My mother, reading from a script: The plane has crashed. The pilot is dead. You find in the wreckage a pistol, extra warm clothes, a bottle of whiskey, a hatchet, a blanket, and a box of chocolates. What are the three most important items?
Some girl scout: Let's drink the whiskey, eat the chocolate, and shoot ourselves.
My mother: Works for me.
