Finally, one of the harpies rammed bodily into Laurus and shoved her off the cliff. It was a long, long way down.
After dissipating and manifesting at the foot of the cliff, she decided to leave them be. For now, at least. The harpies deserved some payback.

From one cliffs to the other she had come back here. She remembered the view from the top being very lovely, or so she thought. Staring at the top she grinned and began her way up the ramps again. Mel'ae slipped only once before continuing the trek. This was something she could do and would admit that she did enjoy it to an extent.

The bridge again. Frowning she began to walk over it as she had before. It was just as shaky and she was just, if not more nervous. Hiding it away she began to hop over it until reaching the other end. Sometimes all it took was a little energy to get through things like this.

Screeching and clawing at her had taken her by surprise and the petite girl flailed around, swiping her weapon every which way only to never actually hit her target. She felt herself fall and rolled to get back up again, staring at the flock overhead who were coming in for another attack.

This time she didn't miss and was poised when they came back down. A small smile was on her lips before she swung into one, watching it fade away and moved out of the way of some others quickly. This was a little better at least.

Mel'ae hissed as she was hit again by something and she reacted with a strike of her own. This was taking longer than it had before for some reason, hopefully she wasn't getting weaker?

She reacted violently when one scraped her face. Jumping into the air she sliced and diced a few of them. She looked to the last few floating and they flew back towards her. "Come on!"

The others fell and she sliced them away, grinning as she continued up to the top again. It was as beautiful as she remembered and she sat on the edge, staring down into the fog. A presence was standing over her and all she could do is smile as the power filled her again. After she had her fill she stood and turned away from it, walking off with her new blessing, whistling happily.

Rise and fall, twist and turn . . . Ross had separated from her battle buddy briefly so that she could accomplish a few more things on her own. The Aether Cliffs were there waiting--why she thought they too might shift somehow was beyond her.
Before she could must much more, a rock struck her. It was like the Blue Rose all over again . . .

As Naiad reached the bottom of the cliffs she grinned. She can tell that they are both vast and steep and she can spy half build and broken structures spanning the several hundred feet that goes up above her. While they don't look sturdy she still finds them fascinating. The mist coming from the void of water below adds to the affect. While Naiad cannot see anyone near, there is also a presence of something about. She wonders about it but waves it off for now.
She looks up again and grins. Naiad plans to make it to the top at any cost. With this thought she heads to the first path leading upwards. Taking path and ramp she makes it to the next area with a small slime despite being out of breath.

Naiad catches her breath before walking up a bit more. Then she comes up to a thin bridge spanning a large gap in the cliffs. However, just like all the other structure she had seen thus far it was hardly stable. Still she knew she must cross and with a nod stepped onto the bridge.
She quickly makes her way across as the bridge creeks under her feet. Somehow though she makes it across before it collapses.

What was the mantra again? One step at a time. Every stumble she had, every stub or look over the edge, Rostym reminded herself of that mantra. Keep going, because stopping meant failure.

Naiad looks around as she nears the top. She still cannot shake that odd feeling that she is being watched and that she is not alone. Shivering she looks around frantically. Then she sees them, Harpies. Or at least what she could think of as harpies. Some of them seem half formed or not quite solid, but they still look very similar to harpies. They also seem rather angry.
With a shake of her head Naiad readies her fan and growls before attacking them, feeling the claw of one grazing her arm as she does. It wasn't much damage to herself however it still hurt. Looking back she notices that she only grazed the nearest one.
