Predictably, Cody was distracted as he looked around. His eyes were wide. Colors were darker, but the dark usually hindered his eyesight quite a bit.
"Is every night going to be like this?" He asked. "I can see forever!"

"Yes," he said, "Toby tells me it's constant."

"Really?" Cody marveled. "It's like daylight. We should come up here more often, in the summer." Eventually the flowers would die up on the mountain and it'd be less beautiful. And it'd get too cool to camp.

"Sure, if you want to," Dari agreed. He only knew what it was like to see well all of the time. Apparently the change for Cody was as drastic as he'd imagined. That was good! Cody needed some goodness with the drama of the transformation.

Dari tilted his head as he thought.
"Your senses will be stronger, your metabolism faster, muscle will build, you can't be killed save for a silver infusion so you'll heal quickly. Visibly quickly. So long as the bloodlust isn't bad that should be about it. Toby can still pass for human on every day except the full moon."

Cody considered Dari's words. "I knew about the metabolism, I've never eaten as much as I did today." He grinned at Dari. "Hopefully it'll stop being so bad. Otherwise you'll have to get used to being taller." He really hoped bloodlust wasn't an issue... "Will you stay with me, on the full moon?"

"It will," Dari assured him, and then nodded. "Well. The first night they'll want to check for bloodlust, and I'm the person in charge during Toby's transformation. So at first you might have to be with Maia or Toby, but once they prove you aren't after anyone they'll let you come back up."

Cody looked worried. He paused and looked away from Dari briefly. "I don't want to do this without you," he said. He was worried about transforming. He was worried--what if he was in that small percentage that lost control?

"I know," Dari said. Maybe they should have gone over the first-transformation thing with Cody first. "I have to stay on alert, but the rest of us will be around to keep you company. Anyone you want will stay, I'm sure. They'll put you in a room, and someone will come in once you've turned, and when you don't attack them they'll release you and let you come back up to me. Toby and Maia usually go off on their own, but the first time I'm sure they'll keep us company."

For a moment, Cody looked like he was going to argue. He seemed to think better of it, and nodded. "I won't attack anyone. Lori said some do, but I've got all of you guys."

"It's all theories anyway," Dari said. "It'll be a little bit before we can test them, but I'm sure you'll be fine. You turned willingly, and you were turned by family. It has to make a difference."

"It'll be an all-new world for you," Dari said. "As long as you're open to it, it'll be fun." The HQ would want more info on him, of course, but that'd come with time. He was very special, his love.

"I'll try," Cody said, and looked to study Dari. "I have you along for the ride, don't I?" He smiled then. "We can walk through the flowers tonight," he offered.
