((I regret reading through all the pages that went up while I was gone....))
Esther shrieked when Liesel grabbed her arm, and stumbled along after her. She still wasn't entirely sure where they were going, or why they were in such a hurry, but it was kind of difficult to ask.
((I don't know how to write an explosion, and at the current moment, I'm not sure I want to try XP))

[[At least you weren't there for it.]]
Liesel dove behind a random dumpster still holding on to her partner's wrist. After letting go she landed clumsily on the rough cement and skidded forward a few inches, then backed up into the wall and kept her ears covered and her head down. There was scarcely a moment's peace after that before the bomb went off. From behind the dumpster you couldn't see the giant plume of fire that probably came from the basement, but you could hear the initial bang and feel the air get much warmer. A few charred remains of whatever was left in the building were spit on to the road and parking lot. A few scraps of metal even bounced off the dumpster. All throughout this there was the crackling of fire and a scream from whoever was nearby at the time. Liesel didn't think any civilians were close enough to actually be harmed by the explosion, but there was always a lingering doubt. The woman only vaguely remembered the folder tucked into her scratched up blazer. She didn't say anything to Esther.
[[I tried my very best XD]]

((True. And you did a MUCH better job describing the explosion that I ever could wink ))
Esther shrieked when the blast went off, and covered her ringing ears. As debri fell about the area she looking around in shock. She didn't see anyone around, thankfully, but it sounded like there could be people within the vicinity. She slowly poked her head out from behind the dumpster to see the building they had just escaped from (or what was left of it) burning brightly with a pillar of smoke forming over it.
"Well...at least that moth is gone now," Esther muttered under her breath to no one in particular. She shook her head, and rubbed her temple as she turned back to Liesel, "You wouldn't happen to still have that folder, would you?"

[[Damn you Joker, making new roleplays I want to join on top of the 15 billion I'm already in! And heh, thank you Gemmetra XD]]
Liesel was snapped out of her trance by Esther's voice. "Oh, yes, I do." She wondered in her mind who could have possibly planted that bomb while everybody was in the room. It was just another thing she'd have to find out. Either way, she dug out the Manila folder but didn't feel like reading it at the moment, so Liesel abruptly stood up and handed it to Esther. "You can take a look, tell me what you find." She surveyed the damage around them and the damage she had suffered. Her clothes had definitely seen better days. She would have to change soon in order to keep suspicion away from her, a wig wouldn't hurt either.

The file contained a few papers, now scuffed and wrinkled, but legible. They contained the extremely limited data that had been obtained by the government about the substance, plus a few conjectures about what it did, and observation data of the atmosphere at the entry points. Perhaps most important, scrawled at the bottom of the paper, was the word, Australia.
There was an ominous rumble in the helicopter. St. Cyrill looked up, then grabbed Richard and said, "Grab a chute, we gotta go!" However, before they could even move to grab anything, there was a louder rumble, followed by a sound of tearing metal, then they lurched to the side - hard - and Shikyo was thrown out. None of them ever saw him or his body again. St. Cyrill managed to catch the edge of the door instead of following Shikyo to his fate, and grabbed Richard's wrist as he slid by. The problem was that they were falling, and had almost no way to save themselves. Might want to think quickly.
The shot sent the Agents into a spin, but a stray bullet struck the barrel of Kurtis' gun, knocking it out of his hands. He watched in dismay as it bounced across the hard floor, pieces flying as the casing cracked. Luckily, they made it out, and Connor took them up the mountain path. He didn't slow just yet.

Kurtis began patting himself down. "Notebook, notebook, here we go," he muttered furiously. His messy, irregular handwriting began to sprawl across the paper with a cheap ballpoint pen. He compiled a list of parts and quick schematics. His encryption would annihilate the plans as well the backups in the labs by physically destroying his HDDs if anyone tried to crack into his accounts, which meant he had to be sure the design wasn't lost forever. "Got it- FUUUUUUUUUUUCK WE HAVE NO MONEY FOR PARTS OR PARTICLE ACCELERATORS!" Kurtis yelled, punching his seat while, ironically, carefully tucking the notepad into a pocket alongside the spent clips.
He groaned. His design would be crude, and he wouldn't be able to recharge the system for some time, but if he spent his spare time tinkering once he finished the re-prototype, he'd be able to bring it to where it was eventually, since he remembered the most important parts (namely, the kinetic blast itself and how to make its field adjustable).
