothing on display was neither thick nor fully covering. While even Earendil wouldn't consider the clothing revealing, it wasn't designed to keep people warm. Most of the clothing was made of finer materials - satin and silk - though the bolts on the shelves also included simple wools, cottons and soft-leathers.

Miyuki had also noticed this, it made her see what the only fire elf in the shop was wearing. Since she did somewhat recall a comment about little Amir never feeling cold or being burned.

Though by observing the woman she also began to notice how cautious the woman was (something they had been warned about). While weird, it was better than being disliked or hated.

The red-haired woman was wearing a loosely fitting, short-sleeved top, a deep bottle green, with pale, dull golden filigree stitched into the collar and hem; and her skirt had a few layers of the same bottle green satin, each layer progressively longer until it reached her knees, hemmed with the same dull gold thread; and over it all there was a sheer layer of hand-sewn lace.

Lancaeriel followed Miyuki's gaze and smiled to herself. She sidled up to her friend and student and murmured softly to her, "What are you thinking?"

"Clothes, food, and really nearly anything that is made says something about the people who live in a certain place," Miyuki explained, "The clothes here are too light for the end of Stirring, but if I remember, fire elves might not feel as cold as other races. So the clothes here show that."

Granted, she bet that skirt was kind of warm since it was tiered, she had seen that style but often it was sewn to create that illusion, but the way the woman moved it probably was actual layers.

"And yes, people here are very cautious, but caution can go away with enough time," Miyuki added absently.

It made her think though...
