Hey. Guys. Anon has this idea, and we're working on it. Basically, we will allow people to train their stats up to 6 per rank. This allows people to work on their stats. NO ONE may start with these stats, though. These additional six must be trained for. This is true even for Race Leaders and all Autoranks.
Also, we're thinking of introducing classes and prestige classes, which will also better define you. One would be something like Kenpachi, which I'm going to call a Myrmidon. All strength and speed, no Kidou. Then at a later rank, at say A-rank, you could take the Prestige called Blitzer, which is a Myrmidon who can use techniques, such as Kidou, that enhance only their physical traits or something.
Just ideas. Please, give me feedback immediately as to these ideas.

That sounds like a good idea, actually. Especially the ability to train up to 6 extra stat points. It would make sense to be able to do so.

how would this training work? I'm against it if it's naruto style, where you go off and make X posts training....but if the training could only be done in a real fight with another player...then i might be for it.
Sorry. Non-interactive posting pisses me off a little. I write fiction to write fiction. I roleplay for the interaction with other people. Often people "training" tend do ignore other players because they have a goal in mind, and the other players don't fit that. If they wanted to write their character alone, they should get offline and do it.
I also think that training for those above rank C should be in non sparring, as some experiences in real life can only be obtained when your life is on the line. (So basically you get 18 points freebie if you have a partner, and the rest you have to risk something for)
As for classes, it starts to black off the flow a little, and emphasize the mmo/game rather than the story. Good roleplays should read like well written fiction first, and play like a game in the background. Making it too mechanical gets in the way of the story a bit. And if we do go with classes, the first person to mention one in a post is really going to piss me off unless there is a hard coded in character reason for it.
That said, classes could be made workable, if you know the flaws and write the system to minimize them. I am not against this... but i might become against this if it's implemented without careful consideration.

Mana is working on the classes. We'll show them ot the rest of the mods before we do anything. The Classes, btw, are easy. Like, you can just choose "general" if you wish, or "Open". No negs or bens. But if you WANT to take a class, it gives negatives and benefits.
Anyway, as for training, the system will incorporate battles as well as training. Training for release stages count towards training for points. Etc. There will be different training for different stats, but battle will incorporate training for ALL stats.

That tells me nothing on the training.
Will there be active solo training? ((you, by yourself, writing a paragraph about how hard you practice))
Passive training is fine, but that's different.

That's the main way to train, as it would be fastest. But there are alternatives, such as fighting, or sparring. These all count as training. I'm saying that yes, you CAN do solo training, but there are alternatives so you do not have to.
