Dari shrugged. "I get bigger by the same amount I eat. That won't ever change, even if it's nourishment and not waste. It's less obvious in a human form, I guess. You can put it in your fingers and things.

Cody looked curious. "Can we find out?" He asked. "Just...don't do that thing in front of me," he said, and took a bite of his pizza.

"I usually do it at home," Dari said. "We didn't measure me first, though. I haven't done 'that yucky thing' in a while so I might already be bigger."

Dari got up and disappeared into the bathroom for a moment. His weight read a bit high, but it always did. He was technically a fluid, after all. Then he came back, related the number to Cody, and sat back down beside him before cutting another piece of pizza.

After the pizzas were gone and movies had been watched (or ignored while they cuddled), Cody had pulled his tent out and packed it into Dari's car. He took two sleeping bags out of the closet and packed them in too. "We need pillows, Dari, can you get them?"

Dari went back inside to retrieve pillows with only a little nod. Pillows were definitely more comfortable than the ground in human form, but slime-bags didn't really need comfort. He came back out and peered toward the horizon. It'd be getting dark soon. Cody might be too distracted to drive.
"I'll drive, okay?"

Oh. Right. Breakfast. Dari forgot about things like that sometimes when his schedule changed. He flipped his keys around his finger.
"You can drive back tomorrow?" He knew that his car was desirable. People said that all the time.

"Sounds good!" Cody agreed, and began making sandwiches. Peanut butter and jelly. "What's night vision like?" He asked.

"You'll see!" Dari said. Already Cody was hearing better than he had. Dari knew, because he wasn't speaking so loudly. Would Cody notice? He smiled to himself. He'd notice the night-vision. "That's why I'm driving!"

Cody finished packing and went over to Dari. He kissed his cheek. "As long as it's not infrared creepy status," he said. "Ready to go, love?"

"No, I don't think it's like that," he assured Cody. He couldn't know for absolute sure, but Toby handled the question like the change had just been in keenness, not the actual type of seeing. "I am." He hopped into the car and began for their mountain.
Halfway there, the sun had set, and all was becoming dark.
