Miyuki knew if she got this pair then she would have completely won the game, but she didn't dare vocalize this in fearing she would have done something to lower her chances. She didn't know why she felt this way, but it seemed so unreal to her.

She picked one of the four titles, it was a dragon this time. She knew this because she had seen Kelirahc's dragon before while traveling with them. Personally she liked the Gaian dragon that her Uncle Ryu would turn into. With that thought in mind she chose another title with a bated breath at what the creature would be.

It was the other dragon.

River's eyes opened so widely that she looked slightly mad, and she danced around in another circle, so excited that she was having a lot of difficulty keeping herself contained.

"Miyuki!" she squealed. "You won!"

Dorian, for his part, was completely astonished, so much so that he was speechless. He had never seen anyone win this before - especially not on a first try! It was simply unheard of!

Miyuki allowed herself to squeal jumping up and down. She didn't think she would get it all but she did and that was really, really neat! Out of curiousity she peeked to see what the last tiles were and there before her were two phoenixes.

"Oh! They're phoenixes!" Miyuki smiled, pleased with herself.

It showed too, because her tails were wagging back and forth.

Dorian laughed, then turned and grabbed something from behind himself.

"Here you are, your prize," he chuckled at her, holding out a small, ornately carved box. "A full set of tiles of your own, with carvings of the same animals that were on the set that you played with. And as a bonus, these ones have even been painted for you! And the box, if you don't want to use it for the tiles themselves, you can use for anything you want!"

The box had been carved all around with runes that had all sorts of blessings and good luck symbols on them.

"Thank you!"

Miyuki's eyes lit up on the sight of the box, the box itself would have seemed like enough it was so pretty. Taking the box she studied it, her fingers feeling all the runes and symbols carved into it.

"It's so pretty...."

Dorian smiled widely at her. "It's yours now," he told her. "Congratulations! And I hope your luck is just as good at everything else that you participate in!" He laughed. "Have fun!"

River giggled and put one arm around Miyuki's shoulders. "That was amazing," she told her as if confidentially. "Are you that lucky at everything that you do?"

Miyuki blinked, she had no idea. She didn't view herself being unusually lucky by any stretch of the imagination. Granted she had no idea what sort of odds it took to normally get all of the tiles like that.

"I.... don't know," she admitted to River, "Is that not normal?"

"Not at all!" River exclaimed. "Usually people don't even get one match! But you got all eight! I mean, sure, once you get seven, the last one's a giveaway, but still! To get the first seven is almost unthinkable! Probably no one will get that again today!"

She looked at Miyuki curiously. "Do you have magic to help you with stuff like that?" she asked. "I know there are some people who do ..."

Miyuki looked up at the sky thoughtfully, she really had to think about that, because she learned from her mommy that kitsunes were magical people just like elves were, but she never said about her gifts and Miyuki had always assumed she knew what her gift was.

"I don't think so, I can turn into a fox! But.... I don't about know helping with tiles...."

"Then you must really be lucky," River decided. She grinned at her. "Do you want to try something else? I bet you'll win again!"

There were many other things to try, after all, and the day had just begun!

Miyuki thought about it, she wasn't so sure if she would win again, but she was willing to play a bit more since it had been unexpected that she managed to win on the first go.

"Alright, but you pick the game," she replied.

River looked around at the games. She didn't know Miyuki very well, so she didn't know what she was good at or not; still, she had confidence in her friend after seeing her win her first game so quickly and so easily.

"What about ring-board?" she asked, pointing to the game that was being run by one of the field-labourers. "It's for two players. We each get three rings, and we stand on one board, and we have to try throw the rings into the holes on the other board."

The points were marked, five point for the nearest hole, ten for the middle, and twenty for the furthest. It was one of the games River liked to play with her older sister, whenever she got the chance.

Here was a game that depended more on skill, and it looked like a lot of fun. She looked thoughtfully at the rings and then at the holes for the rings.

"Oh... okay," she nodded at this, "This looks like fun."

She wasn't sure how good she would be at it, but she could give it a try.

River ran up to the woman who was running the game.

"Jayme!" she called out to her brightly. "Miyuki and I would like to play this game! Can we?"

The woman, a Light Elf, laughed and nodded her head. "Of course!" she beamed, reaching for the rings that they would throw. They were all metal, three gray and three black. "Here you are!"

River took the rings and held them out to Miyuki. "What colour do you want to be?" she asked brightly.

Miyuki looked at the rings thoughtfully before picking the gray ones, "Those ones! Please."

She looked up at the older girl, eager to see how the game is played, she hoped that River would go first.
