At the repeated squeaking, Taryn turned to look down at Merel before responding. What an odd boil, to always have mice with him, to bring one to the prom. ...maybe they weren't so bad, though. This one looked kind of cute, munching candy in her pretty little bow.

"I... I'd like to dance, I think," she finally said, shyly turning up to Joachim again. "I don't think I'm very good." After all, she had never had a venue to dance before, at least not while there were others around. The mere thought of dancing with a boil was terrifying and exciting. Maybe he didn't want to dance, though. Maybe she was making a fool of herself.

It was lucky for Xiu that Marzena decided not to bluntly explain to her what exactly the ghouls and boils had been doing. It was also for the sake that her date seemed nearby that she thought that it was a good idea to be polite.

"Whatever floats your boat, I guess." She shrugged her shoulders. Granted, Marzena never liked boats because they always disrupted the peace of the water. That, and those in boats were probably all idiots.

"I... have been absent of late." The Selkie said grudgingly, not willing to divulge further information. Those who knew her, however little those numbers were, all thought she had been ill, and she preferred to keep them thinking that way. "I'm Marzena."

...The Skinwalker seemed too sulky to respond, and so Erebus' eyes drifted to the dance floor as a slow song started up.

And promptly froze.

There was Tomoko! But she was dancing. With a boil. And they looked close.

Erebus made a face like this, tail drooping. gonk

Why had he bothered to come without dragging Arthur and Thackery along again? He wondered with a sigh. Things weren't as fun without his brothers. Maybe if the three of them were here, they would be ripping up the dance floor.

As the slow music began to play and couples started forming on the dance floor Ash sat and watched with her hand in her palm. Idly she wondered where her date was. She'd enjoyed the last slow dance with him, maybe she could have fun during this next one.

Of course... he didn't seem to be anywhere in sight. With a sigh the banshee stood up. The booth would be alright on it's own. And if she didn't get back to it in time there was a song set to auto-play when this ended.

Aislin wandered away from the ScreeJay booth but, rather than going out towards the dance floor or other students, she wandered away from the crowd. Just a moment of silence might be nice... and she was a bit curious about what lay behind the stage. The ghostling wandered towards the quieter areas, glowing ethereally in the black lights.

Joachim looked at the snake who wrapped around the chair, he hoped that it wouldn't really be interested in eating Merel anytime soon. It seemed rather content just watching over Taryn at the moment so maybe it would do as it was told.

"Errr.... if you would like to dance then we should dance," he replied as he resisted the need of adding in the thought that she would need serve medical attention afterwards when he end up stepping all over her feet.

He shook his head at her, "I think you would do just fine dancing....... would you like to dance on the next song?" He hoped that it would only prolong his agony of ruining things as his face started to turn red at the thought of having to lead her on the dance floor. Yes this was going to end badly he was sure of it.

"Weird? Your face gets hot? Come here, let me check..." She frowned, raising her hand, placing the back of her hand on Mitsu's forehead... Before realizing that all warm blooded bodies feel the same to her. She blushed and shuffled her feet, hoping nobody would realize that, before tilting her head at the ghoul with a curious expression.

Wait, those symptoms...

"Question - do you feel them only around certain people?" She asked, raising an eye brow before glancing at Mot. She trusted the boil enough to not make a comment about this, so she decided not to say anything to him; after all, she didn't want to jump to conclusions regarding Mitsu's "case".

Mitsu stood still as Lizzy raised her hand, placing the back of it to her forehead. It shifted her mask a little and Mitsu did her best to keep from grabbing at it in a panic a nervous glance being cast at Mot. She trusted Lizzy, the spider demon had already seen her face, but she didn't really know Mot. He seemed nice but...so did a lot of the other people who had made fun of her in the past.

"W..well," Mitsu tried to think, putting together all the times she had felt weird. It had only been recently that this had happened. "I...I guess so." Now that she thought of it...it was only around one person for sure, but..."W..what does that mean?"

"Okay!" Taryn chirped, and then caught herself. She was a lady tonight; she had to act like one. Still, though, she smiled broadly at the thought of getting up to dance with Joachim. He was a good date for her, he decided, not like those boys all over their girls on the dance floor. Maybe they'd get a slow song? Her date certainly seemed the type to know how to slow-dance, and that made her nervous. She had no idea, herself. Then again, if it was upbeat and silly she could end up having the time of her life or falling flat on her face and feeling like a fool. ...was there really any win-win situation here?!

Now that she was worrying about what the screejay was going to play, Abigail rose up again from the little slit at the back of Taryn's dress and watched Joachim with critical eyes. She could only rise so far, but there she was, pondering him... or at least looking vaguely concerned.

Cady milled in the crowd of students, finally spotting one of her dates on the floor talking to Riley. She moved towards them, suddenly hesitant. Er, hadn't she successfully managed to avoid the whole date issue by hiding behind the DJ booth? Why stop now? She tried to remember about the duty she had to be a Polite Young Lady, and a Good Host, or something.

Riiight. She turned around to go back, and ran straight into a fleeing figure. A figure that looked remarkably familiar only... he was wearing a suit. And a hat.

And his mouth was undone.

"Chr...Christof?" She asked uncertainly, leaning down to get a better look at his face.

As smooth as silk, Riley turned to move from Jericho's arms, to Malodore's. She slid her arms back around the plague flayer's pretty robes, wrapping her tentacles around it's body like a cocoon. You may have as many dances as you wish, my love. She nodded firmly, leading it off towards the middle of the dance floor. I will show you all that I have learned in the one song I just managed to complete with Jericho. He has taught me how to lead. That is the extent of my new knowledge.

She leaned in and pressed her face to it's beak, before leading it into a sway. Malodore, being lighter, was easier to manage - and Riley almost overcompensated, twirling a half-circle before settling into a more appropriate sway.

Look, I'm dancing. Aren't you proud? She beamed.

Realizing that Mitsu was looking at Mot, she smiled, nodding at her, "Don't worry about him... I would trust Mot with my life if I have to." Her expression softened a tad as she smiled; she would! Then again, to her, it only seemed right to trust your friend with your life, especially since mandatory school field trips seemed to be so dangerous.

"You guess so?" She echoed before tugging the ghoul closer as she tucked her hair behind her ear (yes, Lizzy has ears), tilting her head towards her friend, "Want to tell me around who?" She had an idea though, "You can whisper it in my ear if you're not comfortable with sharing it... I think I know what it means, but... Just to confirm it."

"Indeed so," Malodore said, amused. It followed her lead, gratefully, trying to follow her movements with appropriate ones of its own. "Is now when I admit to you my secret, hidden shame? I never have learned to dance properly. Only the elders have earned their right to 'fun', and they dance mainly aerially. Sky-waltzes do not translate well, alas."

It tried to twirl her, though, a bit awkwardly.

As if the sorrel-haired girl seemed to pick up on her date's dissatisfaction, she tilted her head slightly to look up at him, lifting her eyes and quirking one thin, defined eyebrow before allowing him to slide a hand around her waist, pulling her close for the dance and lifting her hand for him to take. Still, if she had any inkling that this song was not to his tastes, she didn't show it -- instead, Eris merely allowed him to pull her in sweeping motions around the dance floor, easily side-stepping the other couples as they turned slowly. It was clear they had both had some practice in the waltz, their footwork well placed and never fumbled, and she had to wonder whether it was merely a demon thing, or whether he enjoyed the activity. For she herself, it was the latter, although she hadn't had much practice. Being stuck on an island would do that to you, and as much as she adored her 'sisters' and 'little brother,' she had had no interest to dance with them to pass the time. In fact, they had all been rather busy annoying the ever-living daylight out of the hunters to have done much else.

"What flattery. Someone taught you well," she replied easily, her tone not at all the mocking scold or embarrassed twitter that another ghoul might have responded with, her tone light and unbothered. She was enjoying herself, it had been a long time since she had been able to relax and have fun.

Which reminded her, she'd have to try to find Vicky later... she had heard he had found himself a date~

For a few moments, she let herself be carried by the well-adept demon, humming a little to herself as they danced and giving a little twirl as he lifted his arm, her dress flowering a little at the bottom. In fact, it was only until the third or forth time he looked around that she refocused completely on Altair, still smiling a little, although her eyes glinted with interest. "Looking for someone?" She prompted, curiosity lacing her voice. It hadn't edged into annoyance, yet, but the madness had made her temper even shorter -- it wouldn't have surprised the other heirs if jumped quickly to anger.

Behind the stage, Nuk had taken sanctuary from the constant music and the happy chattering, content for the moment to just sit in the dark with his head in the hands. He had commandeered a random fold-out chair one of the gnomes had left, possibly to use as a step-stool to put something up, placing it in a corner near the ropes and pulleys that worked the curtain, elbows resting on his knees. He knew he should have been out there -- he was hosting this damn prom, he should be working the floor, making sure the food is stocked, running games and snapping pictures and...

... and making sure everyone but he was happy. There was an almost poetic sound to that, that he should create the time of everyone else's life but his own, but the skinwalker was in no mood to laugh at the irony of the statement. Instead, he just growled at the thought, tightening his fingers a little as if tempted to lash out, although in the end he refrained. What good would it do, anyway? He would go to the fitness room later, ask Christof for the key and beat the s**t outta one of the punching bags. At least that would tone his muscles and skills.

Sitting up finally, Nukpana gave a long, heavy sigh he knew no one else would hear, straightening up a little in the chair and rubbing his thumb over one palm, as if working out some kinks. It was only then that he noticed the faint glow of another student meandering behind the curtain, his own glowing amber eyes narrowing slightly. Other students shouldn't have been back there. He was, sure, but he was also caring for this establishment. Standing up, he started to approach, fully expecting it to be two twittering students looking for a kiss in the dark, when he suddenly came face to face with Ash, his expression turning from one of mild annoyance to surprise.

"Angel?" He prompted, his low, rough voice echoing his surprise, "What's up, is something wrong?"

"Well.." Colette thought about what Tsetsiliya just said and looked back at the dance floor. The ghoul's admittance of her own dancing skills did make her feel better, and she was right. They were at prom to have fun, even if that included dancing. She certainly didn't want to disappoint her dates either. If they wanted to dance, then she supposed it must be done. "You're right," she replied.

Colette looked at Petro hopefully and nodded, giving her final answer on it all. "I'll try and dance too then." If he was a better dancer like Tset suggested, which was not hard for anyone when compared to Colette, then she was ready to learn. "Oh, but.. how do we dance with three people?" she asked. While she wasn't an experienced dancer and didn't know what was and wasn't possible, she at least had a sense that it couldn't be done. Though, she wouldn't be shocked if she were surprised with the information that it was possible.

The black jack tables had been lots of fun but now Charlie was in the mood for dancing. In typical Charlie fashion the demon wandered away from the tables and Amrita until he spotted Lizzy. Of course the demon was going to go have at least ONE dance with the ghoul who had brought him a whole cheese pizza and invited him to stay the summer with her. The demon made his way over to Lizzy and with out paying much attention grabbed a hand and dragged who ever was attached to the hand to the dance floor.

It was only when he reached the dance floor did he notice the white haired masked ghoul was indeed not Lizzy. Still, this did not discourage the demon. Charlie was not shy.

"HEYYY!!! YOUR NOT LIZZY." He grinned. The demon wasn't upset. "DANCE WITH ME!"

The blush across Mitsu's face deepened and actually started to creep down her neck as Lizzy asked who. Again a nervous glance went to Mot but ....Lizzy said she could trust him.

Taking a deep breath crimson eyes turned back to the spider demoness. She was just about to open her mouth, utter the name of the person on her mind, but something had suddenly grabbed her hand.

"Eh-" Was followed by a squeak of surprise as Mitsu was dragged away from Lizzy, a wide eyed expression on her face. It wasn't until they stopped that she realized they were on the dance floor...and she was with someone she didn't know. The panic started to well up, her hand shaking in the boil's grasp.

"N-N-no, n-n-not Lizzy," Mitsu stuttered feeling her heart suddenly racing. "D..dance?" She nearly squeaked. He wanted her to dance? "I-I'm not very good..." Oh no...what was she supposed to do?
