Reccomendation: Utawaremono. One of the better fantasy anime to come out lately... and as of episode 7 there is nothing you could really call magic. As a matter of fact, other than some cinematic fighting, spirit tiger, and the fact that most of the characters have (subtly added) animal ears, tails, or wings, this could even be called realistic fantasy.

I suspect that as of next episode more magic might seep in, but I trust it will be dealt with well.

I was looking up that one a little while ago, looked pretty good, I'll go and get an episode or two to preview it.

I think we need to send most of Gaia here.
That's a very nice idea. rofl

It actually does say "grammar crisis room" in Japanese though. Makes me wonder what the room is really for...><;

Maybe it's something along "1984" when the Ministry of Love really tortures people to get them to assimilate to the public ideas, hence, eliminating free thought and creativity?

..what is ska? gonk

-Ska-

Wow, you're pretty knowledgable about music type stuff.

[/impressed]

Can't take all the credit. xp Got some of the info from Wiki, and a buncha skacore info from Stream, and some info from what I've discovered and interpreted from listening to the music. But yeah, music's one of my favourite subjects.

That is really awesome, and I also love Wikipedia (my friend in high school reports)!. Although I have never heard of the bands..but I live under rock... and maybe 3-4 years ago started peeking my head out to breath fresh air..

Are they really popular bands in ska? Japanese ska also sounds cool.. though I am unsure of the sounds... Did the Bosstones do "The Impression that I get?" Is that ska?

Yeah, ska bands are really freakin' awesome, any form of ska is just pure win. Some of the bands I mentioned might not be as popular to the skacore community, MU330, Skakin' Pickle, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Pot Shot, Mustard Plug. Those are a lot of third-wave ska bands I rarely see mentioned.

Japanese ska gets one of my highest recommendations, to start off, I'd suggest Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, seeing as how they really invented their own form of ska. For more of a third/second-wave ska taste, Pot Shot and Rude Bones.

And yeah, Mighty Mighty Bosstones did preform, The Impression That I Get, definately a great ska song and one of my favourites.

Zero, you should realize by now that there are two horrible ideas that make nuking your own house look like sticking a fork in that inviting wall socket...

One is dividing by zero...

The other is fueling the usually dormant yaoi machine in here with anything that may be siezed as evidence of another StreamjumperXwhatever pairing...

Lawl. Somebody's signature:

Quote:
i LOVE gaara-sama gaara wa kawaii desu!!!!!!!!

Who is gaara-sama? Is it a type of God? I think in Saiyuki they call Gods, "Kami sama?"

Gaara is a character in Naruto. I suppose they would call him Sama because now he's the Kazekage of Sand village...(Basically their head ninja). You are right about the whole Kami meaning God part, but the sama in this connotation is just an indicator for authority, much like you would address a teacher or elder.

Basically this signature is a mixture of fanboy japanese...I think what they were trying to say was that Gaara is cute. But they used the wrong particle, I think it would be Gaara no kawaii desu...at least my friend was explaining to me that most of the time when talking about someone else you use the 'no' particle. For example:

Anato no shumi wa nan desu ka? Means, what do you like to do? Or, what is your hobby?

Anyways, enough of my elementary japanese. I'm still learning from my friend. Once I get to santa cruz I'll be studying it more thoroughly, especially since my minor is going to be east asian relations. ^_^

わあ。にほんごをはなしますか。That's super awesome! You speak Japanese!! I guess, true, there are many ways to say things. When you add の, my Japanese class mentioned that it can mean "noun" of "noun", telling where location of something is, or to show possession (like you said, with to say "yours" or mine" 私の (watashi no)、 あなたの (anata no = your)、ともだちの (tomodachi no = friend's). ありがっとございます (thank you)。Your note on さまwas most helpful! I didn't know you could say せんせいさま (sensee-sama)。So you use it with high high authority then? Would you call the policeguy or gal -sama, too? Or the prime minister? If you ever want to practice, let me know! I am working on getting caught up with what I should have learned last semester, but got behind..

That's also super awesome you're going into East Asian relations! My double major with Mass Communications is East Asian Studies, but I had to create and present a plan to my University Committee.. they're going to start minors probably because of so many petitions.. but I'm excited! There really are people besides me interested in East Asian stuff (besides just anime)! Let me know if you want to chat about stuff. I've had an East Asian survey course on early China, modern China, and a class on gender in East Asia, so this is more of what I know and/or can help you with if you ever need help. biggrin

Yeah, it can get pretty hot in California. gonk You should feel the inside of a car, when I get a ride home from school with my friend, I go into his car and I literally begin to sweat when I get inside.

What do I mean for a change? The weather's always good when I'm working, since I work indoors.

Does the revolver come with the bushy villian mustache? biggrin

That! AND! Complimentary moose and squirrel.
Oh, Rocky and Bullwinkle! So many things I never understood... xd sweatdrop

I still don't understand that much, I need to go back and rewatch it. sweatdrop

I have this really hot (as in could easily be a model) coworker who has a Russian accent... I've already admitted to her that quite often when she says something, I subconsciously add "Moose and Squirrel" somewhere in it.

Also, everytime she says something about it being cold (which is fairly often since she's kinda skinny) I tack on "It is always cold in Siberia"...

Fortunately she finds all this funny as hell.

xd

Are you ever going to explain to her the references?

She knows em already... From what I understand, Rocky & Bullwinkle were fairly popular in parts of Europe.

You forgot Rip Slyme! scream rofl

RIP SLYME! scream xd

I downloaded one of their albums recently, good stuff.
Oooh! Which one? surprised

Time To Go, gave it a couple of listens, gonna give it another listen soon 'cause I've been jumping around Japanese music for the past couple of days. xp

You should go to Gendou's and snag anything from Honey & Clover. Its a little more mellow that the stuff I usually listen to, but I'll highly endorse any song even vaguely related to H&C just on the grounds that a lot of them were really moving.

*notes down for later today* Honey & Clover GET!

You are familiar with Gendou's, right? You can just download em individually right now.

......... Anyone got a gun? I wanna shoot this dumb customer in my mini-shop. stare
It amuses me to see this, as I was rather impressed by your patience with the individual in your shop. xd
She really kinda... pissed me off. sweatdrop Luckily, I'm able to fake polite pretty well.
whee I figured you were irritated, but I was just waiting for you to give her the boot. A job well done on being nice.
Do I get a gold star? surprised

What did the customer do? I remember some of working K-Mart, and now at my current job in the parking booth, and basically, I found it coming down to that many customers are lazy, do not like to read, and have high expecations (Kmart: that where ever products are placed, that is how much they are.. doesn't matter if anyone else moved them there or were lazy on accident and placed them back in the wrong spot.. so that was us cashiers' fault always).. did they blame you for stuff not your fault, too?

Don't ever work at a movie store... trust me.

Snag at least the first three or four. I say this because you'll be hooked after the first two and the second two will delay things enough for you to get at least 5 + 6 while watching them.

Ewruru is the cutest.
