Cody had spotted the employee. He watched her go, glaring the whole while. He made an irritated huff and released Dari's hand to pull him closer. The FBPI employed ignorant people just like any other job, apparently.
He took the board and marker from Toby, uncapped the pen and managed to write "THNX." He gave Lori a wave.

Dari smiled and thumped against Cody happily. He was all muscle under there. How odd! It was something he'd have to get used to.
"It's alright. Some people can't handle the non-human entities." He wasn't sure if that reaction had been to Cody or to him. Probably Cody. Or maybe to the pair of them?
Toby nodded and wiped his board with his arm, then scribbled something else.
'how do u feel?'
He'd never had a sireling before!

Cody huffed again, erased what was on his board and drew a sloppy looking heart towards Dari. It didn't matter what people thought. They were morons! He erased the heart after reading Toby's message.
'Hungry' was what he wrote. He struggled to keep the word straight, but it became crooked by the time he got to the g. 'Fine,' was added underneath. 'You?'

Toby turned his board over, drew a check mark, and showed it to Cody. How strange. The others weren't able to communicate while turned. They only tried to escape.
He nodded to Maia then. They'd known that Cody was going to turn, and so they had prepared food.
'Picnic?'
Because Dari had to work.

Cody gave Toby a thumbs up. He looked back towards Dari. Would he come with them? No, he had to work, didn't he?
Cody went over to Dari and pressed his snout against the alien'a head. A kiss!
Maia came over with a basket. "Come on, Cody. We'll show you where we can picnic under the stars." And still be safely inside! She offered Toby the basket and looped her arm around his.

Dari just smiled and nodded. He could see all the way around his head again, after all! "Have fun, Love." The kiss was odd, but nice.
Toby nodded for Cody to follow. It was up to Maia this time to describe what they were seeing and where they were going beyond what Cody already knew.

Maia looked back to Cody. "There's invisible walls," she began. She led the two werewolves further. "We're not really outside, and no one can see us. You probably won't be able to use your board in the dark," she added. At least, not to talk to her. He and Toby both could see perfectly in the dark!

Toby reached up and bopped Maia on the head with his board. It was an affectionate gesture, considering the lack of lips and proper vocal cords.
When they reached the yard, he howled. Just because.

Maia grinned and looked up at Toby. Once in the yard, she paused as Toby howled and shook her head at him. Goof. She spread out a blanket over the picnic table.
Cody snorted at Toby in amusement. He watched Maia set out food and paused.

Toby eyed the picnic table's bench with apprehension. Err...
He tried to get a leg over it. Nope. What if he perched on the...? No. He huffed and sat down with his back to the table.

Maybe the table had been a bad idea, Maia reflected. She sat beside Toby and took his hand apologetically. She released it to offer him a plate of cookies. "Sorry, love," she said.
Cody sat on the ground in front of the two, instead of attempting to sit on the bench. Maia offered him a plate of cookies, too.

Toby was still able to eat with his paw-hands, as Cody should be able to. Cookies were a common full moon snack for whatever reason. Toby certainly wasn't complaining.

Cookies? Cody looked to Maia in thanks and took a cookie. He finished it in one bite, and took another.
Maia slid a plate of summer sausage towards Toby.

It wasn't all that often when a whole clan or tribe needed to be relocated. It happened, of course, but not as commonly as a single person or a small family. When it did happen, though, it was a pretty big deal. There were only so many protected places, and then how many of them were the proper biome?
Toby started the beacon up, summoning Reese. At least he hoped the Guardian would answer. He'd have to try again later if not, and again, and again...

Reese answered almost immediately, but his expression was harassed. In the background, a toddler was humming.
"Hey, Werewolf! Did you call to distract her?" He asked, hopefully.
