Lunaru gave up at this point. He slumped himself to the dance and dropped his present in the pile. He then walked passed a big buff student who looked more like he was in his mid 20's. He paid it no mind. He walked over to the chairs near the man and sat down. He let out one huge sigh. "Did i really come for nothing." He thought aloud, "whats the point of a dance with no one to dance with."

He looked over at the new student again, then looked at the doors, and over to Takashi and his cousin. He dropped his head for a second. When he lifted it he sat back in the chair and slouched. He slid down so far, his head was on the seat part and he was staring up at the ceiling and lights. He closed his eyes and imagined a happy moment hed like to have. He thought of his cousin and his mom, his aunt, uncle... and... his dad. He only had the pictures of him in his memories but it seemed enough. HE began to imagine it as he lay there with his eyes closed. It felt like a dream but he could hear everything around him, but his physical sense was gone. some one could walk up to him right in front of him and kick him, and he probably wouldnt notice. He began to feel warm as he thought about it. He didnt want such a feeling to leave, so he stayed like that.

He knew she was depressed. Hell, two women were. He didn’t know which to go to. He voted for the one who ran, usually when people were depressed they tried stupid things. He didn’t want such a beauty to go to waste. The woman who was crying more than likely wouldn’t do anything while he was gone. After all, she was surrounded by people, people that hopefully cared.

With a nod, more to himself than anyone else he quickly dashed after the woman, using the wind to propel him faster. He didn’t know where she went; he couldn’t find her she did have a head start. However, he had one small advantage that others wouldn’t; He was a wind user. Slowly he began to focus his thoughts, concentrate on the woman’s scent. Within a matter of moments he smelt her, he knew where she was, the roof. Like crazy he dashed off in that direction, hoping to stop a disaster.

Pushing open the door he sighed, a sigh of relief. She was still in one piece, hopefully she would still be for the rest of the night then he could rest easy. “Milady, is something troubling you?” He asked rather concerned, he didn’t know her but he couldn’t let her do anything stupid. “I assume it has something to do with that woman’s message? Would you like to talk about it?” He moved closer, putting himself between her and the ledge.

Still crying Mandy sniffled softly. She couldn’t allow this to happen. She couldn’t allow people to see her like this. Wiping away her tears she stood up, however, her eyes were red from the crying. She didn’t care, you could only see if you got close. Climbing down from the DJ booth she walked over to Tai and offered a small smile. “S-Sir, C-Can we talk?” She asked looking at the ground before he could see into her eyes.

She heard him come from behind her, but still didn't look up. After he had placed himself before her she turned away from him again. "No, I don't want to talk about it, thank you." She said bluntly, her voice revealing that she was crying even if she hid her tear-streaked face. What was up with this guy? To approach her, and not even introduce himself, and yet ask her to open up...?

She looked up at the night sky, embracing the winter chill that bit her skin when she noticed a specific star hanging above her, the one Jay had named after her. At this she bit her lip to prevent her from sobbing. Yes, the reason why she kept checking her phone was to see if there was any news from the hospital, to see if he was okay so that she could tell him that she couldn't return his feelngs. But, at his passing here she was, crying. Sure, she didn't love him in the way he had said he had loved her, but that didn't matter. He had cared for her, and they were still friends nonetheless, giving her reason enough to cry. The tears obscured her vision as she didn't take her eyes off of the star, his words echoing in her head, how he has said that she will always be etched in his memory. And now you are etched in mine... She thought sadly.

Remembering the guy behind her she looked forward, not turning to face him. "This is...something personal, if you don't mind." Aurelia did not want to seem rude, but this felt uncomfortable to her, and she wanted him to leave her alone.

With a small smile he dipped into another bow and headed towards the door. “As you wish ma’am, just promise me you will not jump. Depression can be a hard thing on anyone and often leads to suicide.” Turning the handle slowly he stopped and looked back at the woman. “If I may, my name is Shou, Shou Yaso. If you ever need anything, anything I mean. I am your man, and good evening.” Before she could reply he opened the door and stepped through, descending the stairs swiftly.

Once he was far enough away he leaned against the wall and sighed softly. He was rejected, how couldn’t she want him? Then, it clicked. She was depressed and depression made people do stupid things, like turning him down. He smiled and nodded to himself; that had to be it. After all, there were other fish in the sea, and he would try again later on. After all, why try and make a move on a depressed woman?

After Shou had left, Aurelia went to a wall and leaned back on it, soon sliding so that she ended up sitting down on the floor. At least he was polite in leaving as she had wanted. Putting down her mask and her purse she pulled her knees in so that she could wrap her arms around them. Bowing her head into her chest she finally began to cry freely. Shou's words had hit home, though. "Depression can be a hard thin on anyone and often leads to suicide." "Really, now...? Then what did I miss?!" She cried. Jay had jumped out of a window, she had heard. What more, he had set himself on fire. "Was it....Jason?" Biting her lip the sobs continued to come out. I should have seen it...

Riku looked up after playing his fifth song, and noticed that Aurelia, who had disappeared earlier, was still yet to be back. Picking up the mic again, he spoke into it, "Alright Ball goers, I'm taking a break and tossing this on shuffle. When I get back, expect a Riku special: Winter Ball Dance Off!" He signed off as a few people cheered, and he left to go outside. Where would Aurelia go... right! The roof! She always chose that for their meeting spot, maybe she'd be there.

Emerging from the stairs, he saw Aurelia with a somewhat depressed looking form. "Hey, Aurelia..." He slowly said, walking just as slowly. "Jay's death shook you a bit hard... right?"

Tai looked down at Mandy's hair and slid his glasses up. She was obviously a bit battered by her cousins death, no doubt about that. But, the limit of his comforting was limited, so why she chose him out of everyone else was beyond him. "Sure, we can talk." He replied to her shaky, and cracked voice.

With a small yet noticeable nod Mandy motioned towards the door out to the hallway. Sighing softly as she walked towards it and leaned against the wall. He head still faced the ground. She knew Tai had followed her, she heard his foot steps. “Sir, he didn’t have to do it.” She said softly, yet it was clear she was choking back tears. “We, his family, were there for him. He didn’t have to kill himself.” He looked up at the teacher, tears now falling from her eyes. “But, he did. Why’d he do it sir?” As she cried she fell to the ground holding her head in her hands.

Aurelia stopped, wondering how long he had been there since she had not heard him. Bringing her head up she wiped her face couldn't respond. "Why...why did he kill himself?" She whimpered. "I don't get it...Was it something I did? Did I miss something?" Crying she brushed her hair off of her face, some of her hair wet from her tears. "I...I should have seen it..." Aurelia sunk down even further, but kept down the folds of her dress for modesty's sake. Right now she just wanted to sink down into a hole and wallow there.

Lunaru noticed a few people were now exiting and they werent even close to done. Lunaru at this point had finished his dream session and now longed to be back in it. He then began to wander around the Dance. As he walked, he was bumped and banged. He hated being so short sometimes. He cursed as he made his way to the punch bowl. He thought for a second. "Why are my cases so literal?" he thought as he felt the bruise on his arm he had just received from a guy waving his arms around thinking he could dance. He poured himself a cup and drank it, then quickly disposed of the cup so he didnt have to carry it.

he began his wandering again. As he walked, he was looking everywhere, but where he was going and tripped. As he fell, he went face first into the side of Ken Ryuu. He helf his head as he sat on the Ground tears in his eyes from the trauma right above his right eyebrow. He wasnt crying just tearing, he just hoped other people thought that too. When he looked up and the tears settled, he saw who he bumped into and he thought his heart stopped. Surely Ken would be in a good mood now that he was at the dance. Lunaru really hoped so.

With a smile on his face Shou again gliding into the cafeteria, he might have gotten rejected but there was an ocean of possibilities lying in wait at the ball. He kept gliding, women looking at him causing their men to give them and him dirty looks. He didn’t blame the women, after all how couldn’t you want to look at perfection in all its glory? The men though, were jealous; he knew it and thrived on it. At least he’d made his mark on the school already.

Gliding, slowly he kept moving, not wanting to stay still. As he was passing the tables a woman dressed all in black save for her burgandy dress, caught his eye. She was wearing a corset dress, and from the looks of it she had ample chest room. Maybe my night wasn’t a complete waste after all. His smile got bigger as he moved towards her, rather soundlessly until he stood behind her.

Softly he placed his hands on her shoulders and took a breath. “Milady, one who radiates beauty such as yours should not be alone on a day that allows your true beauty to shine.” Slowly be allowed his feet to touch the ground, coming down on the balls of his feet rolling back slowly until he was standing fully on his feet. “I mean, if you are waiting for a man that is understandable. However, to leave a woman as beautiful as you sitting all alone, that is a shame.” He smiled as he walked in front of her and dipped into a low bow. “My name is Shou Yaso, a pleasure to meet you Milady.” Taking a seat beside her he listened to the music waiting for her to talk.

At the announcement, Trey felt her heart stop. Her eyes widen, a dumb founded look crossing her face. "No... No no no.. This can't be.. She was misinformed.. Right, right?" she looked up at Ken tears threatening her eyes. She wouldn't let them fall, she wasn't crying anymore. This can't be happening. The night of the ball, Christmas eve.. It can't be happening! It isn't true! I'll go to the hospital, and everything will be fine. I didn't kill anyone! her thoughts screamed.

She felt herself begin to shake, she needed to calm down. Before another Earthquake incident happened again. And heaven forbid that, the head mistress would surely expel her if she destroyed the school.

Then she remembered the feeling she got when she left her room, then she thought she saw him. Maybe it was his ghost, maybe he was haunting her for rejecting him. But surely he was just playing about that, he couldn't love her, he knew nothing about her. The conversation flooding through her head like fish in the sea.

"I'd love to dance Ken.. " her voice cracked out, hoping that if she was with him, it would take her mind off Jay. It seemed to work before, though of course she passed out with no memory of how she got to her room.. And they had the gifts to give out, the gift.. Her gift, she had to see his expression when her person received it. She wasn't going to let this bother her now, there was plenty of time to cry after the ball, after tonight..

Karii watched as some students left, and some where obviously still shocked by the news, hell she was. Jay would of been one of her students, he was a fire user after all, she felt a small loss herself, even if she hadn't met the kid. She sighed as she watched the girl speak with the other teacher. Shaking her head, he was obviously involved. But go figure, having a young teacher like that in a high school with beautiful girls, his same age.

She sighed and laid her head down, feeling a slight sadness creep upon her.

"Marry Christmas.." she whispered to herself, she missed her fiancee' even though it was almost a year since he died. She sighed, maybe teaching was a bad idea. But that thought quickly was dismissed. She wouldn't think like that, that was how bad teachers where formed.

Morrigan sighed as she left her dorm. She was no longer the spade, no she was now a diamond. And with a new cover over her dorm, she shook her head. She was rather fond of the Spade, but it didn't matter anyways. She seemed to go up in the lower court, which was beyond her.

The small twelve year old held her bear close to her as she made her way to the dance. She had no idea why she was going in the first place, no one asked her, no one would dance with a mute freak as herself. No one would want to dance with someone who looked eight.

Once inside, she looked around, seeing what looked like two other students her age. She quickly walked to them, but stopped when she saw that Mandy was upset.. But she was also talking to their teacher, so she assumed she should just let it go, Mandy would come to her when she was ready, no use in trying to make her talk if she didn't want too.

Haru quickly smoothed her dress, it was a princess cut, having a wide bottom with pink and blue ruffles, she looked like a porcelain doll. Her hair tied back with two blue ribbons as well, she had slight color on her cheeks, and a faint shadow above her eye. Makeup looked awkward on her, so she really never got into it. She then made her way toward one of the other kids her age, a white haired boy. Seeing he was her age, and not a adult, she found it silly to be afraid of him.

The Headmistress

User ImageStella being Stella was inappropriately dressed for the Ball, not that she cared too much anyway, she was headmistress no one was going to say anything about it, to her face at least. The young headmistress of the school was dressed in a warm tight fitting black turtleneck, and very skinny grey jeans, and knee high black stiletto boots. Grey eye shadow and eyeliner was all she needed to look like a femme fatale. A quick glance at the clock told her that she was late for the Ball, but the young woman took her time before she left her quarters.

Her boots dropped a subtle drumbeat on the tiled hallways as she leisurely made her way to the cafeteria where the ball was being held. As the black clad headmistress made her entrance into the balls, she got quite a few admiring glances from the students, and disproving stares from the teachers for not wearing festive clothing.

She had just plopped herself down into an open chair at the teacher's table when Mandy, the Black Knight Rook made an announcement that the boy that had jumped from the window and burst into flame was dead. As a hush of silence ensued, the new fire teacher, Karii rushed over to the girl who was sobbing on the floor. The mood for the ball was now ruined and Stella didn't quite know what to do. Like before with Trey she didn't know how to handle herself around people in grief. I suppose I'll just have to hire a bunch of grief counselors once the holidays are over. I'll put that in the announcements tomorrow. The twenty one year old thought rather lamely as she watched Karii lead the girl out of the cafeteria from her seat at the table.

When the red haired teacher returned she laid her head down on the table. Curious as to what was wrong and wanting to know what had happened to the boys cousin, Stella silently appeared at the woman's side placing a cold hand on the woman's shoulder. " Are you alright Karii?" The slim black haired woman asked in her English accented voice.

Karii rose her head to look at her boss, a small smile playing her features rather nicely, even if it was a fake one. She wasn't alright, she never was around the holidays. She sighed as she lifted her head, looking at the miss.

"I'll be fine shortly, miss. I am just a little upset I lost a student I don't even know. His cousin said suicide, maybe we should place a couple of students on suicide watch, miss? Seeing some teenagers make suicide pacts, we don't want a series of deaths here." she said, she was being serious. She seen it a million times when she was going to college, four or five students taking their own lives because of some bull reason. It was sickening to think about, but they thought they was doing right.

She then propped her head on her fists, elbows on the table as she gazing at the steel eyed mistress, smirking as she wasn't dressed for the occasion either, still in her teacher attire. She really did not see a point in teachers dressing up for this occasion, it was for the students after all.

Hayden stood against the wall in the winter themed room that had gone from a cheerful event to a rather depressing atmosphere. He sighed, his hand going up to his check where a red hand mark still faintly burned. Behind his golden mask, his bright blue eyes searched the crowd for Astin though she had made herself very clear that morning that he wasn't to do anything just for the night. He shifted in his all black tux its golden tie standing out among the black irrated that he was so useless since he couldn't watch over Astin.

Though he knew if anything got to troublesome he would have to break his word and probably end up with a matching mark on the other side of his face. Sighing as the music shifted to a slower song he walked over to the table filled with drinks and toke one, sipping from it as he scanned the room looking for someone to keep his attention away from Astin.

Pulling her the top part of her dress up as she scrutinized her appearance Astin glanced at the time and groaned she needed to just be satisfied otherwise she was going to miss the whole Winter Ball. Her hair was in soft waves all flowing down her back matching the flow of colors in her dress that gave off a warm glow that she had also mimicked with her makeup. Picking up the gold mask that was trimmed with tiny gold roses she placed it over her eyes and she used the golden ribbon that hung around it to tie it in place so that it wouldn't fall. Her bright blue eyes stood out even more against the gold and from the pink, purple, and tan hues in her dress.

Astin left her room, after slipping on a pair of golden heels, and headed down to the ball. As she waited in the line she noticed some guys in her class staring at her and she looked forward till it came her turn to enter the ball. Smiling at Tai's work she wandered about the ballroom turning her attention towards someone who looked like Aurelia and a guy out on the balcony. She frowned, Aurelia never told her she had a date though Aurelia had now left the guy probably due to her duties during the ball, this made Astin feel a bit sad but, by the looks of it she wasn't the only one.

Kimmy had seen the muscle bound student walk in and out, or rather glide. She thought he was kind of sexy before, but she didnt care since she found Takashi. He was obviously not her type. He was all showy and flashy with his wind element. She knew this only because of her cousin being one as well. Thinking back to her cousin, she immediately thought to his ability and wanted to see him fight the guy. Her adrenalin was rushing along with her passion. She wanted to fight and love Takashi at the same time. It was awkward to her. she'd never felt like that before. She quickly Brushed the thought as Takashi dipped her into another pirouette. From that, her thoughts went back to how well he knew how to dance. She didnt know how to dance fancy like this, yet she was doing it, just like in his dorm. She wondered why. For now she wouldnt burden herself with the night.

After hearing the news she had already knew of herself, she looked to see if Tai still had his flower, he didnt, but when he'd see it if he left it in his dorm, it would surely be crunchy and withered. She may not of known him, but she wanted to be the one to give the flowers. She was sure he would of wanted to of been buried with a special flower and she could make any, this included new kinds of flowers that dont normally exist, like a purple rose. Her specialty was winter flowers, so other flowers from other parts of the year, or atleast summer and fall flowers, were alot harder for her. This never stopped her from making people happy with them, or making them for some one who was deeply cherished. She felt her mission in life was to deliver flowers.

Lunaru noticed Morrigan coming and he immediately lost all fear of Ken. He hopped up off the floor and dusted himself off and waited for her approach.

Takashi had noticed the new kid on his way to his dorm earlier. He thought he would be some show offy jock disbrain, but the man had class and was very swav. Takashi admired that in a man as well as loathed it. However, he didnt much care this time. He had Kimmy and that was enough. Now if he tried anything, then the flames would fly. Takashi smirked at the thought of burning him. "I like fire just a bit too much sometimes." He thought with a smirk.

He quickly moved his attention back to Kimmy. He wanted to do something interesting dedicated to her. He slowly fell out of their dance and stood there looking into her eyes. "I have something for you." he said with that same tone of amour in his voice. He then shot his hands up in the air as a string of fire shot from it. The string then stopped and a dragon appeared on the left side. At the end of the sting, a ring was formed. The dragon did flips and dives as he changed the various fire spectrum of heated colors. the dragon then began to play around the loop, but never quite going in it, like a game of cat and mouse. Eventually, it was caught, and the colors shimmered as they combined. The dragon then settled. Takashi had been controlling the actions of both. He then had the dragon fly over the crowd in a blue shimmering light. The dragon then got smaller and targeted kimmy who was awe struck. It flew in as it got smaller, then loosely coiled around her, until its head was at hers. The Dragon then opened its mouth, and a rose mixing with the many shades of fire like the dragon had before, slowly emerged. As it swung infront of her face, it burst into sparkles, as did the dragon, creating a gust that spread it all around the ball.

He was satisfied, as he took in the glares and admiring faces of the residents of the dance. What meant to him the most, was the look he would receive from kimmy's face, and no one else's.
