Norton is as good as a virus. D:
Or at least it was. Supposedly they've really cleaned up their act.

Mickey2146 Dun worry Peo, I still have XP on one of my computer and I really don't like it. Every (yes, EVERY) internet browser will crash when I'm trying to get on zOMG or play bootygrab (even with Dolphinmania). I try not to use it, but it's also the only computer I have that has Photoshop on it. D: Val;; I'm sorry, but I don't speak computer. D: I love XP, it's never crashed on me once. In fact the only reason I've had issues with an XP computer is that time I somehow managed to fry my motherboard (like I actually melted it xD). I've had XP since it came out and not a single problem. Now Vista... everyone I know who has it says it's a POS and breaks a lot. But then that's just what I've heard from others

Valheita Misa Catailia Valheita Misa Catailia Insanity is sweet...
The only reason I use vista is because I dont even know if its possible to get XP on a computermthat comes with vista O.o But vistas crap. JS. (My XP computer lasted 5 more years than any vista I've had. And it still works o 3o )
...Embrace it. Oh yes, you can back install provided that you can find a copy of XP for sale. And Vista is not crap. I've yet to have my Vista machine die (other than hardware faults) and it's.. Probably 3 years old now. Insanity is sweet...
My vistas have all died at 2, right after the warranty expires for some reason crying I've had this XP since when XP came out and it still works fine.
...Embrace it. My XP used to blue screen repeatedly. It was the most horrifically unstable POS evar D: @Rayne: Defective, probably not. More like a faulty install/configuration. Where'd you get it from? •·.·´¯`·.·• ♪ ♫ ♬ ♫ ♪ •·.·´¯`·.·•´ I got it from Circuit City, which went out of business because of Best Buy :c Mickey - rofl That sounds like Norton, alright. Mine when I had it on the old computer (just for the trial, since we forgot to get a virus protector for my old computer) couldn't UNinstall itself because it couldn't detect itself... xD ----------------------------------

I don't particularly like it when I have to use it (on my sister or bf's laptops) but I've put that down mainly to not having a clue about navigation etc since I'm not used to it.

@Misa: It's first equal in terms of effectiveness benchmarks with NOD32. It's better at catching known threats, but NOD is faster at catching new ones.
@Rayne: Hmm. Wouldn't know their track record >.<;
As for Norton - the older versions you had to download a special uninstaller anyway. The shipped uninstaller left traces of it in the system, like spyware.
@peoplers: It's a big change since XP. I know I still am not entirely used to the Start Menu.

MacOS confuses me greatly. D:
Everyone says Linux is confusing, but at least theirs is logical (for GNOME at least).
The Programs are in the Programs menu. The files are in the Files menu, and the System menu will shut the computer down. >.>;;

@ Val, yeh I noticed. It looks nicer though. I like the little side bar with the time and things on it and how you can flick through things you have open easier, I just don't know how to do it XD
and since I don't use it very often I'm pretty weary of it. And when I do use it it's only to use the net, since the browsers are the same as what I'm using on XP I'm fine

Misa Catailia @Val; I under stood half of that O.o Is that good or bad? Basically... NOD will catch new viruses more reliably. So if there's one which isn't known/documented, NOD is more likely to catch it. If it's well known/documented, Norton will catch it with a greater chance. peoplers @ Val, yeh I noticed. It looks nicer though. I like the little side bar with the time and things on it and how you can flick through things you have open easier, I just don't know how to do it XD and since I don't use it very often I'm pretty weary of it. And when I do use it it's only to use the net, since the browsers are the same as what I'm using on XP I'm fine Flip 3D? I can never remember the command either xd I don't use the side bar myself.. Nothing that useful on it.

@ Val, I like it cause I think it looks nice and my sister has her's set to tell the weather, which is very useful here since it can change at the drop of a hat for no reason what so ever. Bright sunshine and then SNOW!
