Jacen knew who was trailing him, and he allowed her to continue until he was near the comm room.
"Alex....why are you following me?," he asked as he punched in the entrance code.
.....Because.....
"Because this is how you remember me? Taking charge when no one else would?"
Yes.
"I'm glad I haven't disappointed you yet," he said as he walked into the massive communications array, and took a seat nearby. He watched Alexandria walk through and sit next to him. He was in awe. In a matter of one day, he learned he had a sixteen year old daughter. Of course, he knew that it was she was his kid. The mannerisms were there, she looked almost exactly like her mother, Penance did...
Dad?
"Sorry....sorry....I....this is just alot to absorb," he replied as he started to aimlessly go through some files.
I know what you mean. The sound of her voice trailed off in his mind, which distracted him momentarily. She looked saddened at the thought and turned around suddenly, and Jacen could have sworn he heard the young girl crying. And of course she was. He could feel the sorrow cascading from her.
"Alexandria...," he said calmly as he stood up. "Tell me what happened...please?"
He rested his hand on her shoulder, to help calm her a bit, but she didn't seem too calmed at the moment.
We....you, Mom, myself...we were all trying to find another place to settle down. Our first home, we had lived in it for a few years, was destroyed by some creatures. It was hard to say what they were, exactly, but we were moving. Alex stopped to sniffle a bit and turned to look up at Jacen. Indeed he felt a bit of sadness when he saw his daughter's dark blue eyes welled up with tears. We had made it to the outskirts, almost to the MidWestern Annex.....then we were ambushed again. By the same creatures. They forced us to watch as you were slaughtered...
Jacen felt somewhat sick, but he managed a smile. "Listen, Alex," he said as he looked at her. He was trying to find the words to reassure her. He wanted to say something; ANYTHING, but nothing was creeping it's way out. "I don't really know what to say, but... He was cut off by a loud rumbling throughout the mansion, and Alex stood up suddenly.
My friends are in trouble, she screaming in Jacen's head as she ran out of the Comm Room.
"Dammit.....," Jacen said as he forgot about what he was doing and rushed out after Alexandria. If her friends were in trouble, she could wind up in trouble. Not that he was really caring, but they were Xavier's team by proxy. And he didn't like anyone under Xavier's mantle getting hurt.
It seemed like an eternity, but Jacen knew that running through the levels of the Mansion did seem like that. Fortunately for him, now the Institute seemed to be an open air venue, and there was some insidious machine looking down at him. Judging by the fact that Alexandria's friends were running around fighting these things, they weren't friendly.
"These what you were talking about, kid?," Jacen asked Alex as she dodged a blast. Jacen caught the tail end of it, and it hit him hard. A few of the others took defensive positions around Jacen until he was able to stand up. These robots...they hit harder than Sentinels. ALOT harder. And he didn't take a direct shot. "Kid...where are you?," he said to himself as he finally got his bearings about him, and he saw her. She was hidden away a bit, trying to link them all together mentally. He knew cause she was including him in the bunch.
Again, he was caught off guard, if by nothing else, the psychic chatter that clouded every one of his senses. Finally, when he shook his head, he saw that one of the robots had fired a couple of shots towards the wall nearest Alex's position. That's when he heard her scream, and he wasn't sure if that was a vocal or a mental scream. When she opened her eyes, she saw Jacen standing there, the wall about to collapse on top of them both.
DAD!!!
"Alex, move. NOW!!," he commanded as he buckled a bit under the wall's weight. He did what he could to power himself up, but it seemed he was running out of time and energy.
No...I don't want this to...
"If this what was supposed to happen, my dear, then this is what was supposed to happen." He smiled again as he felt a heavy weight on his back. "Move...please....and Alex...." He smiled when she looked at him. "I love you...and...tell your mother that I love her..." No sooner had the words escaped his lips, then about two tons of drywall, lumber, and cobblestone came crashing down on top of Jacen, killing him instantly.

Jamie was stunned. Not so much by the kids from the future or anything, but first by these. . . creatures, these Mechains, and by seeing Jacen get crushed. Jamie had seen people die in New York, but this was different. It just wasn't right, and it happened so fast. "No. . ." Jamie sprung towards a Mechain and felt for his Katana. He swore vividly when he realized it was up in his room, and decided to make do with what he had. Which happened to be his body.
He flew into action, elbowing one in the "gut" and then kneeing it in the leg. He heard a cracking noise, but didn't know if it came from him or from the robot. He dodged a quick punch from a Mechain, and then kicked it in the face with a quick roundhouse. He dodged around a few more blows, and tackled it. When it was on the ground, he straddled it and punched it repeatedly in the face. Then suddenly, he went flying. He lay on the ground for a moment, reeling from the hit he had just taken. He forced himself to his feet, and looked down at his knuckles, seeing them covered in blood. Obviously, these robots were too hard for fists.
Like Jamie actually gave a ********. He charged back in, with a flurry of fists and feet hitting the machine as hard and often as he could, but it didn't seem to do any good. The machine moved to hit him, and Jamie moved, realizing too late that it was feigning. The next thing he knew, he got hit in the side of the head by its arm. He flew three feet to the side and bounced off the ground, before his vision blurred.

"To battle!" Morgan growled, before whipping several Kunai out from under his belt, and leaping at the nearest robot, tackling it to the floor. He attempted to stab at the chest, but his ttacks simply glanced off, barely scratching the metal. The machine raised it's arm to take a swipe at Morgan, who fortunately managed to dodge it. Realizing that it's carapace was too tough to be destroyed from the outside with regular weapons, Mogan opted to get creative. As the robot kicked itself to it's feet, attempting to toss Morgan off, he used the extra momentum to whip himself behind the robot. Placing his palm flat against the back of it's head, he opened a forcefield bubble inside of the robot, causing it's head to dent outwards in strange shapes. With a groan of metal, it slowly cracked open, with sparks spraying everywhere from the severed connections. The robot crumpled to the ground, twitching.
"So, which on next?!" he cried, the battle-lust clearly visible in his eyes.

There she was, minding her own business, standing quietly in a corner letting the whole world unfold in front of her. One second she finds out Sonya is the key to the destruction of the future and then the next everyone is beating the crap out of someone else and robots from out of nowhere are attacking them. Yeah, a typical day at the X-mansion she guessed. Reluctantly peeling off the wall, her first instinct of "Oh, s**t" was quickly overridden by the notion of possible saving the day. Oh great, she thought rolling her eyes, these X-geeks are already starting to rub off on me.
Assuming somewhat of a battle stand she ready herself for an attack even though the "boys" seemed to have it under control. Almost exactly on cue, a robo-thingy landed with a THUD in front of her, advanced with its gauntleted gloved poised for the kill. Doing the first thing that came to mind, she kicked in at its center point which turned out to be a major mistake. A sickening rip filled the air an in an instant she knew why. Her denim knee-length skirt now had a humongous rip up the side seam, leaving her still clothed, but with more of an Amazonian look then she had intended. And to top it off the kick which ordinarily would have been a groaner for the recipient, turned out to barely set it back an inch. As the damn robot advanced on her, eyes glowing evilly only two words were floating through her head: "Oh s**t."

Markus grabbed Sonya. "Let's get you to safety...." He said and started to pull her away. He was fairly possitive that he wasn't going to be much help here. He also didn't want to see her get hurt.
Sato pointed at one of the robots and condenced water inside it's vital sections causing massive shorts in it's electical systems. With a groan it slumped onto the ground smoke coming from it's joints.

"Victoria!!" yelled Sasha. She got some sand and made a pile of it. She rushed it towards Victoria. The sand quickly swallowed her up like quicksand before the robot's arm smashed her. Sand made the sand pile come over towards her. She reached in and pulled out Victoria.
One was coming towards Sora and Sato. "Let's team up bro," she said.
Ana was fighting one. It knocked her down but she rolled away from it's blow. But it had her cornered.
Then an electric chain formed around it's leg. It was from Sonya. She was pulling hard. The robot was falling towards her. Sonya shieled herself. She waited for the impact but it never came. She saw the robot froze in midair.
"Hurry," struggled Ana, "I can't hold it for long. It's too big."
But another robot came up and grabbed Sonya. Sonya pounded it and tried elecricuting it, but it was still putting a big squeeze on her.

Markus lept onto the bot holding Sonya and pushed his arms through the gaps in the joints. He grabbed hold of a handfull of wires and started cutting through them. After a second it's hands spasmed open and Sonya fell to the ground.
"Right!" He looked at Ana. "Ana! Behind you!" He barked seeing one of the robots coming up behind her. "That one first!" He told his sister already moving.

Rachael had no idea what was going on. She was trying to help the guests evacuate the school. "Please....just hurry....." She said as they filed out most of them were taking this oddly instride...the others were scared.
As soon as Sonya hit the ground Kathy was there to scoop her up and carry her away so Ana could drop the robot she had been holding up. "Gotcha kid..." She said.

Kris was doing reasonably well against his robot. The size of his blade and the force of his swings were doing far more damage then a normal sword could perform. By now, He'd managed to sever part of an arm, and had forced his blade into the opening, causing more damage. Cracking the arm from the inside, he finally drives his blade into the chest through the arm socket. Twisting the blade around and causing more damage, he pulls back as the robot falls to the ground, twitching. "..." Turning, he moves on the the next one, fighting his way towards the others.

"Okay Sato, you know the routine. You blast the water and I'll freeze it," Sora said to her twin brother.
Sonya fell into Cathy's arms. She was still dazed from being squezed half to death. "C-cathy," she said, as she was being carried outside.
Sasha and Victoria were running from one. It thrust it's arm into the wall, causing the roof to fall in. Sasha jumped over Victoria and placed a rock shield over them. Pietro, where are you?

He nodded and sent a colum of water at the robot soaking it thoroughly. "It's all you sis!" He said pulling back for another go.
Markus jerked his arms out and managed to leap onto it's back. He then shoved his arms into it's neck and tore out the wires there. He received a small shock as he pulled one of the power couplings but he was quick to recover. The robot topled to the ground and Markus lept off.

Cathy grinned. "Right on the first guess..." Seh said setting her down in a safe spot. "Catch your breath...." She started poking her ribs and checking to make sure nothing was broken.

The looming arm of the robot neared and just when she thought all hope was lost, a sandwave directed from Sasha pulled her away in time. making sure to stay above the rising sand she held her breath and was quickly pulled out my Sasha. "Like old times again," she said standing up and whiping away excess sand from her chest.
Teh moment was innterupted as another robot locked eyes on the pair of them. Not having an oppurtunity to move the two of them simply ran for cover prvided by Sasha. Victoria smiled weakly. I love having friends who save my life.

As one of the sentinel ripoffs approached Sasha and Victoria, it would have no doubt found difficulty in computing what happened next. In an instant, it seemed as though well over 100 feet of dirt had disappeared underneath it, causing it to topple into the mysterious hole. Within seconds, a silver streak had managed to dump several hundred buckets full of concrete into the hole, quickly covering the robot in a thick, dense rocky tomb. Sure, the robot would probably be able to destroy the cement... except that in its liquid form it quickly crept into the machine's circuitry, seizing up its hydraulic joints and essentially rendering the robot motionless. Even if it could break out of the pit, it now lacked the mobile capacity to do so.
Pietro emerged a moment later, dressed in a mining outfit he seemed to produce out of nowhere, and carrying a shovel. "BWAHAHA!" he shouted, enjoying this all way too much. "I haven't had an adrenaline rush in WAY too long!" he screamed before charging toward another robot.

Rachael had gotten back there just in time to see the Robot get buried. "WOOT!!! NICE HOLE PIETRO!!!" She called out to him. She looked over to see one of them looming overhead. eek She looked around and ran from it.
