That's when I noticed that same dark energy that I noticed this morning. The zombies that Takeshi commanded were now... more evil.
I snarled, "Persistant, aren't they?"

"What?" I asked. I looked around us. What was Akira talking about? I couldn't see anything. I looked around again trying to figure out exactly what he was going on about.

That's when the final dozen zombies showed up. They chanted, "Join us, Akira."
The darkness of the zombies were the same as the darkness I had sensed in the thief. I snarled, "No doubt about it. The handiwork of the Dark Zodiac."

I made a disgusted expression. "Gross." I mumbled. I didn't like the thought of the zombies. I liked them even less now that they were wanting Akira. There was no way I would let them even touch him let alone have him on their side.

That's when my inner light began to glow again. I said, "My fate was decided on the day that I was born. Sorry, I don't see world domination in my future. But averting it is."
Takeshi's spirit jaw dropped, and his eyes widened. He gasped, "I knew Akira changed after my death, but to change enough to gain THIS kind of power?"
He chuckled, "Looks like the future is in capable hands, all right."

I looked over at Akira. My reaction wasn't anything like Takeshi's. I simply stared at him. There was something strange about him. I couldn't place exactly what it was but it was absolutely there.

I stated, "The universe was NEVER perfect. It never asked to be perfect. And to make the universe better, you don't need to go to the extreme. And because you threaten not just the universe, but my friends with your actions, I will not allow you to go any further than this planet. In the name of my friends, I will stop you."
Takeshi could only smile. He said, "He reminds me of you when I first met you, Hotaru."

I stood there watching Akira for a moment then I looked over at Takeshi. "Me?" I asked. I couldn't see how that was possible. Akira and I weren't really all that alike.

Takeshi smiled, "The 'mysterious' power both of you seem to possess, seemingly endless courage, and the mother hen instinct to protect your closest friends when in danger. You two are different as night and day, yet you two are eerily similar."
Meanwhile, I got into my ready position, and I used my right hand to taunt the zombies. I confidently smiled, "Come. If you want me, I'm right here."
That's when the zombies charged at me...

I sighed and crossed my arms. "True as they might be he always appears to be so cocky." I stated bluntly. I had never been afraid to tell Takeshi what was on my mind before and I wasn't going to start now. I watched Akira and the zombies charging toward him for a moment.

Takeshi looked at Hotaru. He said, "Appearances can be decieving. In the time that I knew Akira, a face that looked like he was cocky means that he was actually confident."
Meanwhile...

I snarled, "The universe will become better. When the likes of the Dark Zodiac are removed from it!" One zombie attacked, but I managed to block the attack and kicked him hard enough so that he crashed into the other 11 zombies. I snarled, "Playtime is over."
As a spirit,Takeshi could see more than what the physical eye can see. It was then Takeshi saw an afterimage of Akira's true form. He chuckled, "Looks like Akira has more in common with you than you think, Hotaru. He even has a similar after school job... It's a little different than yours, but it's similar, nevertheless."

I looked at Takeshi then over to Akira. "After school job...?" I wondered aloud. I couldn't really think of what he meant by that. I wanted to help Akira but I couldn't. Not like this.

That's when all the zombies charged at me. I let my hidden power go to my glaive. I said, "Aw, come on. You guys are as impatient as a hare."

I sighed a bit annoyed at Takeshi's comment. He always would do things or say things like that and it used to drive me crazy. I looked at the fight before us. "I wish I knew what to do."

Takeshi smiled, "Trust Akira. But not fully. At least, until Akira reveals who he truly is. He is more of a kind-hearted and honest individual than I. And he has shown himself to be a far more fierce warrior than I have ever been."

The zombies were very close to me, and I decided to make my move. I swiped my glaive at the zombies, and just like that, the light created a shockwave that destroyed all of the zombies.
Takeshi nodded his head. He chuckled, "Well done, samurai of justice."
I looked at Takeshi and I shurgged my shoulders. I said, "It was nothing."
