"No," Jordan hissed, his words slurring a little as he spoke. "He doesn't want me around. I'm not letting you take away what I have left. I'll take them out. I'll fight them. I'll fight you. Get away." Ferros roared in his head, but the sound was distant, muffled, unimportant; Jordan stalked Ro, delicately sidestepping the wreckage of the benches he'd sent Ro flying through.

He'd make him see. Ro wasn't enough like him. Ro was a threat, a threat just like the zombies, a threat to be neutralized. He'd fix it. The hammer came down again.

"I don't want you to run off," Noah answered, his tone edging into pleading. "I want to help, I want to help heal you." Al was scrubbing at the wetness and ooze still on his skin; Noah tore his eyes away from the black streak across Al's throat and fumbled his phone out of his pocket, as surreptitiously as he could.

please be careful

i love you

Pressing send, America slid the phone back into her pocket, its light reflecting off the bathroom's wet walls and floor. She stared at the couple on the floor, their hands still clasped together despite the eldritch lines of what had tried to form between them.

The girl swallowed back the emotion she didn't have the luxury to indulge in and opened the stall door with a broken attempt of a smile.

"Hey it's okay." It wasn't.

Removing a hypodermic needle from her pocket she held it up for them to see from the eye that remained.

"I've got an antidote."

She didn't.

Gretchen was looking in the direction Cain was headed. Further into the camp, towards the sound of raised voices. The Death hung back, watching, very obviously not sure what to do, and she wasn't alone. A glance towards Lukas, probably in some hope that he'd ave some idea of what they should do, proved quite the contrary, and she made a small, helpless sort of noise before raising her shoulders in a shrug and moving to follow their unpleasant teammate.

Whatever was inside was bad, but so was what they had just left behind. Maybe here, at least, there would be support. Except...she really hadn't liked what she'd heard a moment ago, about one of their own being infected. What exactly did that mean?

She glanced over her shoulder, pausing just long enough to make sure Lukas was coming as well, then continued on. "I think this is a bad idea," she murmured in an aside to him, apprehension more than evident in her voice. Her grip on the staff was almost painful, but she didn't want to desummon it, not when she had a charge ready and waiting. They might need it.

By the time they had reached the the heart of the camp though it seemed as though whatever the rukas had been was now over. In fact, there didn't seem to be anyone around. It was quiet, eerily so with the sound of the sprinklers dampening everything around them. "Maybe..." She didn't like it here. "Maybe we should...go, too." She was getting a bad feeling about this, like they needed to leave, now.

(Where will you go?)

I dunno, not here. Maybe the other amp.

(Danger is everywhere.)

I know that!

Lips pressed into a thin line, Gretchen began to back up, back the way they had just come, heading with purpose towards the entrance of the ice rink. She didn't stop to see if the boys were following her. They probably were. Probably.

"Are you twelve?" Lex called back to Horace, shaking his head at the younger man and shooting at the figure's hand as it swept towards Tommy, derailing its course.

This thing was creepy as hell, sure, and there was no way he wanted more of those claws swiping at him. He'd played defense once, with Jack and Abbi, and that had turned out well - he would play it with Tommy, too.

"Alright, Italian Stallion. You hit, I'll make sure she doesn't rip of your pretty mouth. Got it?"

The usual snarky responses Pey had come to expect from Finn never came. She glanced up at him as he fished his phone out, head tilting thoughtfully to one side, but said nothing as he shot off a series of texts before pocketing the device again with a small, unreadable smile. It was curious, at the moment, more than worrisome. Given what they were all dealing with, a little strain wouldn't have been unexpected.

"Oliver, Milo," her attention drifted to them for a moment, voice softening. "How you two holdin' up?" The infected they'd just downed had been a bruiser. Finn had the right idea with the heal, but Peyton didn't know what the other two had as far as charges went. Her own was pretty useless in this regard.

As Finn started walking she fell into step beside him, brows arched at the sound of his voice. "You alright?" She kept her own voice even as she asked him.

Bella, Dollface--she could get used to the stream of compliments. (Although "Italian Stallion", while not directed at her, was rewarded with an amused scoff.) Still, pretty words weren't much in the face of a nasty looking, much too fast zombie. Why couldn't these be the classic mindless shamblers like earlier? Or something less disgusting?

With a distinctly nope aura being exuded, Nora bashed her hammer hard against the cackling thing. "Like to think I can do the div some good, yeah," he said to Horace, her casual tone a little shaky. "Charge is a little iffy, though." Might as well be up front about it. Louder so that the others could hear, she asked, "'Course, if I end up crusading a little too much, I'm sure one of you lovely dears would play doctor for me, eh? Where's your manners, I still don't have names!"

(Clearly the more she talked, the less freaked out she'd be.)

The speed and ferocity with which this new infected came at them was unexpected, and Thomas raised his arms, crossing his gauntlets in front of himself to ward off the sudden blow from her swiping claws, while backing off a fair distance.

He had a feeling he didn't really want to get too close to this one if he could help it.

The sausage fest comment earned a snort of laughter, and the Italian stallion comment that followed was met with a chuckle and a grin. It seemed like, even in such dire straits as they may have found themselves in, Thomas was still able to put on a show of good humour.

"You offend me, Horace, suggesting that her a** is more worth watching than mine. But ah, Bella! I am so sorry. I am Thomas Giacinto." As always, his name was spoken in a rather grandiose and dramatic manner.

"Thank you, good sir!" He winked at Lex next, before loading his crossbow and firing off a bolt from what he thought was a safe distance.

She could hear it in his voice. He wanted to get away, and the shrill cold that ran through her was unmistakable. She straightened up, so that she wasn't leaning on him anymore, and let his hand go.

"Yeah." She murmured, her eyes focused sternly on the floor ahead of her. She was trying to be strong. "Good. Me too."

What else could she say? Please don't go, please stop leaving, please make this pain go away? She couldn't. He couldn't. He was making the right decision.

She turned, and pressed her forehead against his shoulder for one selfish, necessary minute, before straightening up again. "Call me if you need me."

Al continued to scrub and scrub and scrub until there was nothing left to scrub with. He looked around, frantically wheezing when he was assured it was all gone. "It's still on me!" he shouted as he ran fingers through his now bared hair. Squeezing the follicles into tight fists as he was sure he could squeeze more out of there. Instead he only loosened a bit of his own hair. He looked at the hair sticking to his hands.

"I wont let you win," he finally shot a look back at Noah. He was twitching anxiously.

Restrain him - how? Noah bit his lip anxiously and stuffed the phone back in his pocket before Al could notice it. Al had to have been infected, the dark streak on his neck, the erratic behavior, and Noah's stomach twisted with guilt because he shouldn't have let him go off alone in the first place. He didn't want to knock Al out, and he wasn't even really sure he could, but he didn't know how to restrain him, especially since Al was already acting like he thought Noah was going to do something bad to him.

"Win what? I don't understand," he tried, and twisted Al's scarf nervously between his hands. Maybe he could tie Al's hands with it? But that would require pinning him long enough to get the knot tied.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 21, 2015 3:25 pm

"I wont turn into some ******** life experiment quietly," he snarled. Every little move the trainee made was overly analyzed and deemed extremely suspicious. Was he trying to see if there was more liquid in his scarf to try and rub it back on him? He bared his teeth with a sound close to a growl. "Stop, don't make me-"

"I'm not going to experiment on you," Noah said, and held the scarf out to Al, asking uncertainly, "Do you want it back?" If Al moved closer, maybe he could catch his hands ... and then Al would really think that Noah was going to do something awful to him. Noah fidgeted, trying to figure out some way to do this.
