Dari took his last bite of pancake and took the gummy.
"Stop it. You're very handsome. Plus your hair. Ladies love it." He imagined that ladies were about as risky as men to their relationship, which was to say not at all.
"There's flower candies. I don't know what to think about that."

"Hm," was all Cody said, looking thoughtful. "I love you," he said, and smiled. Flower candies? He looked intrigued. He looked for the packet and opened it. "Let's try it together," he suggested.

"I love you too," Dari said. He opened the flower candies and sniffed one. They definitely smelled floral. He unwrapped it and poised to pop it in his mouth, but waited for Cody. "Can you smell them?"

Cody paused. "They're actually flowers?" He asked. They certainly smelled like it! "I don't know which, though..." Oh well. He popped it into his mouth.

"Probably," Dari said. "I don't think they taste any different?" Maybe they did. They had different flowers on them. He popped his in his mouth at the same time that Cody did and he made a bit of a face. Floral indeed!
"It's not so bad..." Could be worse!

"Not so bad?" Cody gagged. He forced himself to swallow and made one hell of a face. "Blegh!" He immediately reached for another bean paste bun, opened it and took a bite.

"Getting rid of the taste?" Dari asked. He laughed and continued to roll the candy around in his mouth. It wasn't so bad! He definitely wasn't going to swallow it, though! Throats were weird.

"Yes," Cody admitted. "Love, don't eat that," he added. Wait. An alien probably wouldn't get stomach sick over something gross. "You've eaten ceramic, nevermind," he grinned, took another bite of his pastry, and looked towards the front door.

"I've eaten a lot of things. Most of them not with taste, though. They got worried when I ate through the steel table." He followed Cody's gaze, laughed slightly, and turned back to Cody. "You're really that ready for pizza?"

Cody kissed Dari's cheek. "I like taking you shopping and having you try new things with me," he said.
"I'm starving," he confessed then, and grinned. "Pizza is the best!"

Dari smiled. He liked it too!
It was another three minutes of snacking before the pizza came. The delivery guy didn't seem to be passing judgement, not that Dari would have cared. He paid the man and came back inside. "Alright, love. Here you go."

"I'm not going to eat all three," Cody said, and grinned at Dari. He stood from the couch and headed for the kitchen. He returned with two plates and a pizza cutter. "Celebrate with me."

"You sounded like you planned to!" Dari said with a laugh. He leaned over to kiss Cody's cheekbone and pointed. "I want Hawaiian." The flavors were so interesting!

"I'm sharing with you!" Cody grinned, offering Dari the pizza cutter. He set the plates on the coffee table. He tore a piece of pizza off the pepperoni and took a bite.
