The lioness went into a very dignifyed pose and smiled down for a brief moment at the little cub that was so important to her plans before her face went very stern and serious once more. She spread her midnight wings and lept very lightly into the air, catching the wind and melting into it, disappearing much as she appeared.
The tiny cub looked at the other blankly, still confused, but feeling rather light and important. She wondered if Montsho knew this strange lioness. She stepped timidly forward and looked about, "sh-she gone?"

Kota stared after the lioness as she disappeared, still thinking of what she had wanted him to do. Only the cubs words broke him from the almost-trance. He looked back down at her, gazing at her purple eyes silently for a moment. "Yeah, I think so..." Who was this cub? And what was her importance to the future? Would he ever find out? For the moment anyway, it would seem that he would be at least in some way responsible for her...

Mwenzangu swirled around, abandoning is play with the Zebra, his nose bleeding. Ignoring the blood, the huge lion roared fiercly back at the small cub, annoyed that something could stop him from his play. Abandoning the zebra, he padded his way towards the cub, the red in his eyes glistening life fresh blood. He stopped just about 2 feet from the cub, and lowered himself to match the cub's gaze. "Surviving off of fish is a sickly way of living. You ever try to feed a grown lion off of just fish?!" Normally he wasn't this mean, but this little one needed to learn to stay out of business of his elders, no matter if he knew them or not.

Maji was trembeling, terrified of this adult. It had been the first lion he had seen to be larger than himself. He'd seen leopards... they were nothing compared to this giant.... dispite his heart telling him that what he was doing was quite possibly the right thing, his mind was telling him that what he was doing was increadibly stupid and very potentially suicidal. He took a slow step back, his tail curling inbetween his legs. He'd never fought before- if the male attacked he wasn't sure what he would do. He could run and climb but he was sure this lion could do the very same thing.
"You can learn... I can teach you if you wish but leave the mere a-a-alone... please?" He was trying to mask the fear in his words but it was nearly impossible, he was terrified of this creature.

((Sorry for the REALLY late responce))
"Ish-should tell Montsho a-about her...she is st-strange..." she stared blankly forward, vaguely in the direction of Kota. She walked forward by him and kept walking, her steps careful to not dishevel the happenings in the trees about her and the river beside her. She walked slowly enough to ensure if he wanted to walk as well he could keep up. Her mind did not dwell on "importance" but merely on how interesting the lioness had been, how easily she moved and how Montsho may have even been envious of her ability to hunt.

Low rumblings coming out of his black maw, Zangu snapped at the air before sitting down on his big rump, his tail flicking wildly behind him. He meant to scare the kid, but not this badly. "Fish just isn't my diet choice. It's not filling. There aren't enough fish to feet me." He grunted, thinking his answer justified his hunt that went awry. His red eyes scanned the strange looking cub, just noticing what he was truly dealing with now. Strange markings...his were too, but...still...

((Don't worry about it. ^-^))
Kota tilted his head slightly and watched her quietly as she muttered, wondering who or what this Montsho could be. It was as if she didn't even notice him. She started walking, and so he followed, curious. He padded just behind her, tail flicking from side to side. "Where're we going?" He asked as he followed. He had a vague feeling that he had forgotten something... but any thoughts about his unfinished lunch had all disappeared. ((Hehe... silly Kota... xp ))

"I'm sure you can survive off of the fish here..." He took another slow step back, trying to mask his fear. This creature was massive... it had teeth nearly the size of one of Maji's front limbs, his claws were hooked and would certainly do a cub in a matter of moments, "I can show you... there is a place with fish larger than I. They swim deep so you have to lure them to the surface."

'Kela was stuck - literally and mentally. The young male had dashed off down the slippery rocks like a gazelle, her precarious perch left behind. She saw eventually the reason for his departure, anddebated going to follow him; but as the big cub squinted down the falls to pick out a way down, the world swam slightly before her eyes and she edged backwards. There was no going down without a guide, she decided.
So it was either wait there - or go onwards. Kinyamkela was not a patient female. "Onwards and upwards, 'Kela," she said out loud, claws spread wide on the damp stone as she began to pick her way further up the falls. Determination and pride kept her on course, and she subconsciously followed a path taken by many lions before her as she finally scrabbled up to the top and stood panting in front of the slim entrance to a dark crevasse in the rock.
She took a few paces along the side of the river, uncertain whether to proceed or not. After all, this was Maji's territory - she could smell his scent all around the clearing. Feeling a little apprehensive and intrepid, she slowly made her way towards the cave mouth.

((3 day late RP post!))
Layla's sure-footed, yet gentle, steps brought her to the edge of the thick trees before she had truely obsorbed Kota's question.
"Tree house," her foot steps increased in speed and she made few slip ups, occassionally loosing footing but finding it again as she moved between the trees, remembering the lessons of the predators that hid in the trees waiting for young gullible cubs. She could be followed, her small mistakes slowed her enough to be caught up with.

Kota followed as he waited for her answer. And she took a while before she gave it. Which, surely added to the effect that it had when she finally told him. A... tree house...? His ears twitched, as if trying to make sure that he had heard her correctly. Lions don't climb trees! Unless... this one did... but... no, they just don't! He doubted whether it was even possible for a lion to climb a tree. She seemd to slip and loose her footing while she moved. But still he padded on, weaving through the trees after her.

When she arrived at the treehouse after only a few moments of travel, she examined the trunk for a second and sniffed it. Montsho was home, she turned around and smiled a little at him.
"Do you climb," she turned back as she waited for the answer, flexing her claws and jumping to stand on her hind legs as she placed them securely in the trunk.

As they stopped in front of the tree, Kota could smell the scent of another animal. He couldn't tell what it was, but it seemed to be sitting in the tree above them.
His eyes widened as he heard her question. "Me? Of course I don't climb. Lions don't climb trees! Unless... you're telling me that you do...?" He watched as she flexed her claws. This is turning out to be a really odd day... and he still wasn't sure that it was a good thing.

She knew that most lions did not climb, it had taken her some time now to learn and it still wasn't exactly second nature. She stared at him for a moment before seeming to decide on something.
"Oh...w-well then, I only be a minute, okay," without waiting for a responce she began to move carefully up the tree, tightly hugging the tree with claws planted deeply with each step. She disappeared after a moment beneath overhanging foliage.
When she reached the fork in the tree she made eye contact with Montsho who'd been awakened by her loud climbing. She eyed the lioness critically and sighed a bit.
"Your climbing is still clumsy...and you've carried company," her voice was barely audible to those below, but was low and nearly a growl.
The young cub nodded and began heading down the tree, "we saw something..."

He found it the slightest bit amusing that she was almost surprised when she heard that he couldn't climb. ((Wow! Only the most awkward sentence ever!)) But he watched as she scaled the side of the tree, amazement and curiousity in his blue eyes. Well this certainly wasn't something you see everyday. A lion climbing a tree. She soon disappeared into the leaves and left him there waiting. Taking his eyes off the treetops, he glanced around. This wasn't a part of the land that he knew well, and that in itself made him a bit nervous.
