I don't want to say anything in the thread because it'd be supremely rude, but he's talking about identifying with Bart's mother issues because his mother abandoned him.
Yet, from what I recall, Bart missed his mom but knew that she sent him back in time to SAVE HIS LIFE. And they still talked quite regularly when she was time hopping.
This is not exactly abandoning.
