XanatosGray LQ XanatosGray Jerome shook his head, regaining his bearings. "No, it's quite alright, Sol. Just caught me by surprise, is all. I wasn't really expecting that..." He coughed gently and stood, gathering the cloth and all the little bits of ceramic with it. The incubus' voice was still soft as he spoke. "It is still no excuse. That was an appalling lack of manners and control on my part. You needn't worry though. Soon my brother and I will continue our quest or if not than, then we will find another source of sustenance." He picked up a few shards the priest missed and carried them to be thrown away. "I will replace the cup." "Don't worry about the cup," Jerome said, looking at Sol, finally understanding what he meant when he said he was hungry. "Was that all it was then? You were just hungry?" He kept his voice even and level, though any decent empath would be able to tell that he was feeling disappointed. Sol, fortunately (or unfortunately), was a decent empath thanks to his work and easily picked up on waht jerome was feeling. However, it only served to confuse him further. "I...partly..." clearing his throat he gathered the remains of his vaunted self control over himself and stared calmly at Jerome. "I mean yes. Yes it is." Sure he was blatantly lying, well not quite blatantly, ok yes, blatantly lying. There was no other choice though, or so he told himself. He had to dissabuse Jerome of any notion that they could be anything more than casual aquaintances, even though that thought was causing a strange feeling in his chest. Regret? Bah, no, he had NO regrets. Bloody liar you are. Inwardly he hissed at his conscience and told it to go shove off and leave him be, but, like any good conscience, it gave him the finger and promptly set up residence on his shoulder where it could constantly niggle him.

Jerome, having had a great deal with people lying to him, merely raised his eyebrow at the very obvious statement. "I see. I'll have to keep that in mind," he said, looking very nearly sad, "You'll be leaving tonight most likely, then?" he asked, returning to his chair.

"Most likely. No one knows we are here, so it is likely they don't realize we have gone this way. It should be safe to move around now. And we have to find our mother's trail before it grows cold." There was the barest hint of desperation in Sol's voice and eyes as he said this.

He took another sip of his tea, but it only helped him feel a little better.

Saiki stood slightly behind Aki, not really wanting to try and bother Rio. He stared down at a mushroom by his foot, apparently very interested in the catterpiller crawing accross it.

The look of dissapointment that crossed his face when he remembered what happened to it was best described as comical, some might even say adorable (if they wanted to die a slow painful death). Sighing, he rose to refill the tea kettle and get himself another cup.

What felt like ice cold fingers crept along Saiki's mind as the same evil, insane voice that contacted Jerome whispered into it. A wise choice to stay away. You show some semblance of a brain. Too bad it won't save you. As quickly as the voice came it left, leaving a lingering sensation of cold and evil.

Saiki blinked and looked up at Rio, wondering if he had been the one to talk, but at the same time knowing that he had not and that Saiki had been the only one to hear the voice. He wondered what his brain wouldn't save him from. Although Sol and Rio could be dangerous, he doubted that either would attack him without good reason and he wasn't going to give either of them a reason. He sighed and looked back at the catterpiller.

Ceres_3LD LQ Ceres_3LD LQ Rio remained sitting cross legged on the tree branch, and almost serene look on his face. He gave no indication that he heard Aki or if he himself was even alive Aki looked to him, a little worried. He expected to get his head bitten off at the least, not this. He placed a gentle hand on Rio's shoulder. "Hey, you in there?" His skin was so cold it burned to the touch; it was like Aki was touching a block of dry ice. Still, a serene expression graced the incubi's face as he continued doing his statue impression. Aki drew away quickly. Then, brushing Rio's hair from his forehead, put the back of his hand there. "Really now. I'm sorry for offending you earlier. Don't just ignore me. Are you alright?" He drew away again, feeling how cold he was, and getting worried now. Rios forehead was even colder than the rest of his body and he continued to sit not moving, not blinking, and if not for miniscule rising and falling of his chest it would seem he wasn't even breathing. Once more that sinister voice made itself known, this time choosing Aki as it's target. One chance to live kitsune. Take it and leave. NOW. There was a giggle in his mind, sweet and almost childlike, exactly opposite of the voice. Or stay and suffer the same as Carrillo and Solitaire.

It was Rio's, remember?" The kettle filled, he looked around breifly to make sure no one was around and mouthed a word, the water boiling hot in an instant and once more the heavenly smell of freshly brewing tea filled the room.

Ceres_3LD "Hey, Rio. C'mon. Snap out of it." He shook him a bit, choosing to ignore the threatening words. "Your scaring me..." He whimpered. Too fast for the eye to catch Rio's arm shot out. Razor sharp claws pierced Aki's throat as his hand closed around it in a punishing grip. In slow motion his head turned, revealing a pair of wide open green eyes as empty and lifeless as those of a doll. Moving with stiff, jerky movements, almost like a marionette, Rio moved to the furthest parrt of the branch that would support his weight, still holding aki in that punishing, unbreakable grip. His hand tightened, completely cutting off the Kitsune's air supply and coming dangerously close to severing his jugular. (...better late than never yeah? x_x Sorry. Just been kinda...eh. SO not in the mood to RP here. Work stress plus issues with friends and family. And Xan has been getting s**t beat by school. Things are smoothed out now thankfully. Lets see hw long they stay that way)
