Jake fell back, hard. He couldn't do anything to stop Garin from hurting Faith.
Sanvi frowned. She didn't really want to get in the middle of that but she didn't want Garin to hurt the girl.

Garin twisted ne of Faith's arms behind her back and put the other around her neck. "Now, lt's stop the fighitng," he said to Jake.
Faith whimpered a bit.

Jake growled. "You let her go," he demanded.
"Garin, stop it!" Sanvi cried, running over to him. "Let her go, she didn't do anything! She's only a human!"
"You stay out of this, vampire girl," Jake growled.

"Not if you're going to attack us anymore," Garin said and looked to Shane and Hope. "The same with you two." Then he looked back to Jake. "Since scum would have no problem murdering a little girl."

"If you hurt her you will pay," Jake snarled.
"Garin!" Sanvi cried. "I told you to let her go! I won't let her get hurt!" She tried to pull Garin away from Faith.

Faith ran when Garin was pulled away from her. She went to Jake.

Jake gently hugged Faith. "Don't do that," he scolded her. "You could have been hurt!"
"So who are you?" Sanvi asked Jake.
Jake only looked up defiantly at her.

"He was going to hurt you," Faith said.
"Let's just go," Garin said. He wished to say something more about Jake, but didn't want to offend SAnvi.

Sanvi shook her head. "No..." she said.
Shane stepped out from the woods. "I'm Shane Kitano," he said. "And that's Jake Medici." He didn't say anything about Faith and Hope's names.
Sanvi's eyes widened when Shane gave Jake's name, in disbelief.

Garin glanced to Jake a little contemptuously. So was this Sanvi's brother who had attacked her so cruelly?

"That is not possible," Sanvi said. "My brother was named Jake Medici and is either dead or living with another clan." She slowly shook her head. "I am Sanvi Medici...but I was turned just a few days ago. Today would have been my birthday."
"...!" Jake looked stunned. "I-I'm sorry, Sanvi," he apologized. "I shouldn't have attacked you..." He looked like he might cry. "And not on your ninteenth birthday..."
