"Trisha wanted to try the ceiling after seeing something in a book," Kara commented dryly, "Though actually she didn't hurt her neck doing it, she convinced the boys to set up a platform so she painted on her back the whole time. She was stiff but better stiff than her neck being bent out of shape."

She hadn't been too sure of it herself, but Trisha had done excellent work, and really what Trisha was and still doing with the other houses was to try and see what she could and couldn't do. So that in the end everything would be tried on her place and it would be used as a model.

"It'll always be welcoming even if the outside is rain or as we are having our own winter coming up... snowing," he smiled wrly at Elnara.

At least they wouldn't be snowed it, though he wondered how the paths were going to get cleared. Well with a family full of mages he was sure they would managed somehow.

Elnara laughed. "Leave it to Trisha," she grinned at Kara. "Sometimes I wonder if there's any form of painting that girl won't try."

She turned back to Lore again and stuck her tongue out at him. "This winter, I won't be pregnant," she reminded him, "so don't you worry about me getting as cranky as I was in Arda."

She knew she wouldn't be going nearly as far - though by that time, the twins would be nearly half a year old already - but still, she wouldn't be confined to her bed for the duration of it, and she wouldn't have to worry about whether or not she was warm. No, this winter, she was certain, would be just fine.

Not that that was going to stop her from snuggling with Lore every night.

Lore chuckled, he was wondering when she was going to try and do that. He couldn't help though but tease her a bit about it. At the time he had been worried but now he was just funny.

"Of course not," Lore grinned, "And of course no where near as much snow as you already know.

"I take it winter was difficult in Arda?" Kara asked lightly.

She had seen it snow before of course, but it sounded like there was far more snow than what she got to see while there. From the sounds of it... far far more snow than she could imagine.

Elnara pursed her lips thoughtfully.

"Considering that I was in the second half of an apparently difficult pregnancy," she explained, "as well as the fact that there was a storm that lasted over a week and dumped us in so much snow that the houses were buried right up to the tops of their chimneys ... yes, you could say that the winter was difficult. Cabin fever and immobility are not fun - and especially not together."

She looked down at Garrick, who was still making little sounds quietly to himself. "On the other hand," she murmured, "it doesn't matter what it was like ... because every little bit of it was worth it. Hana and Garrick are beautiful ..."

She smiled proudly at Lore. They had done well, the two of them ... she couldn't be more proud of him, either.

Lore smiled fondly at Elnara, he would have to agree in the end seeing the two made all the things that he had fretted about seem amusing. Which was why he could look back on it fondly, not to mention they couldn't ask for anything more.

Besides it allowed them to spend so much time with each other in close quarters.

"They are beautiful," Kara replied wistfully watching Garrick well.. look at the room.

Or the ceiling she wasn't sure what he was looking at exactly but she was sure it seemed interesting.

"And to have two, Donovan didn't look it but he was very surprised," she giggled.

Elnara giggled softly. "It's so hard to catch him by surprise," she murmured with a smile. "On the rare occasion that we manage it, without even meaning to, it's fun."

And what better way than with children?

She lifted Hana to her shoulder for her mid-feeding burp and rubbed her back gently. "It's so peaceful here," she murmured. "The sort of peacefulness that we had in the Borderlands ... it already feels more like home than most other places ever have."

Even the inn. Not that the inn had been bad or anything, it had just been crowded and noisy sometimes ... but here, where everything was spread out, where they weren't all crammed into one building ... this was perfect.

On her shoulder, Hana hiccuped. Elnara smiled and lowered her once more to continue her feeding.

Kara smiled fondly at the mention how peaceful it was, it was peaceful, which was the point of having clan grounds, if everyone lived in the same building they would all drive each other mad she suspect after a few generations.

"It took a while for me to adjust," Kara admitted, "Most of the children are of course old enough to live by themselves, and while I still have many children living wtih me it isn't quite the same. Most of them are all the quiet ones, or the ones who prefer to stay in the mainhouse because it is more convieitant for them... like Kali or Mia. Granted Mia still has acts like a child, but that's all act to an extent as you notice, otherwise she's independent like Helen."

Elnara nodded. "At first I had thought that it would be strange, living without the children in the same house as us ... but after a year of it being just the two of us ... and then the four of us ... well, with Alyse ... well, let's just say I don't think it's going to take as much adjusting as I had thought originally."

She smiled warmly. "I'm sure we'll settle right in here," she murmured.

"And most of the others are going to be close by," Lore spoke up after listening for a while.

He was sure everything was going to turn out just fine as far as he was concerned.

"So we can visit or they can visit us."

"I'm glad, I know this place is far different from the inn... in just the area and all the houses and such," Kara murmured softly.

Though it was a great deal more peaceful which was wonderful, even if being in the mainhouse felt odd to be honest. However the mainhouse had been around before she was even born, so it wouldn't do to tear it down and rebuild it.

Elnara smiled and rocked her chair gently.

"And with these chairs," she murmured, "and our bedspread from Ulani ... I don't think we'll need to adjust much from there either. I'm sure we'll be just fine."

She giggled softly at Lore. "Though I don't know how well we'll sleep tonight, we're half a day behind physically."

"We'll manage, who knows maybe all of the excitement will put us to sleep later," he offered with a chuckle.

Even though that was never for certain at least they would have time to adjust to their room, and they could talk....
