He stood his ground as she charged, at the exact moment she had jumped he had bent himself to come up with a rising arc slash. When he brought up the sword it collided with her staff...

She winced, holding her staff with both hands, catching the blade near the center of her staff. She could feel the staff cracking .. if he pressed the force down more, it would break and becuse of this, she hesitated.

Being this close to the blade she could very very faintly hear a suction sound. He yanked the blade out from the staff, he once again set up in his defensive position. The next move was her's on whether or not she would like to continue and risk her weapon.

She looked at him with great curiosity, tilting her head. Again she advanced, letting her staff come down on him once more, aiming for his arm.

He braced his arm for the attack, using it more as a distract as he came around with his fist from the other way, aiming for that pretty little face of her's

She came down on his arm like she intended to though it was not enough, she did not have time to dodge the punch but she did have time to brace and anticipate the force. Jumping back a bit as his fist made contact, she went flying backwards, rolling once before getting to her feet again. That stung, for sure, but she was far from finished yet. Again she advanced, sweeping upward in the hopeful anticipation that he would move forward also.

Her staff had left his arm stinging, he switched hands so that now he was fighting right handed. He spin the blade in his hand before advancing, by the time he saw her coming up with his staff he barely had enough time to try and stop and bend back to try and avoid it.

She saw his movement and, taking a step forward, brought the staff back down again. Given their close range, again, it should be easy for her to strike his shoulder or perhaps chest, given their close proximity.

She struck his shoulder, almost causing him to drop his sword. As soon as it made contact though he attempted grabbing the staff with his left hand. From there he was going to throw up his right arm and he would either A) Break the staff at it's weakpoint or B) The staff would try to be ripped from her grasp. It all depended if the staff's integrity would fail.

She virtually had a death grip on the staff. With the damage from before, it cracked in half from their combined strength pulling in opposite directions. Still holding on to the separate pieces, she looked to him with a questioning expression, wondering if they were meant to continue fighting or if this meant he won. With her staff in two pieces, she would not be able to fight as effectively. Without magic, she was unable to summon more weapons, she should have picked her elbow blades first. Though she knew she had other options, she did not believe it would be appropriate for now.

The result was as expected with the staff. He stood there for a moment before extending the broken half of the staff back to her. He stuck his sword in the ground for a moment as he retrieved his shade and covered up his eyes again. This was nothing more than a test, one that he had enjoyed and was not disappointed by his opponent, though it was unfortunate the Winds were useless at the moment. He took his sword back up and slung it in loosely by his waist again. This was a draw in his mind.

She looked from him to the pieces of her staff and back to him, watching his next movements carefully. Bobbing her head a bit, she looked cheerful and nervous, moving her hands around behind her, as if she was hiding the pieces of her staff out of embarrassment. "Thank you." she said softly, blushing, bowing her head slightly, feeling incredibly shy.
