Fundamentally we need republic aligned and imperial aligned systems that border neutral systems... that are systems, not bases. Perhaps ideally some of these factionally aligned systems could share a border to allow for a flashpoint between the two factions.

I thought we had imp and NR systems though. Not just one headquarter planet.

Same here. I was under the impression the imperial (and new reb) bases were just small parts of the larger systems they directly ruled

No the Imp System is entirely used as a base. Presence in the system is by Imperial command authorization only. Thats how the imps operate, they set aside one system in a sector as a base... Usually the moff isn't even based there.
What we need is imperial and republic systems that aren't bases of operations but simply systems in the sector. Ideally they don't need to be large they just need one of two things.
1. A valuable commodity worth smuggling. 2. A sizeable local population with demand for illicit goods.
Many of the systems me and Cale generated fit that bill. We had an imperial system with a single occupied planet that was a blood-diamond mine for capture revolutionaries. We had a system with three heavily populated worlds with over a billion inhabitants on one. That planet would certainly have a large underworld demand for Celtros products... etc.

So instead of one imp system, you want two.

The Rep would need one too
So far, that'd mean:
2 Imp systems 2 Rep systems at least 1 Neutral system 1 Pirate system The Pit
That's 7 systems in all.

I still dont' see how more systems will change your perogative though. You're still border patrolling..

True but if the systems have a good reason to be visited by neutral players like smugglers then I'll have opportunities for character interaction. It's certainly better chances then I'd have being cooped up in my sector base.

I feel like we're changing the whole RP just to make two guys happy, two guys who have regular characters anyway.
I think I'll destroy the Empire first, then turn upon the New Republic.
Oh, and for the last ******** time, I'm not living at the ******** Pit. Its too ******** obvious.

Why not just add more stuff to your current system, that way they have to come to the one?

Cale Nelo's restrictions are what drug this RP off base... I knew exactly what I was doing before he gave us this restriction now... I'm halfway tempted to call it quits. If I'm a pirate how am I supposed to hide? If I'm a smuggler how do I slip away from the bounty hunters/sector rangers on my tail? If I'm a military man, how do I do anything without getting a sector response fleet stuck up my a**?
One statistics that I should point out to you guys.
A T-65R can make a complete scan of a system and register all the ships, facilities, and planetary features of the worlds within a system in just a few hours. I'd think a similar performance to be expected from the TIE Vanguard, and the Sector Ranger patrol ships.
So how long can anyone stay hidden from the sector rangers if they start a search? If its an orbital platform or ship, you get at most 1 day before they find you.

Theres a thought. Oh, wait. It won't work because the Empire is so militarily strong, powerful, and uncorruptible that no one would be able to land or deploy there. *Cough*sarcasm*Cough*

As for Nelo's restrictions, they were put there for a reason. Until, as a group, we can pull our heads out of our asses and work together, they're gonna stay. I'm not seeing this happening.
