Good for you. I probably would have told him that I was reporting his account as hacked.

Yeah, it's really hard to believe that story when he had spoken of handing the guild over before.
I told him that he could return but he would be on probation, would have to be very active (something that's impossible for him), and he would have to write a sincere well written explanation and apology to the guild for what had happened.
And that there was no way in hell he would be anything else other than a member of the guild. Yes I ruling over him with a cast iron fist!
If he actually does it I'll be shocked as hell.

You were a great deal more generous about it than I would have been.

Oh heavens no, it's not generous when you know the person is incapable of doing that. It's like telling a spoiled arrogant king to bow down and kiss your feet. Or telling Lindsy Lohan that she can be free if she can stay away from drugs and drinking for a month.

Thank you Alie, I was hoping someone would be able to explain that...
If I were the one who got captain, I would have just said, "that's nice" and ignored the person... It might have been believe if it wasn't so wrong...

Oh he's not coming back. Really an ex captain returning to their guild. And if I do things right and get it active and fun when he couldn't, a vindictive and just plain mean part of me wants that to happen just so I can rub it in his face.

That sounds awesome! =D I'd laugh at him.
Is it that one with the sexy cat girl that I saw every day and wouldn't join cause if I did she'd change out of the sexy cat girl outfit? I liked that outfit...

So recently, in another guild, this chick posts up this ' giveaway' thread. And it went something like this... Quote: A long, long time ago, in a home office far, far away (at least far away from where I live now) I joined Gaia Online. I was at the ripe ole age of 13 and had just learned about the site from a boy I liked in my science class (oh, Sean, you were so cute). Anyway, after years of being a casual Gaian who posted in forums, watched the making of towns (including the rise and fall of the popularity of Gaia homes), 4 avatars, and a plethora of hours wasted, I have decided to leave Gaia for good. I took time off throughout my nearly 7 years on the site (I joined in mid 2004), but this time I think it is for good. See, I am turning 20 on the 24th. I never intended to be a Gaian for this long, and honestly, I feel like most the forums here just aren't that catered to people my age. Sure, extended discussion can be fun at times, but most of the time I feel like an old fish in a young pond. It is time I close this chapter of my life, and move off on a new journey. Since I hate to see my millions just rest in the shadows, unused and unloved, I would like to give them to someone else who can carry on my memory by using and loving my items. This person needs to possess an interesting wit, love of learning (be it in school or just society), and a quirkiness that I admire. To find this person (or people, for I am willing to divide the loot), I wish for potential owners of my items to answer some questions. There is no minimum or maximum answer length, and as many of the prompts/questions can be used. Please submit them in this thread by Sunday, September 19th. On my birthday (again, the 24th) the awarding process will begin. PROMPTS: 1. If you were a crayon, what color would you be, and why (automatic loss if the reason is simply that it is your favorite color)? 2. What impact has mathematics made on your life? 3. Discuss the symbolism used in the videogame Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. 4. What is your favorite NPR program? Why? 5. What is an actuary? How do you feel about actuaries? 6. Describe your reaction to the ending of the movie, The Departed. 7. Who is your favorite composer, and why? 8. When did you know that you were truly a Gaian? 9. What was your favorite Gaia event? What made it so awesome to you? 10. Discuss your favorite place in Alabama. Simple, right? Well, miss giveaway has turned out to have 'scammed' us. Making us waste time on her stupid questionnaire, and yet a month later she's still hasn't given a single participant anything. In fact, considering her avatar keeps going through minor changes, I doubt she's quit at all.

Um... was Ocarina of Time meant to be symbolic? Or did she just think of it that way?
Also, I'd just like to note, I don't really like Alabama... I drove through it a couple times and something about it just annoyed me...

Of course Ocarina of Time was symbolic. The creators never intended it to be, of course, but things always become symbolic once some random twit decides that they represent something. I've pissed off so many literature teachers with that answer...

For example, my answer to the symbolism of Oot:
Once upon a time, I read a rather enlightening little Fan Letter in Game Informer about a group of three friends that, lacking any better task, proceeded to down a six pack of Red Bull each, and played OoT to completion. Along the way, they mused that the goddesses represented Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit. The Triforce was the the Holy Trinity and the Holy Bible. Link was David, and Ganon was Goliath. And they proceeded to link the rest of the supporting case to other biblical figure, though on a few..like Malon, I feel they were stretching.
Undoubtedly, this is not what Miyamoto intended as symbolism. But from the perspective of an archetypal study, it is rather interesting to read. And then it was funny when the GI staff mocked them for their over-reading of the themes.

LMAO
I love how stupid people are so quick to over think things, undoubtedly to make themselves seem smarter.
Based on just that, I don't like that person...

Agreed. But the action does make it very easy to identify which people need to be relieved of their ability to breed.

Screw Oot, that's right I said screw it and people with their sucky 'oh I've out-grown this site so have my stuff but first jump through these hoops' things.
I'm still recovering from Psychonauts and the horrible dread that comes with knowing that an awesome game like that won't have a squeal but shitty ones with the same old trite plot does.
And the staff on GI is awesome give or take a few people.
