In that case, the battle's probably nearly over. Thanks to the three-day time limit for posting, each character is required to make at least ten posts per month, and their stamina is finite.

Binatica and their stamina is finite. I can reasonably see numerous pairs of combatants whose Stamina is NOT... Finite. [Or, at the very least, their Stamina's 'Finite' point is... Quite a ways off, if you catch my drift.] Another possibility is that a personal grudge betweent combatants holds either one of them from backing down like a reasonable person would.

That's not going to happen. Assuming it's a fight between mages, it will escalate and both will cast larger and larger spells.
