Pasiphae's touch was welcome, even if it was impractical. Sailor Nyx smiled sincerely. Something solid, warm, and friendly was always welcome in the face of destruction.

"Prince--?" She cut herself off with a start as the golden barrier once again erected itself around them and the castle. The monster bared its fangs hideously on the other side, waiting like a bad dream on the other side of consciousness. "This is a sick game," she commented instead, sighing at another undoubtedly false lull in the fighting. It was wearing on her.

"What is this about a... 'princess'?"

He knew he couldn't really protect her but he kept an eye on Thisbe as they moved and as the barrier rose up behind them sighed in relief for the moment.

"Corvus should be around somewhere ..." He straightened up, rubbing his arm, and looked around for someone he recognized. 'She' can take care of herself though. We've got to find Princess Chronos or Castor. Someone who can actually do something."

He took the other senshi by the arm and started moving through the crowd and the rubble looking for anyone he knew. "If we stay out here we're dead. We can't fight that thing like we've been doing it. We'll just die." He shook his head. "We have to show a united front and try to combine attacks. That is how the Negaverse beats us. The organize and we're just .. we're doing it wrong."

Virgo was--okay, not happily, but at least contently, slamming punches and kicks into any Negaverse agent who so much as looked at her funny. Her fists of fury were absolutely functional, and she wanted nothing more than these monsters gone.

Until she spotted Hematite rushing her again. "Didn't get enough the first time," she yelled, scraping a palm across her face. His blood had dried on her skin, and now she held up a palm so she could see. "Come back to die, Hematite?"

He'd had so little of his own energy that everything he did, unknowingly energized by the great youma, was also heavily tainted with its negativity. The petty anger and grudges he'd held against the undying Zodiacs were magnified a hundredfold, and he hardly noticed the difference. Anger. It was what drove him now, what kept him moving even when every inch of him was being soaked in blood. He had one goal and only one goal that kept him on his feet even as blood darkened the makeshift tourniquets Navi had tied around his wounds.

"I've come back to carve the starseed out of your ******** chest." Somehow he'd recalled his weapon to him, and it was gripped tightly in his bloody hands. He spat on the ground and left a bright stain of blood on the colorless landscape. If there were others around, chaos or cosmos alike, he couldn't even see them. To him, in this state, it was just him and Virgo. "But only after I make you watch your Princess Chronos bleed to death first. Slowly."

He took a step forward--

"No!" he roared, leaping forward as the golden light sealed itself around the senshi and knights. The sword lanced through the golden shield - several feet of wicked metal trying to align themselves with Virgo's heart. The point came mere inches from the Zodiac's undefended chest, wrapped in the ethereal gold of the bubble that stretched like plastic to prevent the deadly breach. He pulled the sword away with nearly as much force as he'd expended to stab it through. He smashed it against the shield over and over again with the flat side, and at this angle the golden glow rang like glass. Drops of blood splattered across it and hung in the air. "You ******** miserable ******** cowards!"

They were back inside Chronos Castle. Celsus made a noise that sounded something like an angry cat growling - this battle was never going to end, was it? They would be killed by that beast outside, broken down by the creature that had already started to destroy their sense of well being.

No, thought Celsus. No. I'm not going to think like that.

It's not over yet.

They did not have a lot of time - it was clear that the barrier would not hold for long, especially after the last time. Celsus' eyes went towards the golden, glowing wall, his heart aching. Who was in there? Menthe and Eliza had been fortunate enough to have both awoken as knights, but what of the rest of the people he had spoken to? Learned their names, gotten to know them? He closed his eyes for the briefest of seconds.

Thank you. Again.

First things first - find the Princess.

And where the Princess was, there was Virgo - Virgo, who was still alive after all.

He was going to have a few words for her for scaring the daylights out of them all. Or, at the very least, a few words that would never be said out loud to his temporary Captain, but maybe mumbled in his head.

Celsus wasted no time in pushing his way through the throngs of people gathered within the expansive entrance hall, looking for a glimpse of pale green hair, of a slender blonde with a veil over her head.

And at last - he found them - or one of them, at least.

"Princess!" Celsus called, relief coursing through him as he slowed to a stop in front of her. "Are you all right?"

Europa wove through the crowd of confused senshi, Babylon close behind her. Both looked bloodied but not beaten, wearing wounds earned at some distant part of the battle. "Pasiphae!" she called, pulling the squire along behind her. "I agree, we ought to regroup."

Europa cast a worried look towards the barrier. Sure, it was stable now, but who knew for how long? They'd be fools to not use this precious time to formulate a plan in order to drive this battle to the finish. "I still think we should focus on destroying the youma," she explained. "It would certainly level the playing field."

"But that leaves the officers and the DMC," objected Babylon. "We don't outnumber them, do we?"

He glanced towards the barrier in hopes of doing a quick count, but wasn't sure he could manage even the most basic math in this frazzled state.

His arm still felt like agony. This was more pain that Naica had been in his whole life, really, and he'd never been good with pain to begin with.

At least he'd stopped crying, beside the fresh tears that sprang whenever he moved his arm inadvertently.

Suddenly, through, he was in Chronos' outpost, yelping.

Another shield... ?

Maybe ?

"A-Anyone knows how to deal with a broken arm ? I-I think I..."

Yeah.

Unfun.

Sailor Leto paced back and forth along the barrier.

Patience, she heard from the Great One. ******** patience, she thought. She needed to get her hands on them now. Not later. While they were still weak. Before they had time to regroup, come up with a plan and strike back. Now was the time to destroy them.

She was like a hungry lion in a cage waiting for it's dinner. Back and forth she paced, her arms clasped behind her back. Her eyes set on Scylla and she punched the barrier in a tempermental fit. She quickly drew her hand back as her skin folded back and she felt a jolt up her arm. <********. Coward ********." She was cursing now, and returned to pacing along the length of the barrier.

She was an eternal senshi, goddammit. Not only that, but she was Sailor Nemesis, a name she held with all the pride of a sailor soldier. To be getting her a** kicked by a bunch of Negaversers was insulting to the core of her being. It was almost enough to dampen her rage, but the anger still coiled in the pit of her stomach, her hands still shook from the effort to control herself. Throwing herself blindly at her enemies usually worked out for her, because she had a natural instinct of how to fight, a natural rhythm. Any true training had never been given to her, and most of the time she didn't need it. She could figure out her enemies' weaknesses and abuse them shamelessly.

Nemesis needed more aid than her natural abilities to take on so many Negaversers. She'd never admit it, even if it was the truth. Nemesis had to be strong enough to stand on her own, because there were few who would truly stand beside her. It was her own doing, a natural ability to shove people away that she delighted in. She knew how to piss someone off, she knew how to make people hate her so they'd stop bothering her, or at least make bothering her more interesting. Allies? She didn't need goddamn allies.

She was Sailor ******** Nemesis.

The barrier had came up again, which was a thankful reprieve for the beaten senshi of Decay. She was hurt, more than she wanted to let on. Even so, she crouched over the ground, trying to steady her breathing. When that barrier fell, she would fight again. She'd fight until she had no breath left.

Pasiphae wanted desperately to take her friend's hand, but the bandages still wrapped around them indicated that she was still recovering from her burns. So, instead, she linked her arm through Nyx's determined not to be seperated again. She answered the other Senshi's question as best she could... given that she didn't really know that much about Princesses herself. "Princess Chronos is the leader of the Zodiacs... allies of ours, not Chaos members. The Surrounding, the place we're in? It's the Zodiac's home. And... princesses and princes are supposedly the most powerful of Senshi."

And that short explanation was really all she had to offer. "We can gather with the others to protect her... and that might be for the best. What do you think?"

Then she saw Europa and Babylon, and she felt even further relieved at their safety. Europa was telling her to regroup, and the Shame Senshi trusted the Eternal's lead... but she still looked to Nyx, "I'm going to go but... you don't have to, if you don't want to. I just think it's the best way to keep each other safe."

She was going to ******** up Osumilite's s**t, she decided, looking away from her place atop Hel.

Or she could suddenly be standing on the other side of the same barrier as before, all by herself. She threw Pollux a glance for just a moment, long enough to hear his comment. "Well don't piss me off and I won't do anything to your delicate parts," she told him, patting his head condescendingly before she knotted her hand in his hair and pulled him down for a kiss. (What? She was running on adrenaline. And she was a good kisser, might as well thank him for the compliment.)

Then her attention turned back to Osumilite. With no other weapon that could breach the barrier--she tried throwing her apple only to have it bounce back onto the ground--she flipped Osumilite and Hel the double-bird. "Thought you'd like to watch a catfight, you limp-dicked adulterous son of a two-dollar whore!"

Maybe that was a bit overcomplicated. "Sorry, I know you have trouble with multisyllables. So here's it simplified, go ******** a duck!"

The Professional Prophet
The Zodiac Captain was stepping forward to slam a fist into Hematite's face when she realized she was no longer standing in front of her sworn enemy. No, now she was in the central area of Chronos Castle, unable to see or hear Hematite.

"I don't know," she said to Castor. "It might have done this during the final attack, but my memories of that day are fragmented. I don't remember this ever happening, otherwise..." She stomped one foot, blood dripping from the metal at the hem of her skirt, running down to leak through the soles of her shoes. "If only there was some way to combine all our power... we need to restore this place. It should stop them from claiming it for themselves."

She took the veil off her head, offered it up. "This is what I have," she said to Themis. "There's something I have to handle... be right back."

The thing she had to handle turned out to be Hematite. She stood there, statuesque and drenched in blood. She didn't flinch away from the sword's point, and she laughed in his face when he pulled it back, walked right up to the barrier and smiled a rictus grin. More for show than anything. "You'll never touch the Princess," she said. "Not until every one of us is dead and gone. And we never will be, because haven't you heard?"

She gestured around her, to Leo, to herself, to every Page, the Princess and Castor and Themis, every senshi and knight in the room. Her tone climbed up the decibel levels, and she shouted, "Senshi don't die!" Then her smile smoothed out, gentle then. "But you will. You all will. And when you do, everything -- will -- be -- normal -- again." Nevermind it was hopeless now. She couldn't think of any way to make this less hopeless. She was the Captain and she could not be seen to lose hope, so she held tightly to her bravado, the words and manner of the old Captain--not Hero, but the one before, who held tight to hope no matter what. They would find a way. Things would get better, and they'd go back to normal. Virgo would cease to mean anything... and then Elke could live her normal life.

That was all Virgo wanted.
Miliardo Kason
Gunn had to find Hephaistos, she decided, vaulting over some rubble in Chronos Outpost's main room. Where the hell had the little Scout gone? When she found him, she crouched near him; "Are you alright? I'm sorry... For what I did."

"NO!" Navi screamed it as another golden barrier rose around the castle the white clad army had ducked within to hide. Not again, not when they had been advancing upon them with victory in their sights. It wasn't fair, so much about what was going on wasn't fair. Something would go right, and then suddenly and unexpectedly something else would go wrong. It was really ******** frustrating.

She was seething as she stalked jerkily forward, pale hair wild around her face and, skin stained with blood, none of it her own. She looked primal and raw, and not at all like the fragile girl she had been before the mirror had shattered against her.

She'd been delayed in returning to the battle, missing all the fun, and now another barrier stood between them, merely stalling the inevitable. Yes, they had almost lost not so long ago, but the great one was back, stronger then before, and she was more sure then ever.

With dainty fists curled at her sides she came to a stop near Sailor Leto, watching her pace along the glittering barrier. "Soon," she offered helpfully, a cold smile curling along delicate, freckled features.

"Bellatrix thus far had fared as well as she could. most of the damage was emotional, though a portion of he hair bared a darker tinge that told of some injury to her head, and her legs had gotten many cuts from the vines before she managed to get away from them. Her shoulder that had been previously injured in Elysion was acting up as well, due to the strain. Of course, her usual patrolling did that, but this was more strain than usual, and perhaps her most uncomfortable injury this entire battle thus far. Still, it would seem for someone who had gotten pretty much lost in the sea of battle, she'd faired better than her other half.

"..Themis!" She called, spotting him, and worrying. At least he was alive. That was all she could ask for anymore, really.

Zero Dream

On the other side of the barrier, Bismuthite took the time to again rest. He sat down and slumped, arms resting on his knees. One palm came to rest against his forehead, which then slicked back his hair, and streaked the silver with more blood from the gash to his temple.

He would have rather kept fighting, because now that he was getting the chance to rest, he could feel how tired he was really becoming. Muscles twitched, and limbs felt heavy. He wanted to get back in to battle. Needed to. Impatient and stubborn, he didn't want his body, tired and worn, to affect his mental decision to not effin quit.

Super Sailor Corvus was not okay, nor did she look like she was going to be doing much of any taking care of herself for a bit. All of the resolve that she had stashed away, all of the hard work she had put into gathering pieces of herself back together over the summer... They were all about to shatter again and she was going to lose herself.

There wasn't enough power to draw from. She had one attack at her base level left, if she was lucky. She could only throw so many more punches. The barrier was only going to last for so much longer... "So many lives." She murmured, closing her eyes tightly in an attempt to ward off tears.

How many lives were inside this Castle now? How many were going to be just as lost as the strong hearts of the civilians that were now protecting them when the barrier fell?

What were they going to do?

"Fight." She murmured to herself as she opened her eyes, fierce determination making a comeback. One way or another, that's what she was going to do, until the last if that's what it came to. She was Super Sailor Corvus and, once again, she wasn't going to let anyone's death be in vain.

Across the room...

"So what are we supposed to do? Click our heels and say 'there's no place like home'? Hold hands and proclaim our belief in fairies? Is there even a way for us to channel all we've got together?" She bombarded him with questions before pausing for a moment, seeming somewhat sheepish, and still wounded. "Sorry."

Pollux was surprised as Avalon kissed him. Well, a little more then that. It was- it was Tate under there for crying out loud. Just what the ******** Tate? What the ********? Standing like a stunned moron for a few seconds he looked over to see just who he was harassing. Raising an eye brow, he smirked as she crated a very impressive insult. "Now Avalon don't be so hard on him." He motioned towards the captain. "He probably is just sexually frustrated as all the good looking men are on this side. I mean honestly, can you see a man like him actually finding good company? Hardly. My bet is spends his nights alone."

"With a sock."
