Leo didn't hear the nurse take the cart out of the room, assuming his tray was on the cart, Leo extended his arms to find it and brought it closer to him so he could use the cart as a table. "I'm sure they don't expect you to eat it all at once, if you get full you could munch on the food every now and again." Leo said softly as he opened his main course, which was a grilled cheese sandwich and clam chowder. The Crazy Tomboy ((Like I said, you're lucky lol I can hardly keep up with my wishlist. I keep meaning to only work on the items I have but then something else comes out thats awesome and I end up adding that too lol))

"I dunno. Maybe I should eat more from now on. Then I can lift a friggin' axe," Asher said as he cut a piece of pork and munched on it. "Not bad for hospital food." He found himself wolfing the rest of it down, an unnatural hunger getting the best of him. Probably all those years of small appetite piling up had caught up to him.

Leo laughed a bit. "I'm not sure if you'll get stronger by eating more, but it's not healthy for you to eat so little." he said softly as he munched on his sandwich and smelled the soup but it smelled odd. It was some kind of soup he'd never had before. "I wonder what kind of soup this is." he said quietly, taking his sandwich and dipping it into the soup like he did with tomato soup but this one tasted creamy. Leo had a hard time figuring out what kind of soup he was eating. "Ash I think my soup is bad."

Asher looked at the soup Leo was eating and noticed a few potatoes and what he assumed were clam bits floating there. "Looks like clam chowder. Harmless stuff, really," he said with a shrug. "Does it taste bad to you?" He went back to eating his porkchops, trying to refrain from scarfing that down as well.

Leo stared at his bowl for a few moments, though he couldn't see it. "Not 'bad', really just different....Tomato is better." he mumbled softly before looking over at his brother. "What's a clam? and a chowder?" he asked curiously, never having eaten a clam or even seen one before. When you're raised in the city seafood isn't normally seen when it's alive and in it's natural habitat.

"A clam is a kind of shellfish," Asher said, unsure of how to describe it. He was sure Leo would have seen some seashells, at least. "Think of two flat seashells being put together and some kind of meat is inside. As for a chowder, it's a rich soup. I have a hard time telling which is which."

"oh..." Leo said softly, still not caring much for the soup though. He finished his sandwich and decided he was finished eating. "I wonder what other kinds of shellfish there are." he said as he turned his attention toward his brother once more. "How is your meal?" he asked curiously.

Asher was in the middle of shoveling some beans. "Not bad, actually. The pork chop was a bit soft, but I guess it's a bit expected," he answered. There wasn't really much else to say. He could think of a great many topics, but he wasn't sure if Leo would be as comfortable talking about them, especially if they involved things he had never seen. It just made things a great deal harder.

Leo smiled. "Good. I'm glad you're eating a little more though." he said softly, feeling a bit of relief at the thought. He began to wonder about when the neighbors would be getting here, they said they would finish the care package for him and bring it when they stopped by. Leo was so anxious to hear how his brother reacted to his little gift, he almost felt as though he were getting butterflies like he did before he kissed Asher for the first time.

Asher could sense that his brother was nervous about something, but, as usual, he said nothing about it. He tried to think of something to say, but his mind once again went back to when Leo kissed him. It was certainly a surprise, but he hadn't been repulsed by it. Actually, he might actually sort of like it, but he told himself it could not be. They were close, but not that close.

Leo gave a soft sigh and stood up to stretch a little. He had waited for his brother to say anything really, but it seemed his brother was drawing a blank as well. "I'm....gonna go see if the neighbors are here yet." he said softly, though it was really just an excuse to go for a walk without offending his brother. Leo made for the door, placing his hand on the handle and hesitating for a moment, hoping his brother would say something just before he stepped foot outside of the room.

Asher knew he should have said something. Leo just hated silence. "Leo, wait. I need to tell you something," he said, but he mentally kicked himself. What did he have to say? If he mentioned the kiss, his brother might get upset. He had to think of something quickly, and it had to be important! Talking about their parents was out of the question and it wasn't the right time to talk about their good memories. What could they talk about?

Leo began to turn the handle when he heard his brother speak, finally. If Leo had a tail it would be wagging furiously right now, just from hearing his brother's voice. He let go of the handle and turned toward his brother a little, to show he was paying attention. "W-what is it?" he asked, but once again there was nothing but silence. All Leo could think was how much he wanted Ash to tell him he loved him, how important Leo was to him, that he would never let Leo go, and how he would always hold Leo in his arms. Leo knew it was too much to hope for right now, he wouldn't even care if it was a lie. But he knew it was too soon for his brother to be feeling this way.

Asher knew, and he knew very well, that Leo wanted him to return his love. To be honest, the elder did also want to return his feelings, but he either couldn't bring himseof to do so or he unconsciously rejected any romantic feelings he had. As of late, however, he had strange thoughts when it came to Leo, and he even licked his cheek, so he wondered if the kiss, however one-sided, might have triggered something.
"Leo, come here. I would feel much more comfortable talking to you if you're nearer," said Asher, though he really wanted his brother to be close enough so that he could stop him from running out the door if need be.
