Maria giggled at his light tease as she followed him back to his bike. She nodded in agreement and still wished that her day out with Dimitri didn't have to end. She also wish she knew what was going on between Keon and Prim and only hoped that their little match was doing fine. As she mounted on the bike, her feet resting on the spokes and her arms already resting themselves around Dimitri's waist. She gave his question some thought, grinning back at him before answering. "Unless you really want to meet my family before you go home, then you can just drop me off not too far from the house," Maria answered in her own playful tone.

Can you keep a secret?...
Dimitri laughed softly as he began to peddle, moving away from the crowd, the music fading into background noise. "I think I'll drop you off at the end of the street tonight, maybe I'll meet your family some other day?" he asked, glancing back quickly before looking back to the road. He smiled grimly as he stared ahead at the street. He hoped they liked him...but then again, Maria's father was a police chief, didn't that mean he was used to spotting creeps and psychopaths a mile away? He swallowed nervously, that thought didn't appeal to him, the man was clearly protective of his daughter, what if he thought he wasn't proper company for her? Dimitri realized that he was sweating over it, both as a figure of speech and literally.
Dimitri suddenly pulled to a stop. "Hang on a second." He said, turning and looking back at her. "Which way am I going?"
    But more specifically...Can you keep mine?...

"Sounds like a plan," Maria said with a small nod, "Plus, usually I'm the first one home anyway. My brothers sleep most of the day and then go to my jobs, and my parents tend to come home after work. However, there have been times when someone was home besides me. And I think papá said he'd probably be home early tonight." At that point, she was basically rambling on, not knowing why all of that came out of her mouth. She wasn't aware of what was going on through Dimitri's mind and how worried he was about meeting her father.
She looked up when Dimitri stopped the bike and asked her where they were going. She looked around and tried to remember how to get to her house before finally answering. "Okay, keep going straight and then make a left at the second stop sign," she responded, making sure to concentrate on the directions. Throughout the rest of the ride to her home, Maria made sure to instruct Dimitri to her neighborhood until they were a street away from her home.
The neighborhood was an average neighborhood, a mixture of colored houses and just plain brick red houses. Some had chimneys and others didn't. "And my house is straight down the street," Maria said as she pointed to it, "It has a bit of a beige creamish color, but it's really nice." She got of the bike and stretched before looking at Dimitri and smiling, "Thanks so much for today. I really had a great time."

Dimitri smiled as he pulled the bike to a stop, the gravel under the wheels skidding and crunching slightly. Dimitri looked around the neighborhood, glad that Maria lived in a nice place. He smiled slightly, realizing that it wasn't to far from his little apartment, he could definitely walk here if he needed to.
Dimitri felt the girls arms loosen from around his waist and then slip off. He was sorry to see her go, but he knew he'd remember everything that had happened today for the rest of his life. Dimitri stepped off the bike himself, turning to face Maria. "I'm glad we got to do this," He said looking at her with a faint smile. "Hey, and we don't have to wait a really long time before we do it again do we?" He asked with a soft laugh. 'no, I don't think I could stand to be away from you that long...' He added in thought.
Dimitri shifted uncertainly for a moment, he wanted to do something more than just ride away, it almost seemed cowardly. Quite suddenly, Dimitri leaned his kissing her on the lips. It was quick, and gentle, but it was definitely a kiss. The young man pulled back quickly, his face a shade paler than normal and looking shocked at what he had done. Very slowly, his face began to heat up till it was a brilliant shad e of red. "G-G'night Maria." He stammered, before sitting back on his bike and quickly ridding up the street.
But more specifically...Can you keep mine?...

"Of course," Maria said with a bright smile, "Maybe we'll be able to hang out more this week if we go over to visit Arielle at Kedrick's estate. Or you know, just the two of us, alone." She felt her cheeks warm up as she uttered that sentence, but hoping that it would actually happen. There was no doubt in her mind that they would probably spend a lot of time together, but she hoped that they could go out on dates and dance again. And maybe go out to dinner or catch a movie, she thought, feeling excited about future date possibilities. At that point of the day, Maria no longer saw their get together as an "appointment" but an official first date, one she wouldn't replace for the world.
Maria wished that she had more time to spend with him and only wished that her homework didn't exist at all. Before she could say anything else to Dimitri, she was suddenly surprised when he leaned in to kiss her on the lips. She blinked in surprise, taken off guard but couldn't help but feel completely happy inside. She looked back at him and noticed his shocked facial expression before his face began to show some red. She felt like she was too slow as he wished her goodnight and rode away on his bike.
She stared after him for a few seconds before breaking out into a lovesick grin. She placed her fingers on her lips and immediately felt like skipping back home and ignoring the fact that she had homework. She waved back to the disappearing figure of Dimitri and headed back home, beginning to confirm in her mind that she was definitely in love with him.

It had been two weeks since Dimitri had kissed Maria there on the sidewalk, and the two of had gotten together several times since then to spend more time together. Neither had admitted to them being a couple, Dimitri had yet to confess his love. For Arielle and Kedrick on the other hand, things had been going very well. Arielle's stomach had healed completely and everyone was ready to celebrate. It was Saturday morning, and the barbeque had been carefully planed for that afternoon.
Kedrick murmured softly to himself, the warm morning light spilling though his window. The young man squeezed his eyes closed tighter and sighed, finally, reluctantly cracking them open. Kedrick shifted his head, his blond-brown hair sliding across his pillow. He caught sight of the calendar on his wall and the red circle around today's date. A slow, sleepy smile spread across the boys face as he remembered all the fun things they had planed for the day. Kedrick sat up, fumbling of his shirt that he had slid off and it had gotten tangled in the sheets. He clawed it on over his head and slid out of bed, his feet patting lightly on the sun-warmed wood floor of his bedroom.
Kedrick stepped into the hallway, walking down to Arielle's bedroom door witch was slightly ajar. He peeked in to see if she was still asleep. "Good morning." He called very quietly, leaning his head against the door frame and smiling.

The days that had gone by for Arielle's recovery seemed like they went faster than she had anticipated. During her first week in bed, just as Maria had pre-warned her, some officers had come one day when she felt well enough to walk around the house. The interrogation was somewhat intimidating as well as it was relieving. She felt like she was doing good serving justice to the many girls who were also under Jonesy's control. Then the time of his trial came and Arielle had never felt more happy to get rid of the man who made most of her life a nightmare. The only thing that had managed to give her some trouble with sleeping at night was the way that he had looked at her, a look of sheer hatred. Had it not been for Kedrick, Maria, and Dimitri, she probably would be loosing her nerves at that moment.
Everything else seemed like a blur. As soon as she got better, she, along with Kedrick, Maria, and her grandparents soon began planning the celebratory barbeque. Meals were planned and separated between them all and it was also decided that her grandfather would grill the rest of the food that wasn't already prepared for beforehand.
That Saturday morning, Arielle was sleeping peacefully, most of her hair covering her face. Her covers were almost falling off her bed and one arm was slumped over the bed. It took her a few seconds to wake up since she was so comfortable in her bed. She rose up slowly and rubbed her eyes just around the same time that Kedrick had said good morning. She pushed some hair out of her face and smiled warmly at him. "Good morning Kedrick. Sleep well?" She got out of the bed with a stretch, rubbing her eyes a little bit more.

"Hmm..." Kedrick hummed softly with a sleepy smile in response, the morning was already warm and it promised to be perfect weather for a barbeque. "I slept fine." He said, pushing away from the door frame and walking over to her. He cupped her face in his hands, kissing her forehead, feeling the warmth of her skin as his lips pressed against her forehead. "And yourself?" He asked gently, one hand sliding back to brush the hair from her face, resting on the back of her neck.
He still worried about her sometimes, he remembered the trouble she had had with nightmares after Jonesy's trial. It had been days before she had seemed completely 'right' so to speak, but she seemed to be doing fine now. Kedrick smiled softly, feeling her smooth hair under his hand. All he could think was how lucky he was to have her, and what a wonderful day it was going to be

"I'm glad you slept well, Kedrick," Arielle said with a gentle smile. Her smile grew a little as he walked over to her and kissed her forehead. His hands felt warm on her skin and that simple touch had woken her up more than before. She looked up at him and shrugged her shoulders gently. "Well, judging from the slobber remains on my pillow and how my bed looks, I guess I have to say that I slept peacefully."
After a few seconds, she wrapped her arms around him in a hug and stayed like that for a few seconds. She looked up at him with a bright grin on her face. "Today's the big day Kedrick," she said happily, "Can you believe the barbeque has finally arrived?"

Kedrick's smile widened. "hardly." He replied with a grin, his arms still around her shoulders even though he had let her have a little bit of space. His heart fluttered in excitement as he thought about it, getting together with everyone, seeing Arielle's grandparents again, his sisters, Dimitri, even getting to meet Maria's father to whom he owed so much for saving Arielle. He took a deep breath and then looked back at Arielle. "How about some breakfast?" He asked, turning and walking out the door, his arm around her waist.
Soon the two of them were in the kitchen and kedrick was busy rooting though the fridge. "Wow...." He murmured softly to himself. "There's plenty of food in the fridge....but it's all for the party this afternoon that's no fair...."

"Breakfast sounds wonderful," Arielle responded with a small smile as she followed Kedrick out of her room and into the kitchen. For Arielle, this would be the first time that the estate would have so many people present. It would be the most exciting day ever.
As they entered the kitchen, Arielle was about to pull out some things and put them when Kedrick mentioned about the amount of food in the fridge. She giggled, remembering their inside joke about their fridge. "Don't worry, Kedrick," she said sweetly, "We can always feed our baby fridge more food if there's not a lot left over."
(Meh... Such a brain fart post :/.)

Kedrick laughed warmly as he thought about their old joke. "Okay, okay." He gasped, taking a deep breath and smiling at her. "We'll make sure to refill the fridge after today." He said, digging around inside till he found some leftover soup from the night before. "Want some soup?" He asked with a laugh, pouring some into a pan on the stove top and turning on the burner. Instantly, the blueish flames flared up, beginning to heat the soup. Kedrick enjoyed having leftovers for breakfast, it was a little odd, but he enjoyed it none the less.
Kedrick looked up as he stirred the soup. "So...I talked to Dimitri on the phone last night..." He said with a small smirk, looking over at Arielle. "He said he's been spending a lot of time with Maria...." He trailed off, laving Arielle to finish the thought. Ever since their two friends had met, the two of them had been hoping they would make a good couple.

"Good," Arielle said with a playful smirk, leaning against the fridge, "Because I don't want my poor baby to feel neglected. Isn't that right, Fridgey?" She pat the top of the fridge and giggled, sitting up and followed behind Kedrick. When he offered them having soup for breakfast, she nodded, knowing that if they didn't finish it, it'd just sit in the fridge and go bad.
Arielle went back to setting the table up for them. As she pulled down the bowls, Kedrick had just mentioned Dimitri and the conversation he had with him about his time spent with Maria. She felt herself smile, knowing that Maria had done the same thing with her after every outing she had with Dimitri. "I'm so glad they're getting along so well," Arielle said with a grin, setting the bowls on the table, "I can't wait until they're official. I've never seen Maria this happy about a boy in...well...ever."

Kedrick felt his face split into a grin, looking at Arielle. "Really?" He asked teasingly, pulling the spoon out of the soup pot to give his hand a rest. "I knew it..." He said softly to himself, a smile touching his lips. "Dimitri really seems to light up around her, she'd be really good for him...Come to think of it...." He mused, looking up at the ceiling. "I think this is the longest time Dimitri has stayed with one girl since I've know him, He really does love her I think." Kedrick said with a smile.
The young man pulled two bowls out of the cabinet and ladled the soup into them, carefully carrying them to the table. Kedrick set them down gently so as not to spill them. "Soups up." He said with a smile, raising his spoon like in a toast and sitting down to eat.

She giggled and smiled back, not finding anything to say in response to him. She took out two glasses and some apple juice and milk, knowing that he would have one or the other. "Well, I definitely know that Maria is in love with Dimitri," Arielle said with a gentle smile. "I wonder when Dimitri will confess to her..."
She sat down at the table and poured herself a glass of apple juice as Kedrick brought their soup. She smiled and raised hers up, returning the toast. She took a taste of her soup and smiled. "There's nothing like soup in the morning," Arielle said with a smile, "Since I was on that diet for about two weeks." She giggled and ate more of her soup, her mind going back to thoughts of the barbeque later that afternoon.
