Ok I've got my 10 people, if anyone else wants to sign up for Gift Relay they have until tomorrow morning.

I want to get this game started asap.

Alright, just want to check, cause I cant find it in the rules, but the gift relay is a friendly game right? Were on separate teams for the sake of competition but we aren't attacking each other, right? It will be very awkward if we are suppose to defend Santa from bandits while having to worry about someone from the other team stabbing you in the back when your vulnerable.

It's friendly. That's why both teams are blue.

Just some clarification about Gift Relay.

Q: Is this game PvP?
A: Yes and no. It's PvP in the sense that you're competing against another team; however, you can not attack them. Since both teams are blue units they can stand on each other's spaces and move past them, but offensive/defensive skills will have no effect on them. Combat wise it is PvE. When a field event says it affects allies, it means your team. When it says affects all friendly units it means all blue units. Enemies mean all red units.

Q: Are there infinite presents?
A: Yes, the transporters have infinite presents.

Q: How do they affect inventories?
A: Presents will take 1 of your personal inventories slots. They do not use up any of your team's transporter's inventories. Because they have separate bags of holding.

Q: Can I get rid of my starter weapon to carry more presents?
A: If you want, sure. It will go to your transporter's inventory unless it's full which case it would get discarded.

Q: What happens to my presents if I get murderized defeated?
A: The enemy would steal the present. Beat them to get it back.

Q: Can summoned phantoms grab gifts too?
A: I'm leaning towards yes, unless a majority thinks it's unfair.

Q: Can presents be weaponized?
A: What? No. All of them have miniature glass ponies in them.

Q: Are there rescue penalties for carrying presents?
A: No. Carry as many as you want without being over-encumbered.

Q: Why is Jaren's sprite a female cleric?
A: Shits and giggles. Aruna let him borrow her clothes.

Iris' innate skill is summoning phantoms like in FE8 because she's a witch in RP canon.

Ah, I see. After looking it up, I think it might be a bit unfair for the phantom to carry presents as it would be like their team having a sixth team member. If each team had someone with that ability (or something similar), it would be balanced, but they don't.

In my mind, it falls under the same reasoning as to why I couldn't play my manakete--that it's too much of an advantage for one team in terms of present delivering. But that's just my opinion. I'm cool with what everyone else thinks.

I'm balancing out the use of a phantom with a bard. Refreshing another player is similar movement/action-wise to having another person on the team.

The phantom has lower stats and growths than normal players. Plus from my understanding, no class skills so they only get 1 innate skill.

More questions.

Q: Oh no! That spot is taken up by someone, what do I do?
A: As shown in the other games, up to 4 people can stand on the same space. Repeating what I said earlier, since both teams are blue you can stand on the same spot as someone on the other team.

Q: Can I convoy then trade with someone else?
A: No, that counts as 2 trades. Only 1 trade per turn please.

I see. Does Iris have to use her action each round to command the phantom to do something the same way the bard has to use his action to give someone else an extra turn?

Quote:

A: No, that counts as 2 trades. Only 1 trade per turn please.

A-extended: To quote the Info Hub: "Despite the rule that you can only do one action in your action phase, trading and using convoy are different. If Trading or Using the Convoy are done FIRST, you will be allowed to do any other action except trade or use the convoy again. You cannot Trade and then Use Convoy, and vice versa. It works the same way in Fire Emblem. "

And since the phantom has to do with the base game and not strictly Lethe's game, I'll take that question. The phantom rolls a 1d4 just like other foot units, so Iris can either roll 2d4 in one post and move/act herself and the phantom together, or (like if Vika wants to use Adele's actual account to post as her) she can take her turn and then take the phantom's turn. As of right now, I do not have a rule about which of the two has to go first, but that may change. To more precisely answer your question, moving the phantom does not use up Iris' own action phase. Adele is like an extra teammate that is more expendable and more easily disposed of, but still functions generally the same as anybody else.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 24, 2015 8:03 pm

Oh, so then it is like having an extra independent teammate. I understand the phantom is weaker than a normal player, but if it can stay behind combat lines and deliver presents with impunity, then it's functionality is that of a 6th member to their team.

I'm not seeing how that balances out with a bard, which has to give up his own action to allow someone else to have an extra one. The bard's ability is a trade off--one action for one action--but the summoner ability results in a net gain of an extra individual to do stuff, adding actions each round without losing any (besides the one time action spent to summon it).

Ruling that it can carry presents just seems like too much of an advantage in this way.

The bard can also still move and allow another person to go, which can also result in an extra visit for your team as well. The advantage of the bard is being able to choose which person can go again. While the phantom is essentially an extra teammate, the bard hurries mobility along, essentially allowing people to get to their houses and get more presents faster.

I leave the call of whether the phantom can carry gifts and visit up to Lethe, since I'm not sure if they'll even have inventory slots or not.

The refs have weighed in so here's my decision.

Q: Can Phantoms carry presents?
A: No. They do no have inventory slots, aside from their weapon. Which I'm not allowing to be discarded.

As a side effect this means they do not have a way of healing or buffing themselves. They can be healed by priests/clerics or buffed by other teammates though.

Q: Can I walk through house tiles?
A: No, you must walk around those tiles. Visiting must be done through the front door. If you visited last turn, you can go "out the back".

Q: How many people can we have on building tiles?
A: On tiles that have half a house only 2 people. These tiles are 49, 63, 78, 86, 107, 117, 150, 156, 162, 174, 177, and 189. House can only have 1 person at a time. They are 50, 51, 61, 62, 105, 106, 118, 119, 151, 155, 178, and 188. Shops and inns can hold people. Spaces 108, 116, 136, 144, 161, and 175 have these.

Merry Christmas everyone. Don't worry about having to take your turn today if you don't think you'll be able to. The 24 hour time limit will be on pause for today and will start back up at 12AM the 26th.
