Kagetsukiko
My English teacher for my junior and senior years made several references to Paradise Lost when he taught but I haven't read it myself sweatdrop . Why? What do you need an opinion on?

Well the story is about Satan's failed Rebellion against God and his Temptation of Adam and Eve. But, the more I read into it, the more I sympathize and feel for Satan, but everyone else I've talked to about it has just read it on face value and just sees Satan as purely evil and Antagonist. While I see him more in the form of a tragic or anti-hero. Atleast that's the way I see Milton writing him off as, so I was wondering if anyone else saw Satan in that light is all.

Antonio: Yes, I know. I remember your old username from Axiom 3nodding .

Malfrost: Shoot.... Can't really help you there sweatdrop . My teacher mainly used Paradise Lost to help illustrate the devil character (a character that causes the protagonist to change, whether for good or for bad) so I don't know nearly enough to answer that question gonk .

Don't worry about it ^_^ I can tell from your statement there that your teacher took the traditional view of Satan in the work though if he were referring to him as the Devil character that means he sees Adam and Eve as the Protagonist.
Anyway, it's been a really good read and I really enjoy it ^_^ if you like reading check it out sometime.

I probably will. The Borders close by is closing down so they're having a huge sale. Maybe my dad will buy me Paradise Lost?

Oh, and if it helps, you're not the only one with the view that Satan is the tragic hero. There seems to be a number of essays on it.

Awwww, I loved Borders...the one I visited in my cousin's town also shut down sad Yeah, most places sell it for around 8 or 9 dollars though, so pretty cheap imo ^_^

And I have read some of those essays..but I want someone outside of Academia to agree with me which I have yet to find >.<

Why Borders, why must you close down gonk ?!?!

I doubt that there are a lot of people outside of academia who've even read Paradise Lost xd . Of course, I might just be unfairly biased in that opinion sweatdrop .

I know Auggie loved Paradise Lost..

I'd like to think it's a good piece of lit that everyone should read if given the chance >.<

I only have a Book a Million...which out of the three major chains is the one I liked the least....but Joe Muggs is good so I can't complain too much I guess >.<

Hmph, lucky. I think the closest Barnes and Nobles to my house closed down a while ago. Not to mention, even if it didn't close down, it was a lot farther away than the Borders crying .

So with Borders closing down....does that mean no more bookstores for you >.<
