"Well, I assume..." Tara began as she scraped the bacon onto a dish.

only to be interrupted by a harsh rap on the door. Tara closed her eyes for a moment before she said, "It's them, they have small ivory figures I gave them so I could sense them."

Tara used one hand to tied up her hair with a band as she motion for Chamberlain to answer the door.

Liz sniffed the air and said, "And I take it my mother is cooking? She always had a thing for french toast."

Zack smiled and said, "Yes, we came to talk about some people that came from here yesterday night riding in a car that originated from here. We tried to get some answers out of them about the current mountain situation that this town currently is under but although they pointed us in the direction of some answers, they thoroughly evades us in general."

Tara finished cooking and made her way to the table, her plates stack with enough foot that it was evident that she had planned for more than two people.

"So, do you have any idea what roles those clowns had in that brawl that brought down the sky scrapper? Because it seems no one does but them and they aren't talking," Liz said as she sat down at the same time Zack did.

"It seems to me that people haven't placed the giant floating mountain as high on their threat and to do lists as it should be around here," she continued as Tara and Chamberlain also sat.

Chamberlain placed two more plates and silverwear on the table. "And what have you done about it? Gathered information? That is exactly what they are doing. In their own way of course. Those two are a bit odd it's true but I respect them greatly. They have saved this city many times before against incredible odds. As for their contact with you, view it from their eyes. Two people who they have never seen before asking for sensitive information? You should be glad they even pointed you in the right direction." He smiled and leaned forward hand outstretched. "Where are my manners. I am David Chamberlain."

"I suppose you're right," Liz said with a slight huff. "Elizabeth Illias," Liz said as she shook his hand quickly. Zack could not reach Chamberlain's hand but gave him a nod as he said, "Zack Ryder, a pleasure."

"Elizabeth, do you remember the stories that told you about your father?" Tara said slowly.

"The few you've shared," Liz said. There was a slight hint of bitterness in her comment, but it was far outweighed by the sound of eagerness.

"Well, Chamberlain...he knew you father before I did it turns out, for quite a few years actually. With that Tara levitated the wooded picture frame from where it laid from the night before and let it sit in Liz's lap.

Liz stared at it for a moment before she said, "Get...out!" and repeated the statement once more. "What was he like?" She said quickly after that to Chamberlain.

Tara gave a small smile as she motioned for Zack to follow her away from the table. This conversation she knew needed to be alone.

Meanwhile In the Bowels of Purgatory Reaper worked diligently in his Supply Closet:

So damn hot in here! I can't believe the s**t I do for these people, he's not gonna like it, he doesn't like anything he never likes anything. His sister seriously buys his clothes? Reaper's mind raced as he applied the final touches to Danny's hopeful costume. He was filling its insides with Tri-weave Kevlar body armor. Its creases had all been lined with an unknown material. Reaper held up a magnifying eyepiece and stuck a pencil in his mouth. "Damn, I kinda wanna wear this. Its damn good craftsmanship." he peered at each stitch on it on by one, his eye for certain details was unmatched.

Beside Reaper was a table covered with powders, wires, strange mechanical devices and a strange ticking noise not coming from the clock that had died hours ago. The room gave a certain death trap quality that the rest of purgatory had lacked. Its walls laced with knives, body armor, grenades, heavy and small arms. If a large man and his partner in the dead of night could steal it, it was in there.

“Victor you glorious b*****d.” He laughed as he raised the top of the suit up to the lights. “If mine looked like this as a kid I might not have had to put up with so much s**t all the time from villains and rival a-holes.” He chuckled to himself his voice sounded like ground gravel pouring through a drain, well worst than usual. “ Time I get my self a drink at the bar. ********? What time is it?” He spotted the clock’s still face. And rushed to change in to a Victor Elliot morning suit. Pacing around in Purgatory he looked for more clothes sadly he did not keep Deputy Mayor outfits in his hide out. “That’s what I’m talking about we don’t have our s**t together!” He punched a pipe on one of the walls and spotted his overcoat. “Sweet, gotta get this b***h on a roll, this city doesn’t clean itself Victor!” He raced up the stairs his coat flapping showing his scared body in nothing but Batman boxers. His thoughts were only of getting some clothes on so he could get to the breakfast bar in the main lobby.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hotel Le Grande Upper levels:

“Damnit! The hot water went out again! How is a girl supposed to get clean if the hot water keeps going out!” Carol screamed in the bridal suite her hair still soapy. She threw on a hotel robe its smooth and expensive feel eased her mood. “ Laura…Laura I’m gonna get breakfast! Laura!…. You’ll get nothing then.” Laura slept fast through her troubles. Carol dunked her head into a sink of cold water to remove what little soap was left. She desperately tried to dry it as she exited the suite.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Le Grande Bar:

Soul sat still at the bar long pass last call savoring his drink, the bartender had tried to get them out before but has had several other thoughts on that query. Soul’s size was nothing to joke about he dwarfed the new guy behind the counter even seated upon his stool. He gazed down at him then out of one of the windows, he spotted a man in an all white suit. “Say Rick, you think we’re gonna stop that mountain from falling down on us? Have we ever really handled something of that size? I mean seriously it seems a bit large for a bunch of Regs. – No offense- to take down.” He sipped his booze and sighed, “Ol Vic doesn’t talk about things as much as he should so I don’t know anything about you man, I know as much as both of you let on. Just where did you come from kid?” Soul laughed looking over to his drinking buddy, “ How is it Vic was ok teaming up with a Meta? He hates powers.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The alley way across from Le Grande:

“King to the brothers three repeat conformation on location.” Christian spoke softly his words to his liaisons. “Confirm location of… The Agent of Death.” He rolled his eyes and sighed the code words they used were always to over dramatic.

“Affirmative King, location of Agent of Death and his pawns are the same. The Snow Queen’s path lead to a similar drop of area as the Agent of Death’s before we wore forced to eliminate tracking capabilities.” Ray replied into a small microphone on his lapel. The Three brothers had relocated themselves this time to a safe house Reggie had the courage to ask for a bigger office space from G.O.D. “ I have to warn you that when you enter you will be on your own King, and be advised The Agent of Death will recognize you. You will be giving away your secret identity to him. I offered you a mask.”

“Poppa bear if you ever place that sweaty gym sock next to my face again I’ll make you regret it. Poppa- oh for ******** sake guys I’m going in maintain radio silence and follow protocol.” Christian walked across the street from the alley and entered the Le Grande with his mission still ringing in his ears mostly because Ray wouldn’t stop repeating himself. He gritted his teeth and static was heard inside the safe house.

“I think he accidentally bit the tooth radio.” Ronnie rolled his chair to another station to confirm his assumption.

“Ronnie you idiot he crushed it because he hates hearing orders in his head being repeated like he’s a five year old…” Reggie glared at Ray.

"Ahhh a fellow fugitive! Beer is on the table! Make yourselves at home." Brendan replied and closed the door.

Zeke smiled unsure of the character he would now shack himself with. Wow, he let me inside quickly, I guess he must trust this woman more than I do... Hell she doesn't seem too pleasant to be around, well not this one. She's all rainbows and butterflies. I gotta find out where does this city stand on fugitive capture.

"So kind of you to let me in, I owe you one for letting me stay." Zeke paused and looked around. He walked to a window and peered out onto the block where they just were at," I'm new to Capital... and I gotta know, What's the hero pop. like in a big city like this?"

"Well...not sure why but there are just too much here. Mostly due to the super villians. So you could say that for every badguy we have a goodguy here. So I am guessing over 20. Including the neutral ones." Brendan said"Say if you ever need advice on where to hid and stuff in here, I'm your man! Been on the run for many years now."

"Twenty! No s**t?" he whistled as he looked towards the looming mountain's peak." So stuff like the mountain, that's normal in these parts?"
Sahsa shook her head. "Nah, that's still weird even by our standards. Why don't you get some rest. I know I am." she walked past the two and laid down on the couch falling fast asleep.

"Heh...if you want someone to spend the night with just bump into her and you get a clone of her. It's real usefull when you are feeling lonely and she has to go somewhere." Brendan said with a bit of a laugh but kept his voice down.

"She's right bout 2 things though. That s**t ain't normal here and you should get some rest. Cause I will too. The couch is huge so you can crash there if you like. I'll see ya in the morning if you are still here."

With that Brendan went to his own room to crash.
