They had no means to protect themselves and so he felt someone needed to. The mortals may damage the planet, but their time is fleeting compared to a world. But should some apocalypse threaten, he said he'd be there." Ezra thought on what he had just said. "I suppose he told me this to scare any such ideas I might have had out of me. But i have no desire to rain brimstone upon the planet. But you, however..." ...that is all

He nodded. "Interesting, but irrelevant. In the old days, before I was split, I commanded such power the gods themselves feared me. Hence why I was split. I could cause a man to die a horrible death, by thinking of him while on the other side of the world." He shook his head. "I miss those days.. but they're several hundred billion years behind me, or a few months ahead of me."

He would not show me, but I could touch a portion of his power." The creature locked some of his power away so well it was even locked away from himself. Presumably Onsphalt knew where the key was, but that was not something he had learned in the week or so he had been with the ankhen. ...that is all
