Soujirou shot down, just like a missile. And he hit just like a missile as well. The ground that he had smashed into had literally shattered, and the debris flew around everywhere. The scorpions were, needless to say, gone. With the amount of force needed to generate this technique, Soujirou was pretty much moving around like a drunk man. Not because he was dizzy, but because he was tired.

He landed on the ground and almost passed out. Before he managed to though, he heard more of that scuttling that he was now starting to dislike immensely. And that meant that he couldn't sleep quite yet. Or else, he'd die of course.

So without much of a choice, he picked himself up so that he could continue fighting. "Uuuugh..." He groaned as he rubbed his aching head. He slowly unsheathed his zanpakuto...and fell against a wall.

"I'm alright! I'll just be here...leaning." He said as he struggled to regain his strength. "Wait..." He said to himself. "I can do this!" He realized that he could use the wall to his advantage. He leaned his back against the wall, and used his legs and feet to make a stable base to keep himself up. Now he could regain strength slowly, and still protect himself or kill scorpions. He thought of this just in time, too. As more scorpions approached...

As the horde closed in on Hitsugaya, a large blue wave of spiritual energy formed a wall between him and the oncoming scorpions. Far off, to the right, was a smiling Herieo. His right hand was positioned in its familiar gun-pose and the tip was radiating wispy blue smoke. Herieo was grinning, and holding the large great sword in his other hand. It was hanging down, pointed towards the ground, but he seemed to show no strain in keeping the thing in his hand. "That's enough~! Herieo's back from an unexplained absence, and he's ready to pull of some mad hero-savin' moves~! So sit back, and watch as I make up for lost time I really can't explain!" Giggling, the boy balled his free hand into a fist and blinked.. As his eyes reopened, fiery blue flames shot through his pupils. "HERIEO-A-GO-GO BABY!" With that single phrase, the boy took off in a wild sprint towards the re-growing horde, his large sword dragging behind and scraping the ground as he did so.. As he closed in on the front line group, he performed a heavy two-handed swing of the great sword. This caused the entire wave to falter horribly, crashed and smashed through so easily by the massive weapon. Oh yes. It was totally combat time. Things were so combat time right now.. Non-combat wasn't allowed to happen within the four mile vicinity of this specific area. It was that damn.. Combat-ey!

Herieo stood in a battle ready pose now, looking on to see the frontal line replaced by a.. Secondary frontal line..?! "What the heck!? This is blasphemy! I cannot stand here, while you guys replace and regrow your forces.. I must break through these waves, just as well as I did the other mere seconds ago!" The boy dynamically pointed his large sword at the scorpions, falling forward two feet, before starting a swift spin. The large weapon caused a large whipping noise as Herieo turned repeatedly, over and over and over again. He became a living whirlwind, debris from past attacks beginning to flutter back from around him. He spun for only ten seconds though, gaining enough momentum to throw the weapon.. And kill a single scorpion. His sword stuck, conveniently, into one single scorpion.. Whom exploded upon contact. Yep, he'd managed to make a scorpion explode by throwing a super heavy sword at it's body. It must have been so momentum-filled, it didn't even bother cleaving..?! Herieo stood shocked, and appalled at this sight. The others around this single scorpion were not even brushed by the immense force of his last attack. Growling slightly, he began to charge the still-oncoming horde.. In hopes of recovering his blade of course. And that's just what the boy had planned to do~! He suddenly unsheathed both o his Aikuchi from his Hakama belt, holding either upside down so that he may stab and move on through the horde he was to face in a few seco-

-onds! Yep, already. Herieo was now amidst the newest horde, stabbing and hacking. Hacking and stabbing. Anyone watching could grasp the concept of what he was doing right now.. Killing random monsters mindlessly in a dynamically awesome attempt to recover his beloved Bludgeon. "RAH, I'M COMIN', YOU BIG SWORD YOU!" Herieo always knew how to encourage himself! The fact that he was shouting could pump him up beyond what the laws of physics allowed. That was, of course, hypothetically speaking because the laws of physics didn't state anything about how happy and excited a teenage Substitute Shinigami could get while combating alchemy-made monsters. No, it said something about.. Physics..? Whatever! Herieo's thoughts were too clouded to even comprehend how to draw the capital 'P' that physics started with. He was too busy.. grabbing the great sword. His constant attacking had payed off, as usual, resulting in him reaching the area where the remains of an exploded scorpion monster lay. His blade was stuck in the ground, as usual, but deeper then usual this time. It wasn't much of a problem for Herieo though! After a seconds worth of examining the area on the ground where the blade entered the tile, he was able to kick and crack the entirety of the flooring in that smallish area. He, after that, was easily allowed to remove his blade and continue hacking with the larger weapon.

[Dammit. My post are becoming gibberish. XD]

Still excited beyond belief, the teenager found himself hopping above the crowd that decided to attempt a bombardment onto his body. He actually flew upwards, hopping on the air two or three times to gain leverage. Once he was fifteen feet above the ground, and the group, he decided to do another one of those 'Only Kill One, But It Looks Really Cool' things. This was, of course, a matter to be taken seriously but he was young and.. Really couldn't exist without having fun in whatever was going on. Plus, all of the really distinguished anime heroes had there moment of just going off on a newbie in some really awesome way.. Why couldn't he..?! "GEE-LOW-TEEN DRAW-PUH! (Guillotine Droppah')" Herieo shouted down at the crowd, closing his eyes before beginning to spin towards the floor like a big shinigami/human-sized drill. He, as planned, landed atop a single scorpion, resulting in an earth shattering defeat on its part. Herieo was now within a subtle cloud of debris, the tiling below the scorpion having been ripped up and cratered slightly. He took a moment to recover himself, having been shaken by his own brutal fall. He wasn't hurt, but his body was sort of in a state of 'shock' from so much force and pressure. Nothing slashing scorpions couldn't get over..

... Yep. He was right. He easily got over his little 'shocked' state by beginning to slash at the rest of the secondary frontal assault. There were several more, and he was only a third through the second!? How the heck were they ever gonna get this over with if the frontal assault had seven freakin' layers..? The answer was obvious, but the question was still large enough to be asked anyway. They would simply defeat.. THEM ALL! That was the solution, and at this point, it seemed to be the only one that was as fun as this one. "Rahh, fall down! Your just gonna be replaced seconds later, so just go down without a useless fight!" Herieo spoke in a slightly immature, and demanding term that made it seem as though he were stupid enough to take talking to these things seriously. They only answered by stabbing at him, and that resulted in a sliced off tail, or a smashed shell. To be truthful, Herieo had gotten so used to these things repetitive nature that he had no need to dodge. He could parry and stab before they fully completed there stabs, even in groups. It was a grown perk from wielding duel weapons; he could multitask pretty well! The fact he was ambidextrous helped a bit also . . .

Herieo, finally beginning to show signs of physical fatigue, suddenly fell victim to a group frontal strike. He was taken back when the stingers all worked in unison, slamming forward to meet the flat end of his larger weapon. Bludgeon was a good shield, because of its size. It's functions as a cleaver, hammer, and shield were all possible because of that one stand-out element; Size! Because of this, Herieo was capable of mashing around and crashing through hordes from long distances because of his length and barely risked any close range harm from such short and stature-less creatures. The ugly setback however was a big one.. Holding the thing for extended periods of time for him out like crazy once his limit was reached! It didn't exhaust spiritual energy, but it might as well should have been doing that too! "D-Dangit! I needa' get some'more stamina. It hasn't been very long since I started using Bludgeon again, but I'm already tired out.. I'll be poofed beyond belief if I don't stop in time and let my body rest.." As he contemplated his next actions, Herieo swung and swung to knock away the creatures. Only when his immediate area was free of pest did he lodge the large blade into the ground, vertically. At the same time he decided to let go of the hilt, his fist became engulfed in light blue energy. They slowly faded down to a more subtle appearance as Herieo grew a simplistic fighting pose.

His pose didn't stay so firm and stiff for very long, as the scorpions close din. Immediately, he found himself swerving downward into a crouched position to dodge a swift high-stab from a stinger. He replied to this one scorpions strike by delivering a straightforward jab to it's facial area. This slung it back a good five feet, crashing into several others as it twitched and then grew limp. The others merely scurried over its body to meet similar fates, his fist being deadly weapons when making contact with them. it was mainly the glow.. The oddly bright coloring that surrounded his limbs as they flew out to hit there targets. His blows were swift, but not weakened due to this. They were just as powerful as any other warriors.. Maybe a bit more 'enhanced' because of the fiery coating that shrouded them. The way his 'Heroic Effort' worked was quite a mysterious thing to decipher.. Herieo himself never payed attention to how it was conjure.d In fact, he didn't activate it by thought but by feeling. It was as if his personality alone determined if he was allowed to strike out and use it with supreme effectivity.

"HEROIC EFFORT!" His shout rang for the seventh time throughout the labyrinth hallways, a loud and abrasive on at that. His voice was slightly louder then usual and the aggressive streak that followed his call-out was much higher then average. The spiritual pressure that radiated from the boy was a personal one, with a dominant feel to it. It's nature wasn't so much changed, as much as it was temporarily shifted to another type. He found his body to be more in tact with what was going on.. In fact, he'd stopped the useless jabbering so he could focus on taking out more scorpions, with more efficiency, and much quicker then before. It was no wonder, in the last three minutes, he'd counted twenty straight that fell without even being allowed a chance to strike. He'd overcame there number game, and decided it was nothing but a small trial they used to put his head down. They didn't know, however, how sturdy his head was in all aspects of the word. He wasn't falling for the 'Give Up! Your Outnumbered!' bit. They were weak, and smashed like insects.. Even an army of insects could be crushed if the foot was slammed down hard enough, and with enough vigor.

Still going strong, Herieo could be seen knocking through the waves quicker then before. Some of the flashy tricks were replaced with simple yet extremely effective moves. Herieo even began to use his Heroic Effort on his legs to fuel his kicks. This opened a new array of combos and strikes for him to attempt! "Hyuh!" Herieo's loud grunt signaled a devastating axe kick that managed to crack the exterior shell of a single scorpion.. The heel of his foot was stuck in it's back, but he suddenly hopped upwards, spinning 180 degrees to throw the creature off of his foot and into the wall a good seven feet to the right of him. He landed smoothly, and smiled. For some reason, he could more spiritual energy emitted from his body. This was his first time actually being able to notice his own energy. Before he was oblivious, but in this case.. He felt sorta enlightened. He could feel the warmth of his energy, and the ever-so-subtle increase it was beginning to reveal.

"Rahh!!" Herieo seemed to be in a trance now, his eyes slanted a she performed a flying kick. Usually, this would be useless due to the scorpions size, but seconds before he started the attack he'd managed to vertically throw some of his life targets into the air. Showing off just slightly, he'd managed to line them up for this next shishkabobbing move. As Herieo flew, the aura consuming his leg ripped the scorpions in half and caused them to burst out.. There small feelers and legs went every which way, cracked shells falling to the ground below. Herieo landed lightly on his feet, reentering a stable fighting pose. The boy was huffing lightly, his shoulders rising up and down as he looked at more waves. He wasn't ready to stop just yet though.. No, he was doing this to give his buddy Hitsugaya a rest. He'd been doing a lotta' work alone and whatnot so he deserved this moment to regain his energy. Herieo wasn't gonna let his buddy down for any reason at all! They were in it together at all times!

Herieo soon noticed the crowds were dying, and the waves came in burst.. Then would stop. He'd be left to fight small groups, separate and spread out, but small nonetheless. They were beginning to recede, though some managed to overcome there small traces of fear and charged mindlessly towards the boy. He merely crushed them with a fist strike, or some other melee attack. He showed signs of fatigue with each movement, but his attacks were nothing close to mimicking this portrayal. Spiritual energy still managed to radiate from his attacks, in heavy doses that made things seem that much more easier to handle. He no longer was bombarded by crowds as large as before and could fathom working slower and at a much more suitable pace. He wasn't in a rush after all. His object was to hold the horde till Hitsugaya returned to a more capable fighting position. "Wonder how he's doin'.. I haven't spoke to'em in a while. I've been really distracted.. All I've done is fight, fight, fight. I can't even tell how much time has passed!" Sighing lightly, Herieo would shrug off the question and continue his steady assaults.
