*Melli rubs her chin thoughtfully, tracing her fingertips down along the side and then poking at the tires*
*she pauses, casting a glance toward Cross* He gave up rather quickly. *she lets out a melodramatic sigh, smirking* I must not be nearly as alluring as I thought I was.
*and she resumes her inspection of the car* So, how does it work?

*Cross gives a glance over his shoulder at the sigh and raises an eyebrow. oho... she was one like that and everything about her read trouble... this was the kind of woman Cross had warned Mr. Lucas against but as for himself? he liked troble.. he leans back in his chair and listens in... curious to this new comer.. and also to bard's explanation of the metal carriage as well. at "Future magic" Cross gives a chuckle* ... intreresting..

Janani wants to talk to Cora, but she knows it can't be right now. Mystina said she was so kind. Yet...Janani hasn't had much time to really get to know this woman. Now...she's spying. She must have a good reason.

*Mel lifts an eyebrow* Liar. *she smirks back* You're no mage. *she rises to continue her circuit of the car*

:::Cora herself smirks...future magic. it was just a product of technological advancement during the industrial revolution of the late 1800's...though naturally it was a later model... She sat silently, enjoying listening to Bard and Cross. The familiar voices did good for her heart:::

*Bard laughs* Do you know a lot of mages back in the fifteenth century, then?

*Cross turns a bit* Fitfteenth.. *that would explain the agge of her dress... though she certainly did wear it well... though what was this on mages he wondered... thinking back to some of the stories he'd red on such things... tho Captain Stuart had always said it was likely just church borne propeanda... but then he also said that nothing was ever for certain... so Cross listens in, intently*

Janani glances to Cora again and again. She doesn't know what she wants to talk about or say, but she knows she wants to talk.

I do believe I shall! *she pokes her head in eagerly, then starts to climb in the rest of the way, though her heavy skirts prove to be something of a problem* Argh . . . blasted dress! *she gathers the cloth up in one hand to keep it as much out of her way as she can, using her free hand to start fiddling with the various knobs and whatnot* How intriguing . . . .

*Cross peers behind him, also fancying a look tho his view is obscured by melliandra's form... the Gentleman in hi told him not to leer.. but the pirate in him can't resist and he could always blame it on looking at the car's interior.. abruptly he loooks a bit too intently, and his chair tips all the way backwards with a crash, sending cross rolling towards the vehicle.. he rolls into an unsteady crouch and puts his hands out to gain his balence befor standing and swagering over to the open door of the car* right.. *he says without missing a beat* what's this then?

*Bard lets himself in the passenger-side door. He slides into the seat pointing out the various parts of the dashboard*
This is the steering wheel. it turns the front wheels, allowing the car to move left or right. The pedals are the gas and the break... the gas pedal provides more fuel to the engine.. like stoking a fire. the more fuel, the faster it goes. the break pedal applies friction to the tires to slow the car down.. have I lost you yet?

*Mel lifts an eyebrow at Cross, and then winks, unable to resist teasing him a bit*
*but she turns back to Bard for his tutorial, following along with an expression of combined interest and amusment* No no, dear boy, I'm much harder to lose than that. Much to the disappointment of some. Pray, continue.
